Chapter 11 - Calabash

Well, who do you think will get full custody of Miwa? Will it be Wukong or Macaque? XD

We get some good Wukong and Miwa time for most of the chapter. :3

__________________________________________________________

*Late at night, over at Monkey King's place.*

Miwa had at some point fallen asleep on the couch, after finally having calmed down from what happened. She felt the exhaustion take over, so Wukong let her sleep in his home for the night.

Wukong had just put a blanket over Miwa's sleeping body before taking a seat on the couch, making sure not to wake her up since she needed time to rest. He had noticed the black eye she had, but hadn't asked her anything about it.

"What memories did you have, for you to be so scared, Peaches?" Wukong placed a hand on her head, and gently stroked it to try and bring comfort.

Wukong let out a small sigh looking at her, still in her human form though with a few changes. She once again had four ears but now she also had two white tails, and her bangs were also white.

Miwa moved slightly in her sleep, tears slowly forming in the corner of her eyes as she was having some kind of nightmare. In her sleep she reached out and grabbed a tight hold on Wukong's shirt, shaking as her nightmare was getting worse.

A concerned look grew on Wukong's face seeing her like this, he didn't like seeing his daughter scared or hurt. Not after everything she has been through, he even considered having her live here in flower fruit mountain with him.

This was her actual home and if she lived here he could keep her safe, and away from any danger. But he couldn't force her to when she still didn't have her memories fully back yet.

Wukong then remembered something, slowly having her hand let go of him before getting up and walking over to an old box with some random old stuff in it.

It didn't wake Wukong long until he found what he was looking for, it was the two plushies Miwa had as a baby. though through the years they had been warned out, but still intact.

Wukong looked at the black plushie that looked like Macaque, frowning slightly at the sight of it. "Might be better if she doesn't remember anything about him, and even if she did it wouldn't change anything. Not with him being dead for such a long time."

Wukong put the black plushie back in the box and walked over to the couch again, gently placing the golden plushie that looked like him, into her hands. "Sweet dreams, Sunshine."

A slight smile grew on Miwa's face, holding the plushie close in her sleep. While Wukong went to his room to get some sleep.

*The next day.*

Miwa slowly started waking up, letting out a yawn rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. Noticing a random plushie in her hands. "Is this my–" She started getting a headache, and looked up only to fall off the couch with a scream. "W-What the fuck?!"

Miwa had been caught off guard when she saw Wukong's face right in front of her, but only then remembered where she was and how she got here.

"Good morning, Sunshine! I hope you had a wonderful sleep." said Wukong with a bright smile on his face, happy to see her finally awake.

Miwa gave him a pouty face and opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out as she closed it and got back on the couch. Not able to make eye contact with him.

"What's up? No good morning to me?" Wukong took a seat next to her, and handed her a bowl of noodles. "Thought you might be hungry, and don't worry this isn't peach flavored."

Miwa still didn't look at him but did give a nod taking the noodles and started eating them, a small smile growing on her face.

For a good while they just sat there not saying a thing, which became an awkward silence between them until Wukong decided to speak up.

"Sooo, how did you get that black eye?" Wukong questioned, thinking that could be a start.

".....An accident." Miwa answered, and kept eating her noodles without saying anything else.

"What kind of accident?" Wukong went on to ask, hoping she would open up more and be ready to talk about what happened yesterday.

Miwa didn't answer him right away, though had stopped eating her noodles. Clearly trying to think about what to tell him. "Fixing my racing bike."

"What happened to your bike?" Wukong took notice of her tails moving ever so slightly, and by the looks of it she didn't seem to know she had them.

"Took some heavy damage in a race, but I still came out winning." said Miwa, with a cocky smile, thinking back to that race.

Wukong smiled seeing the look on her face. "Flying around with me on my cloud when she was little, might be the reason she likes going fast." He gently patted her head.

Miwa froze when he patted her head, but not because she didn't mind it since she had gotten used to it. ".....Da-Wu....Thanks for letting me sleep here for the night."

Wukong raised slightly an eyebrow taking notice of how she was having trouble saying his name, let alone calling him what she used to call him. "It's nothing, Princess, you're always welcome here."

"...I see." Miwa still didn't look at him, but her tails easily showed that she was happy.

"Sunny, how about you tell me about those memories you had yesterday, it must have been something serious since you haven't looked at me once after you woke up." Wukong had noticed her avoiding eye contact and couldn't help but wonder why.

Miwa looked at her empty bowl of noodles before turning her gaze to the old plushie, feeling those vivid memories coming up again. ".....I'm....sorry *sobs* I'm so sorry." Tears had started running down her face, and couldn't stop apologizing.

