Hachiman's POV
A week after submitting the application, it's May, and I'm finally starting as a team trainer. Among trainers, opinions on me taking this role were mixed, but support outweighed the naysayers. The opposition? Just a few seniors and peers who don't like me. Whatever, doesn't matter.
Today's the first day of team activities, and I've told the members to meet at the club room after school. So far, so good.
Hachiman: "…Alright, off to the academy."
I'm feeling a bit eager, but it's a new chapter in life, so no big deal.
Hachiman: "How did it come to this…"
Air Groove: "What's wrong, Hachiman?"
Hachiman: "Don't 'what's wrong' me… Why are you all waiting at the school gate? I said club room, after school, right?"
CB: "But I wanted to see you, hug you, and get headpats~."
Ardan: "Hehe, CB-san gets it. Anii-sama's headpats feel amazing. So, Anii-sama, could you pat my head?"
Fuji: "Haha…"
Hachiman: "What are you guys on about this early? And Maurice, you're here too?"
Maurice: "Since I'm joining the team today, I thought greeting you in the morning would be better than at the club room."
Pure goodwill… Can't fault her for that.
Rice: "W-Was this a bother?"
Hachiman: "…Nah, don't worry. Let's head to the academy—? What's that?"
Fuji: "Looks like pony-chans running toward us. What's up?"
Arrow: "More like, aren't they coming straight for us?"
…She's right, they're charging this way! Why!? What's going on!?

Hachiman: "Whoa, whoa, hold up!! Stop, stay!! What's going on!?"
"Trainer!? What's this about you being a team trainer!? We didn't hear!"
"Yeah! Since when!?"
Fuji: "Oh, I get it. Word's spread that Hachiman Trainer-san's a team trainer now. That's why it's a circus."
Hachiman: "Huh? How'd the students—…Oh."
I know exactly who'd do this. One person comes to mind.
Hachiman: "That idiot Chairman!!"
I stormed to the Chairman's office, yelling, to get answers. I didn't mind people knowing, but this chaos? She definitely did something.
Knock knock knock
…No answer. Fine, I'm going in.
Hachiman: "Excuse me—…This feels familiar."
Tazuna: "You again!? Why can't you show restraint!? You knew two years ago giant posters were a no-go!!" yank!
Akikawa: "S-Sowwy! T-Tazuna, I'm sowwy!! I apowogize!! Pwease, stop pinching my cheeks!!" flail!
Tazuna: "That's why… You're apologizing to the wrong person!!" yank!
…Kinda kills my urge to be mad.
Tazuna: "Hachiman Trainer, I'm so, so sorry!!" 90° bow
Akikawa: "Weally, so sowwy…" teary
Hachiman: "…I heard, but giant posters this time? Worse than two years ago, huh?"
Tazuna: "Y-Yes… I have no excuse."
Hachiman: "Tazuna-san, you don't need to apologize. But Chairman, nice job pulling it off."
Akikawa: "M-Mm! It's a joyous occasion, so I wanted everyone to know!!"
Hachiman: "Chairman, you realize why I'm here, right?"
Akikawa: "…Sowwy."
Hachiman: "Sigh… Just do normal announcements next time. A single flyer on the bulletin board. Too late now, though."
It's May, and the team's already set to start. No turning back…
Hachiman: "I can't take more members, so I'll turn down hopefuls, but help me put out this fire, okay?"
Tazuna: "Of course! Let me assist!"
Hachiman: "Chairman, you too."
Akikawa: "M-Mm! Leave it to me!"
…First day as a team trainer, and it's already a mess. I give up.
