The rescue team, consisting of a total of fifteen members from the Order, gathered hours before dawn. With everything prepared, those participating bid their friends and loved ones farewell. After all, many of them had families who were also part of the Order or under the protection of the Zorken family.
This mission was dangerous, and there was no guarantee they would come back alive—or in one piece.
Worries consumed some families, while others showed pride and sent them off with prayers. A few didn't have anyone to be sentimental with. They used that time to mentally prepare themselves for the mission ahead.
As for Lola, she spent the remainder of the day with her children. But unlike the others, she didn't treat it like a final goodbye. She would come back in one piece — there was no "if."