"Hey, hey don't cry Freckles, and don't apologize." Wukong grew worried seeing her like this and wrapped an arm around her, trying to comfort her so she would stop crying. "I'm sure you have your reason for not being able to look me in the eyes, but you don't have to apologize for that."

Miwa was shaking her head and pushed him away as she finally looked at him with teary eyes. "I'm so sorry for worrying you that much when I was little! *sobs* I was scared and....and *sobs* I just wanted to save you!"

Wukong was shocked to hear her say this, most of all her memories had returned or at least most of them it seemed. "You finally remember my little monkey." A soft smile grew on his face.

Miwa sniffled trying to wipe away her tears. "N-Not everything, but at least some parts...." She had a sad smile on her face looking at him. "...I couldn't look at you b-because I was scared of how to tell you...most of all if you would belie–"

Before she could finish speaking, Wukong pulled her into a hug, happy that she finally opened up to him. "I would always believe you, Freckles, what kind of parent wouldn't believe their own kid let alone remember them."

Tears once more ran down Miwa's face, all the memories of her foster families and how she caused them trouble, and believing she didn't deserve a family. Only to find her real parent still cared about her, and more so to find out it was the Monkey King of all people.

Miwa wrapped her arms around Wukong, hugging him tightly, crying into his chest happy that she remembered him. But there was a small question in the back of her mind, how could she remember something from when she was only three years old. At her age people hardly remember things this far back in their childhood.

".....Wait, you called me little monkey, but I'm not a monkey, I'm a human." Miwa slightly pulled away, looking at him confused.

"No Miwa, you're a monkey like me, but at the moment your monkey form is locked." Wukong went on to point at her tails and ears.

Miwa was surprised when he for the first time called her by her name, instead of any of the nicknames he would normally use. She lifted a hand to feel she had four ears again, and only then did she notice her tails too. Her eyes widened in surprise at this.

"What the actual fuck...." Miwa wasn't sure how to really take this realization of her being a monkey like Wukong.

"No swearing, Peaches, since you now have your memories about me back. I'll not hear that from you." Wukong lightly flicked Miwa's forehead.

"Ow!" Miwa placed a hand to her forehead, glaring angrily at him. "What the hell! You old monkey!"

Wukong raised an eyebrow only to flick her on the forehead again. "No swearing missy, and show some respect for your old man."

"Don't you mean old monkey, you old baboon." Miwa mumbled grumpily to herself, only to get hit in the head by a bamboo. "Ow!"

"I heard that, and I do not appreciate you speaking like that." said Wukong, holding a bamboo he had gone on to make out of his hair.

Miwa started pouting and crossed her arms in annoyance, though giving some time to calm down she let out a sigh. "...D...Dad can we maybe keep this a secret from the other? I don't know how they would take it if they knew we are related."

When she called him "dad" it caught his full attention, hearing her call him that was a slight surprise but was a nice ring to it. "Sure Princess, if that is what you want." said Wukong, but also for another reason was that he didn't want his old enemies to come after her because of him.

Miwa let out a relieved sigh, happy he was alright with them keeping it a secret. "I should probably get back to the others, I'm sure they are worried about me after what happened yesterday."

"Awww leaving your dear old dad already, and here I thought we could spend some good father and daughter bonding time." said Wukong, slightly disappointed that she had to go.

Miwa got up from the couch, rolling her eyes at him with a smile growing on her face. "Maybe another day dad, but not today." She started walking over to the front door and opened it, but stopped for a moment and looked back over at him. "And don't you dare sneak into my apartment again, if you wanna visit at least knock on the door or a window."

"What, can't I come over and surprise visit you let alone check up on how you are doing?. You never come to visit me unless you are here to train with the kid." said Wukong laying on the couch, and eating a bag of peach chips.

"I didn't know you were my dad at that time, so I didn't see a reason to visit you....But I'll try and visit you every now and then, from now on." Miwa smiled and walked out of the house. "Bye dad, take care you don't get fat from eating so many bags of chips. Wouldn't be a pretty look for the so-called Monkey King!"

"Hey!" shouted Wukong but she had already left with the sound of her laughter echoing through the cave. "Such a troublemaker, I wonder who she got that from along with that attitude of hers."

*At Pigsy's Noodles.*

Miwa finally arrived at the shop and slowly got down on the ground, letting out a sigh and opened the door. "Hello?"

"Miwa?!" Tang, Pigsy and Mei were surprised when she came through the door and they all rushed over to her.

"We were so worried about you, we tried calling you but you wouldn't answer!" said Mei with full of concern.

