Lola's words replayed in Scarlet's mind as she watched Lola run toward the residents, their faces lighting up the moment they saw her. Standing by the open car door, Scarlet shook her head, releasing a shallow breath.
"This is why I don't like her," she muttered. "She could've… reached much higher. But because of silly emotions, she can't."
It wasn't that Scarlet hated Lola for the sake of hating her. At first, she had disliked Lola simply because she seemed too silly. Their first meeting hadn't gone well, and first impressions tended to linger. Hers certainly had.
But after what happened in the penthouse—after Scarlet was punished for it—she did some self-reflection. It wasn't that she felt sorry for Lola, but she understood where she had gone wrong.
More than that, she realized Atlas was serious about Lola.
