Chapter 447: Law
Swallow Island—North Blue's obscure, unremarkable island.
Like many islands at sea—though humans inhabited it—because of sparse population, couldn't form a nation's scale.
Generally—such islands would affiliate under nearby kingdoms' command, thus becoming World Government members.
But this ordinary, plain island today welcomed an extraordinary guest.
"Regardless—please sit first."
The white-haired old man named Wolf was this island's famous inventor.
Also the guardian of several formerly famous bad kids on this island.
He never imagined—on this plain, ordinary day—someone he'd never considered would suddenly appear before him.
"Thank you very much. I'll just sit on the floor."
Wolf looked at that man smiling while sitting cross-legged on the ground. Glanced once, immediately lowered his head not daring to look again. Then couldn't help looking once more.
"No need for such restraint."
The cross-legged Brett smiled. "This time I came requesting help. So no need treating me so politely."
"...Stop talking nonsense."
After Wolf took deep breaths, his agitated emotions gradually calmed. He snorted lightly. "Treating someone like you—can't be casual regardless."
This man's name had already spread worldwide. Even him—located on North Blue's remote island—had heard it like thunder.
Truly meaningful monster. Commanding Fish-Man Island—called the Deep Sea Emperor.
Brett smiled. Generally speaking, Wolf-san—your attitude already counted as casual.
"Anyway—"
Brett stretched lazily. "From now on—allow me to trouble you for a period."
"As you like."
Wolf's attitude remained cold. However, after brief silence, he again looked toward Brett.
"Hey, Deep Sea Emperor—you truly won't do anything to Law's group, right?"
Though if this man wanted to do something, he couldn't stop it at all. But inner worry naturally couldn't be erased because of this.
"No need to worry, Wolf-san."
Brett smiled. "I have no need to lie to you, right? If I wanted to—I'd say I want to. I say I don't want to—because I truly don't."
Wolf again fell into silence.
He simply busied himself tinkering with machinery. Completely had no thought of conversing with Brett anymore.
Brett also enjoyed the quiet. Next just needed quietly waiting for Law's group to return.
Time passed two days.
Outside Swallow Island's deep sea—a yellow metal-hulled ship rapidly advanced toward this island.
Undoubtedly—compared to mainstream sea vessels—this ship's technological content exceeded by countless times. It could even travel underwater.
Inside the submarine—a certain man wearing a fuzzy spotted hat stood gravely before the window—gazing at the distant deep sea's gradually discernible island silhouette.
"Captain—"
Behind him—a fluffy white bear looked at him worriedly.
"I'll land alone later!"
The man adjusted his hat, then said gravely. "Bepo, Shachi, Penguin—you stay on the ship. If something truly happens—flee immediately."
"Hey, hey, Captain—you're joking, right!"
Behind—controlling the helm—a hat-wearing man said through gritted teeth. "That's Fish-Man Brett! The Deep Sea Emperor. Wanting to face him alone—"
"This is the Captain's order!"
The man's voice was so resolute.
Thus—everyone fell silent.
Swallow Island. The bored Brett wandered through town.
These two days he'd already visited all towns on this island. After all—truly quite bored.
Wolf-san acted as his guide. Probably also to avoid someone offending him causing trouble.
This man possessed considerable prestige on this island. Everywhere he went, people recognized him. Could say he excellently fulfilled the guide role's function.
However, fortunately—such extremely bored wandering finally ended today.
Brett—constantly monitoring the island's surroundings with Observation Haki—suddenly heard an unfamiliar voice.
His lips curved. "Finally returned."
"Returned?"
Nearby Wolf's expression became somewhat complex.
He didn't doubt Brett was casually talking. First meeting—Brett's displayed abilities truly made his scalp tingle.
"Let's go, Wolf-san. We'll greet him."
Brett led Wolf toward outside town.
This town wasn't particularly massive. Just a few streets. Didn't take too long—already arrived at the town entrance.
From here—looking up—could perfectly see Pleasure Town's sign.
And putting sight downward from the sign—Brett stopped his steps.
On the road outside town—a figure slowly approached.
Compared to Brett—considered short height. Also not particularly robust. Most eye-catching naturally—the spotted hat on his head and the long sword held in hand.
Wolf's expression couldn't help becoming somewhat joyful.
"Law!"
He couldn't help calling the man's name.
"Wolf!"
The arrival stopped his steps. After carefully examining Wolf thoroughly, slowly breathed out.
Then he placed his sight on Brett.
He naturally couldn't see anything from Brett wearing a black robe.
But this didn't prevent him from maintaining vigilance.
Brett noticed his right hand naturally drooped—but palm flipped open facing down. Seemed invisible airflow gathering in his palm.
"Then, Fish-Man Brett—what do you need my help with?"
"Let's find a place to talk properly."
Brett said smiling.
He estimated this moment was precisely the moment Shyarly's prediction saw.
The arrival—Trafalgar Law—after silent contemplation—nodded.
Since already appeared before this man—probably no more choices now.
Law didn't know what degree of power these sea-top powerhouses possessed. But he knew—that already disappeared former Shichibukai Doflamingo possessed what degree of power.
This man was a monster far stronger than Doflamingo!
Thus the three returned to Wolf's house. Brett again sat cross-legged on the ground.
"My apologies, Law-san."
Brett first expressed his apology. "Because of my matter—making you rush back from afar."
After obtaining Law's contact method from Wolf's heart—Brett immediately made a phone call. Then announced his identity, told Law his location.
Incidentally—with emotionally agitated Wolf-san's help warning Law not to return—proved he wasn't lying.
Law noncommittally pulled a chair sitting down. Also didn't speak.
"Since I came requesting help—let me show sincerity first."
Brett said. "As apology compensation—first tell you some news, Law-san."
"You should quite care about that man's news, right? That Doflamingo."
Law's eyes widened.
