I'd like to remind you that I first write this in Spanish and then translate it into English, which is why some words change or things I don't notice don't change since my English isn't very good. I plan to take an English course when I return to university; right now I want to take a break from studying.
With nothing more to add, let's begin the chapter.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
"I work so hard, like a slave; oh, I forgot the lyrics," I started singing while staring at the documents with boredom. That is, until someone hit me on the head. "Ow, what's wrong with you?" I asked Tsunade, who was next to me.
"Stop exaggerating, will you? You just sat down in that chair; you've been sleeping in your bed all day; you know it's 4 p.m.," my mother scolded me.
"A young lady like me is very busy these days," I replied with complete innocence.
"I don't know what you do at night to sleep so late and so much, but you're just a 14-year-old brat to be acting like a pig," Tsunade said with total indignation.
"Do I look like a slut to you? Just so you know, I'm still a virgin, as virginal as a nun or virgin oil," I said as if I were a saint. But she didn't really believe me, judging by the look on her face.
I couldn't tell her that I spent my nights in my lab conducting inhumane experiments.
"Well, let's forget about that; I didn't come here for that. I came to see about what I told you a few days ago," the slimy Sannin exclaimed.
"You're talking about taking Shizune on as your apprentice. I don't see a problem with that, but I can't wrap my head around the fact that you have to travel the world to do it," I said with complete honesty.
"It's so she can learn about life and gain more experience in the medical field," was Tsunade's reply. As if working at Konoha's main hospital didn't provide that kind of experience.
"Shizune is still very young, and no matter how much medical talent she has and how much she's already graduated from the academy, she still needs the basic skills of a ninja," I said, speaking like the clan leader I am. "Let her stay as a genin for a while so her foundation is more solid; that way, when you take her on as an apprentice, you won't have to teach her how to walk on water."
"Phew, fine," she said, pulling out a bottle of sake she had hidden in an armchair and starting to drink. I just stared at her. "Want some?" she asked, pointing the sake at me.
"Sure," I said simply, sitting down across from her and taking a sip.
As we both got drunk, we remained in quiet silence.
"Seriously, are you still a virgin?" she asked.
"Yes, as virginal as the day I was born," I replied.
"I thought you wouldn't be anymore, with how mature girls your age, or even younger, act." That blows my mind, since girls of 7 or 8 years old behave like mature women in heat when they see a pretty boy from some clan; it's almost astonishing. I'd like to know where that hypergamy or gold-hunting behavior comes from.
"I haven't had the opportunity," I told her.
"I don't believe that," she replied. "I say you're old enough to experience those things, since rape among kunichis is more common than you think. Don't make your first time like that; you should find yourself a boyfriend."
I stared at my mother for a moment, wondering whether to tell her or not.
"Mom, I'm going to be completely honest with you; I don't like men." My answer left her speechless.
She put the sake down and began to pray.
"Poor Kosuke." her response made me roll my eyes and sigh, taking the sake from her and starting to drink.
...
Several scientists and Iwa ninjas were peering through a glass partition into a room where a captured and bound Iwa ninja was being held. Beside him stood a man with a syringe, ready to inject.
The infiltrated ninja was filled with fear and panic, which was evident in his eyes.
"Ahem, attempt number 23 to replicate Wood Release. I'm going to inject the substrate." With that, the scientist in the room injected the First Hokage's modified DNA and ran out of the room.
At first, nothing seemed to happen, but suddenly the man began convulsing uncontrollably. The scientists beside me started taking notes on what they were seeing. I simply made a hand seal to reinforce the room.
Suddenly, the Iwa ninja's body began to mutate: his hands transformed into trees, and the rest of his body followed suit.
A piece of branch flew straight through the window, shattering it. The branches attacked two scientists, killing one instantly and the other while gravely wounded.
"Well, that's new, kukuku. Before, the branches weren't even capable of breaking the window," Pedomaru said.
"It must be because of the modifications. The tree transformation took longer than with the previous rats; it took 12 seconds, a difference of 4 seconds from the last one," I said.
"A great improvement," the snake sannin said sarcastically.
I just glared at him and then went to the dying scientist to save him.
...
During this time, the research has borne fruit, but not in the way one hoped. It's possible to recreate people's bloodlines, but doing something perfect is more complicated.
One example is when they perform Wood Release, where they practically remove a piece of their body and replace it with one containing a large number of Hashirama's cells. It's horrifying, in case you're wondering.
Well, that's something that can be done, and I can achieve it, since I have the ability to regenerate these cells when I interact with them, as they act like a tree or a type of plant. I also researched my own DNA, and it did the same. That's why a genuine Wood Release user can regenerate from such severe injuries.
But the idea isn't to do that, because, however much they regenerate, there's a limit, at least for the people who use it. They can even use their life force to heal. For me, it's not a problem, since my life force is currently the greatest in all of Konoha.
But the idea is to do something natural, or at least avoid using that option.
I presented it to Danzo, which satisfied him somewhat, and he allowed me to continue experimenting to achieve something more perfect.
Regarding the other bloodlines, everything has been decent.
To help you understand, it's very complicated to make a person have more affinity with one element than another, since, from what we were able to detect, it's determined by two factors. The first is the initial nature of chakra one possesses, and the second is birth itself, since there are records of some people in the clan being born without that bloodline.
