When Daniel Carter left, he was reluctant.
He hugged his son and kissed him, speaking softly for quite a while.
It was only when Grace Chandler and Wennie Lane returned that he finally left.
"What's going on? How did your chat go?" Wennie Lane put down the dinner she brought me and asked curiously.
I smiled calmly and said, "It was okay. He doesn't seem to have plans to fight me for custody. He just asked that after I take Ryan to see his grandmother tomorrow, he'll be able to take him to see Old Master Carter."
Grace Chandler nodded and said, "That's understandable. The elders on both sides have been hoping for you to settle down and have children. Now their wishes are fulfilled."
Wennie Lane asked, "What about you? Did he say anything about you?"
"What should he have said?"
"You know! You've had the child, shouldn't there be some attitude? Like reconciliation or even marriage — the child should have a complete family!"
Wennie Lane looked at me, awaiting an answer.
