Chuck's face reddened as his sharp eyes scanned the dining area that served as their cafeteria in this place. The reason for his foul mood? The growing whispers and comments that were spreading among the members of the Order.
"Hey! If you've got something to say, say it to my face!" he roared, silencing the chatter in the room. "What?!"
Pushing himself up from his chair, he looked around aggressively. "You all seem to have a lot to say when I'm not looking, but now you're mute?"
"No one's mute," someone from the crowd shouted back. "We just find it odd that you were the loudest about the mission before it even started! And yet, you screwed things up and almost got everyone on your team killed!"
Another person snickered. "He kept saying the madam would just take the credit and stay behind, but in the end, she's the one who rescued his ass."
"What a joke," someone scoffed. "Even Izu—whom you kept picking on—did more than you."