Some members of the Chinoiken clan don't possess dōjutsu; it's that simple.
Anyway, thanks to that, I myself went through some of the experiments. Looking at my calculations, I saw that I could integrate and obtain the Ice, Storm, and Boil elements.
Knowing how the Kumo types work, I decided to try to obtain the Ice and Boil elements.
The first is mainly in honor of the character design I inherited from the great Esdeath, and the second is for the moment when the Fifth Mizukage melted the Susanoo's armor, something that could be useful in the future if the Uchiha's attempted coup ever happens.
Having different ways to defeat him will greatly affect their egos, which will grant me more years of life—well, if it happens, because if I'm honest, besides Kosuke and Mikoto, the other Uchiha could die, since I'm here as the ultimate proof of strength and fear for the other countries; I just need to make it effective.
Adapting the elements was a bit painful; the easiest was Boiling since I'm more familiar with the Fire element, but it wasn't easy either. To avoid any problems with my DNA, it was a slow process.
The worst part is that I had to do it twice; However, I had to practice the Wind Release for this, so the transfer, the adaptation of the bloodline, was more effective since the first time I tried, I couldn't obtain it. I only had a very small improvement in the Water Release, something that was already very high; it was like adding a grain of sand to the desert.
Currently, I have 60% of the Boiling Release under control, while I was only able to adapt the Ice Release not long ago, so my practice with it is very low.
Besides me, there are only two other bloodline users who weren't born into it. One is a scientist who has the Storm Release, while a Root ninja has the Scorching Release.
This process is very slow since the DNA has to be modified in a way that affects their chakra little by little. The genetics are edited meticulously to avoid causing any problems in the future.
Currently, we are trying to give the Explosive Release to Danzo's highest-ranking Root ANBU.
I should also mention that the monkey doesn't know any of this; I plan to tell him sometime, but not now.
I stared at my hand, beginning to envelop it in chakra until my entire hand turned to ice. This is only thanks to my medical ninja training; otherwise, I wouldn't have such precise control over chakra.
I turned my entire hand into a rather ugly ice blade to try and cut a piece of furniture. I didn't cut it as I intended; I mostly destroyed it since it wasn't really sharp; it was more suitable for stabbing. Creating something as precise as an ice blade is something I simply can't do quickly.
I slumped onto the sofa to reflect on what I've been doing lately.
My company has been growing steadily; I've reached the point where money is no longer an issue.
Daiki and Makoto have made considerable progress; the only one they've taken seriously so far is Daiki, since he's in the ninja clan section.
I know this because Kosuke told me; they're keeping an eye on him, but I don't think they'll do anything to him for now, especially since the Uchiha clan leader is marrying Mikoto today.
If it weren't for Mikoto, I wouldn't be going, since I don't care about the clan's image in these matters; I have other things to do.
That said, I won't be wearing a skirt, a dress, or anything like that; a ceremonial yukata with ninja weapons underneath—that's it.
It was almost time; I just hope there's good food.
...
"Don't you think you were too harsh on him?" I asked, taking a bite of my delicious lemon pie.
"If I want to take Sarutobi's position, I have to eliminate my main rivals; Sakumo was surely next in line to become Hokage if something happened to the monkey," he said in his usual tone, as if everything he said were the logical and rational things to do.
"Look, I understand all that, but with your harsh actions, we lost one of our best military assets, someone who was at least capable of holding off a Kage force, and I know perfectly well that if something happens, neither you nor the monkey will be going to the front lines to take charge in any conflict." My comment left the mummy somewhat speechless.
"How was I supposed to know he'd commit suicide? He just wanted to ruin his status and stop people from praising him; that's all. Sarutobi's partly to blame too; it never even crossed his mind to defend him. He prefers spying on women in his crystal ball," Danzo argued.
"My friend, that's jealousy. Now the question is whether it's jealousy that the monkey could do that or that he likes women and not men," I said mockingly.
"Stop talking nonsense, will you?" he challenged me.
I just kept eating my pie, satisfied with this small victory.
"And you're going to do what I asked. I don't think Pedomaru is a good candidate for the position," I said to him without stopping eating.
The mummy just sighed and threw me a scroll.
I opened it to see that it was the seal for eradicating the cursed tongue.
I just smiled at this.
"I just hope I don't regret this," Danzo said, standing up and leaving.
"That's why you're my favorite uncle," I said, watching him leave the room.
If he gave me this, it only means one thing. I'm now the second-in-command of the Root Anbu organization; it's about time.
That means I can do things with his tools and blame everything on Danzo. I think these are some of the happiest moments of my life. I can already imagine when the old man dies and these guys are under my command.
Also, with this scroll, I can try to learn how to remove the tongue seal, something I can do if I find it necessary to betray Danzo.
Well, now that I've got what I wanted, I'm going to train in the Boiling Release, since it's an element that interests me a lot. With a single touch, I can practically kill 90% of the ninja in this world instantly; that's why Mei Terumi became Mizukage despite appearing so weak on the surface.
But when you only have two battles in the manga, and one is with Sasuke using a single jutsu and the other is with Madara, I think it's normal that poor Mei looked almost useless; the Zetsu ones don't count for me.
