"I don't want to see it."
Lola stood outside the bathroom with Atlas, looking far more nervous now.
"Atlas." She abruptly clasped his hands. "Do me a favor and take a look at it, but don't tell me!"
"..."
"I mean, tell me. No, I don't think you should." She let go of his hand and paced back and forth, biting the end of her thumb. "It says just a moment, like a minute or two. We have the results now, right?"
Atlas studied his nervous wife.
Just earlier, when she came out of the office, the two of them were in pure bliss. So, they dropped by the pharmacy to buy a few pregnancy tests. But now that she had taken them, she had just left all the tests on the sink and was guarding the bathroom instead.
"Darling." Atlas reached for her arm, stopping her from spiraling. "Let's check together."
She pursed her lips and looked at him. "But what if… what if I was wrong?"