"Since when did you have four ears, and two tails?" Tang questioned, taking notice of the slight difference in her appearance.

"Are you alright Miwa? After you left, Mk tried looking for you but couldn't find you." said Pigsy just as concerned as Mei was.

Miwa raised her hands trying to get some space. "Sorry for worrying you all, I wasn't thinking clearly because of my fear of water. And I just needed some space and time alone to recover."

Her explanation seemed to calm the other but they still felt concerned about how deep her water trauma really was after seeing that reaction from her.

"As for my appearance, yeah that is kind of new to me. Looks like after I started getting new powers, my appearance began changing as well." Miwa rubbed the back of her head with a slight smile. "By the way, where's Mk?"

"Now that you mention it, he has been gone for some hours now." said Mei pulling out her phone to look at the time.

"He went to deliver an order, but why he hasn't returned we don't know." said Tang looking over at Pigsy.

Miwa was getting a bad feeling hearing this, and looked over at Pigsy too. "Do you have the address of where the order came from?"

"Huh? Yeah I have the address written down over at the counter, like all the other times when we got an order. But why you asking?" Pigsy crossed his arms with a raised eyebrow.

Miwa walked over to the counter and it didn't take her long to find the order with the address. "You've gotta be kidding me."

"You know who made the order?" Mei questioned looking over the counter and at Miwa.

"Sorry but I have some business to take care of." Miwa walked out of the shop, and before the others could ask any questions. She changed into a hawk and started flying straight to the location.

*The location Mk was last seen.*

Miwa found the abandoned building and landed in front of the door, changing back to normal. "Those idiots, of all the places they had to use the place we used to hang out in." She banged on the door repeatedly until someone finally opened it.

"Wha–Miwa?!" Jin the golden demon was surprised to see that it was Miwa who had been banging the door. "You look different, did you do something with your hair?" He questioned with a nervous smile.

"Jin, you and your brother are gonna answer me and it's better be the truth." Miwa narrowed her eyes at him, a cosmic aura slowly surrounding her.

"Ummm, sure yeah whatever it is." Jin tried blocking her way from getting into the building, while looking very nervous and it didn't help with the sounds coming from the inside.

"Where the fuck is Mk, and you better not try and act stupid with me." Miwa took a step closer towards him, raising a hand with cosmic energy slowly forming.

"Oh ummm, nope, haven't seen him." said Jin getting more nervous when seeing the cosmic energy in her hand.

"I asked where he was, not if you have seen him." Miwa didn't give him a chance to answer as she formed the cosmic energy around her hand, and punched him right in the guts. Sending him flying back and into Yin.

Miwa walked into the building looking around until she saw the artifact she had helped them steal a few weeks ago. The cosmic aura around her increased and sent a deadly glare similar to Wukong if he was pissed off, towards those two. "You fuckers tricked me into stealing this, just so you could trap Mk inside it."

Jin and Yin hadn't felt such a fearful look on them since the Monkey King himself, and being it came from Miwa scared them even more. Knowing they fucked up big time, if there was one thing she hated more than people arguing it's people betraying her in any way.

"H-h-hey now, let's talk about this, Mimi." said Yin trying to calm the situation.

"I think we are done talking." Miwa placed a hand covered in cosmic energy, and easily broke the artifact like it was nothing.

The moment she broke the artifact Mk came out of it and saw Yin and Jin hiding in a corner shaking in fear of Miwa.

"Who are you?" Mk questioned the two demons, before his attention turned to Miwa. "Mimi! I've been looking everywhere for you!"

Jin cleared his throat. "We're your worst nightmare. Jin."

"Yin." The two brothers tried acting brave and not scared of the glare Miwa was still giving them.

"The Gold and Silver Demons!" Jin exclaimed as they posed dramatically.

Yin turned to glare over at his brother. "Mate, it's silver and gold. Silver and gold."

"I'm not having this conversation again. It's gold and silver." said Jin, not up for repeating this.

"Okay, got it. You're demons. Uh, what am I doing here?" Mk looked around at his surroundings confused.

"We heard about the great Monkie Kid and knew that you would be a worthy adversary." said Jin with an evil grin.

"Yes. And through cunning and guile, we called out to you, and you foolishly... answered." said Yin, having the same evil grin.

*Flashback. Mk is delivering noodles to Yin and Jin.*

"Who is it?" Jin asked when he heard someone knocking on the door.

"Pigsy's Noodles, home of the world's longest–" Mk answered standing by the door.

"He has to answer to his name, remember?" Yin whispered to his brother.

