Chapter 155 - The Disappearing Spaceship and Wayne Industries.

A flower basket sat quietly on the bedside table, its fragrance gently wafting through the air.

Outside the hospital room, Clark and Jonathan wore worried expressions.

Lana and Chloe, who had come to visit, also looked sad and serious.

"How is she?" Gino, who had just arrived from the castle, removed his sunglasses. Accompanying him were the director and other staff from the town hospital, all wearing smiles.

Was there no social etiquette in the free United States? Only fools would believe that.

"Make sure Mrs. Kent gets the best treatment and doctors," Gino said coldly, looking at the director beside him.

"Of course, of course," the director said with a smile, nodding and instructing his assistants to make arrangements.

Martha lay quietly in the bed behind the glass. Gino waved his hand, signaling the others to leave, "Everyone, leave. So many people will only disturb the patient's rest."

"Well, Mr. Gino, contact me anytime there's news!" The headmaster smiled and led the others away. Only Lana and Chloe, along with Clark and his son, remained in the hallway.

Seeing his friend arrive,

"Gino, thank you." Clark stepped forward, deeply moved, and patted his friend's shoulder.

"It's nothing. What did the doctor say?"

Gino didn't seem to mind. He saw Jonathan nodding his head in thanks, his face full of gratitude. The honest and simple man could only express his heartfelt thanks in this clumsy way.

Clark sighed, his gaze filled with worry as he looked at his adoptive mother in the bed. "The situation isn't looking good."

"The doctor said she's been infected with a strange virus, causing her body to become weak and frail."

"Your mother couldn't have contracted a virus for no reason. There must be a cause."

The boy turned to Clark and said, "Think carefully, what happened?"

"Where was Martha when you found her, and what was she doing?"

"Doing what?" Clark tilted his head, pondering. Then, as if suddenly enlightened, he clapped his hands together. "I remember! When I found Martha, she was in the Barn, and she seemed to be trying to hide the Spaceship for me."

"That's the problem, it's the Spaceship's fault." Gino put his arm around Clark's neck and lowered his voice. "It's very likely that thing picked up some kind of space virus in the cosmos."

"So..."

"Find the Spaceship."

Clark nodded repeatedly, "I'll go right away!"

The big boy hurried through the hallway, leaving only Lana and Chloe, who were both bewildered.

Watching Clark's fleeting figure, Gino thought for a moment and decided to follow to see how things unfolded.

"Gino," Jonathan called out, stopping the boy who was about to leave.

"Mr. Jonathan." The young man nodded politely, stopping to inquire with his eyes what Jonathan wanted.

"Thank you very much for your help." Jonathan sighed, extending his arm. "I was wrong in the past; I shouldn't have negated a group of people because of one person. My heart was too narrow."

Jonathan was about to say something else, but, not far away, the doctor in charge of Martha came over to Gino and Jonathan with a medical record.

"Mr. Kent." The doctor handed the medical record to Jonathan. "Your wife is pregnant."

The light statement felt as heavy as a thousand pounds, pressing on Jonathan's chest, causing him to widen his eyes in a daze.

"Wha... what?" Jonathan opened his mouth, unable to utter a word.

The doctor finished reviewing the medical records and left. After a long moment, the man finally drew in a breath.

"Pregnant? Martha's pregnant!?"

Jonathan couldn't describe his current feelings, whether excitement, shock, or bewilderment.

Years ago, the hospital had already determined that Martha could never get pregnant. But now, his wife was carrying his child, the fruit of their love!

Gino glanced at the medical report in Jonathan's hand, looking thoughtful.

"Whoosh!"

The extreme speed stirred up the air, kicking up dust.

Dewdrops clung to the grass and trees on the farm after a heavy rain.

Clark leaped over the shattered door of the Barn, his gaze sweeping across it.

The spaceship that brought him to Earth was resting quietly on the wooden planks.

Clark slowly approached the craft, intending to investigate if it was the source of the virus that infected Martha.

With each step closer, the spaceship began to tremble.

"What's going on?"

Before Clark could react, a bright purple halo lit up the tail of the spaceship. It then shot out of the barn like an arrow.

Boom!

The wooden planks shattered. The teardrop-shaped spaceship pierced the air with a sonic boom, a streak of light heading straight towards the west side of the town.

"Damn it!" Clark frowned, not hesitating. He tilted his head and ran after the direction the spaceship had gone.

That small Spaceship, though not large in shape, was incredibly fast. In just a second, it zipped across the sky above the town and, with a whoosh, landed in the Quarry that Clark and Gino had visited before.

It seemed the mysterious Cave was attracting the Spaceship. The craft smashed through the soil and entered the Cave, then slammed into a stone wall.

Boom!

With a loud crash, the angular stone blocks embedded in the Spaceship's recesses fell to the corner.

Losing its power source, the once "frenzied" craft slowly came to a halt.

The purple light emanating from its tail, the kinetic energy, extinguished, and the Spaceship fell to the ground. Clark, rushing in like a gust of wind, anxiously entered the Cave.

"Found you!"

Clark squatted down and lifted the Spaceship.

It was heavy in his hands, and smooth to the touch.

Clark jumped onto the Spaceship, and with a gentle leap, he exited the Cave. Then, he swung his legs, moving like a gust of wind, and rushed towards his family's farm.

As Clark's body moved, the Spaceship's seams jostled again. Some green dust drifted out, spreading through the air with Clark's running and entering his respiratory tract with each breath.

When Clark raised his leg and ran into a dense forest, a feeling of weakness and fatigue swept over his entire body the next moment.

"Ugh!"

His muscles were weak, and his legs were soft, as if thousands of ants were crawling up his inner thighs or feathers were lightly brushing his feet.

"Thud!"

Clark closed his eyes and suddenly fell to the forest floor, his handsome face slamming into the mud. The Spaceship, which had been on his back, fell off and landed in the mud, splashing some dirt.

Gotham.

Wayne Manor.

Bruce, the richest man in Gotham, was busy.

He was busy at night, becoming Batman to fight crime, and during the day, he had to play the role of Gotham's richest man, attending various social events and company meetings.

"These are today's company tasks," Alfred, the Wayne family's loyal butler, placed a stack of files on the desk.

"Still so many," Bruce, sitting on the sofa, gave a wry smile.

The files were so heavy that the table trembled slightly.

Bruce leaned forward slightly and pulled out the red one from the colorful labels attached to the lower right corner of the files.

That was a report on Wayne Industries' branch in Smallville.

Bruce spread out the files, his originally calm brow furrowing slightly, his expression strange. "Werewolf attacks? And a mysterious cave?"