"Oh, yeah." Jin clears his throat. "This app thingy says you have to identify yourself. Is your name "Mk"?"

"Uh, well, I'm currently going by Mk, but it used to be–" Mk gets sucked into the Calabash.

*End of flashback.*

"The Calabash was supposed to contain you forever!" Jin exclaimed.

"At least until we figured out step three." said Yin.

"Right. Uh, but instead, we'll have to destroy you the good old-fashioned way." said Jin, getting ready to fight with Yin.

"You motherfuckers!" Miwa had heard enough and her cosmic energy was going crazy in the building, Mk took a step back, never having seen her this mad before.

Yin and Jin grew pale of the powerful energy Miwa was giving off, it felt almost as powerful as the Monkey King, maybe even stronger. But they didn't want to stick around to figure that out. "Smoke bomb!" They throw down twin smoke bombs and escape to an exit away from Miwa and Mk, but mostly from Miwa.

"M-Miwa are you actually okay? You seem a bit different." Mk nervously placed a hand on her shoulder.

Miwa took a deep breath trying to calm herself down, she turned to look over at Mk giving him a slight smile. "Yeah I'm fine, sorry for making you worry so much. I needed space to calm down."

Mk smiled and pulled her into a big hug. "I'm just happy to see your non-perfect self again."

"I'm sorry what?" Miwa pulled away and gave him an annoyed look.

"I miss that beautiful look on your face when you're annoyed." said Mk smiling at her, but started turning red when he caught on to what he just said.

"W-what?" Miwa's face slowly turned red, and couldn't help but grow a little shy. Not sure how to answer something like that.

Mk nervously laughs rubbing the back of his neck. "I-I should probably get back to Pigsy, hopefully he will start shouting at me for being late."

"Y-yeah that sounds like a good idea, I'll just head back home." Miwa turned around and left the building, changing into a hawk and began flying back to her apartment.

*Miwa's apartment.*

Miwa remembered she left her window open yesterday, so she easily flew inside and changed back to normal.

"Welcome home Starlight, also you're out of milk and fruits." said someone laying on her couch.

"What the fuck?! Not you too Macaque!" Miwa was taken by surprise when she saw him laying on her couch.

"Came to check on you last night, but you didn't show up." Macaque looked over at Miwa and her new appearance caught his attention. "When did that happen?"

Miwa let out a heavy sigh, facepalming herself. "Macaque, I've had two rough days. I'm not up for this shit, so can you please leave."

Macaque raised a questionable eyebrow before getting up from the couch and walked over to her. "Little star, what happened?" He gently touched the back of her ears with a concerned look in his eyes.

".....Me and the others got into some trouble with some spider demons that led to us going through water, and we ended up on the sea. My water trauma affected me seriously bad..... and I needed some space from everything...and everyone." Miwa explained with a sad look in her eyes.

"That bad, huh." Macaque patted her head and had her sit down on the couch.

"Didn't help with seeing random memories and hearing voices I don't know in those memories." Miwa sighs, resting her head against his shoulder. "They gives me such a bad headache each time."

Hearing the mention of her memories caught Macaque's attention, wrapping an arm around her to give comfort. "What kind of memories?"

"It's hard to explain, I see faces of random people, whatever it's a demon or a human or something else. While the voices are different, they all have something in common." Miwa was fidgeting with one of her tails, trying to keep her focus on something else.

Macaque slightly narrowed his eyes as he listened closely. "And what is that?"

"They all made a wish on the wishing stars." Miwa looked up at him with slight confusion and concern.

Macaque was surprised to hear this, but tried to act normal and like he didn't know anything. "That is very strange, if you want I can use a spell that can block or even remove those memories."

Miwa thought hard about his offer, while that would be nice it could also affect the lost memories she had of Wukong, that she was still trying to remember. "No, while the memories are confusing and give me headaches. I wanna find out what those memories means, and why I have them."

"You sure, little star?" Macaque wanted to be sure if that is what she wanted, he didn't want those memories to cause her pain or any more trouble.

"I'm sure, Mac." Miwa closed her eyes, resting her head on his shoulder once more.

"Alright little one, I wouldn't mess with your memories." Macaque grabbed a blanket and put it over her, making sure she was comfortable as he went and closed the window she had left open.

"What does those memories mean? A wish that has random memories from other wishes doesn't make any sense. When I made the wish, she didn't have any memory problems in those three years we had her." Macaque took a glance over at Miwa with a skeptic look.

"At no record I've read has it ever said anything about a wish having such memory problems, what is really going on here?" Macaque couldn't help but wonder what those memories really meant, and why they were first showing up now.
