Chapter 4 — The Star-Destroying Energy Cannon
The enormous silver ape, towering a full hundred meters tall, tore through the skies of Planet Arant like a living mountain in motion. His massive frame streaked across the horizon, a titan wrapped in silver light, yet his speed defied all logic—swift, sharp, and graceful.
As the silver giant drew closer, the crew of the colossal pirate mothership finally took notice of the approaching Saiyan.
At first, they froze—astonished. A Great Ape that could fly? That was impossible! The Ōzaru form was supposed to be a rampaging beast bound by gravity, not a predator of the skies.
But these pirates were not fools.
The instant Kyūjō's power signature registered on their sensors, alarms blared throughout the ship. Engineers and gunners scrambled to their stations. The ship's massive frontal cannon—a weapon so large it spanned the entire bow—began to charge.
"Star-Destroying Energy Cannon, FIRE!!"
The order roared across the comms.
The entire ship shuddered as the weapon discharged.
A blinding surge of gray-silver light erupted from the cannon, the beam several meters wide and hundreds of meters long. It tore through the air like a spear forged from pure annihilation, aimed straight at the silver Ōzaru soaring above.
Its destructive output was terrifying—enough to pierce straight through Planet Arant itself.
A direct hit would vaporize even Kyūjō's transformed body in an instant.
To withstand such a blast head-on, a warrior would need a power level exceeding 100,000—and Kyūjō was nowhere near that… yet.
Still, despite the devastating energy racing toward him, Kyūjō didn't see it as a threat.
No matter how powerful a weapon was, if it didn't hit, it meant nothing.
And unless those pirates had lost their minds and wanted to destroy Planet Arant entirely—taking Kyūjō and themselves down together—they wouldn't dare fire directly toward the surface.
For someone who possessed Infinity Perception, attacks that required long charge times were the easiest to avoid.
And besides, the pirates had always hesitated to use this cannon in the first place. Its power was so vast that even a slight miscalculation could obliterate everything in range.
Against Saiyans who usually fought on the ground, it was pointless overkill—like firing an anti-aircraft cannon at a mosquito.
Even warriors like Vic, with power levels barely over two thousand, didn't warrant such waste.
But today, for the first time, one Saiyan—the silver Great Ape—had "earned" the honor of facing the Star-Destroying Energy Cannon.

A split second before the beam was fired, Kyūjō moved.
Despite his colossal body, he swerved sideways with the elegance of a giant bird gliding through the heavens.
The beam ripped past him, narrowly missing.
The sky lit up in a blinding flash as the shot continued past its mark, vanishing into space and tearing a trail of glowing dust across the atmosphere.
Inside the ship, the pirates could only stare, slack-jawed.
Even their commander, Lux, froze in disbelief.
They had battled the Saiyans many times before and knew their Great Ape forms well—raging monsters that had long lost all reason.
Those beasts never dodged. They never defended. They attacked blindly, consumed by fury, indifferent to their own survival.
But this one—this silver Ōzaru—was flying.
And not only that… it had just dodged a planetary-level attack.
Impossible.
Before they could recover from their shock, Kyūjō accelerated. In the blink of an eye, his enormous shadow loomed directly over the mothership.
Raising his massive right hand, he extended a single finger. Golden energy swirled around its tip—dense, radiant, and deadly.
Then, with a simple downward motion—he sliced.
A deafening metallic shriek tore through the air.
The main cannon—the pride of the pirate fleet—split cleanly in two. The enormous weapon crashed into the deck below, crushing several unlucky crew members into mangled flesh.
The severed edge of the cannon gleamed under the artificial moonlight—so smooth it reflected the pirates' horrified faces like a mirror.
"...He cut that with a finger?" one whispered, trembling.
If that same finger had pierced the ship's core instead of the cannon, everyone aboard—save for Lux himself—would have been dead in an instant.
And their instincts were correct.
Kyūjō could have destroyed the ship outright.
But he didn't.
He needed it intact.
If this vessel carried even a single star map or navigation log, it could lead him to Earth—his true destination.
Even if it didn't, possessing a ship like this was already a major advantage.
It was time to leave Planet Vegeta's control behind.
The universe was vast. Even if Earth remained out of reach for now, countless worlds awaited exploration—each with its own mysteries and power.
After all, the Dragon Ball universe was far larger than any single storyline. Not every being of power had ever appeared in the canon. There could still be warriors out there—forgotten, hidden, or untold—waiting to challenge him.
And for Kyūjō, whose current power level stood at just 1,900, those battles would be invaluable for growth.
Of course… reaching Earth would still be ideal.
Earth held countless treasures: Senzu Beans that defied death, Ki Control Techniques refined by the masters of Turtle and Crane Schools, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber within the realm of the gods, and even cutting-edge human technology far beyond its era.
Opportunities for evolution were endless there.

Meanwhile, inside the command bridge, silence reigned.
The pirates turned toward their leader.
Lux, seated on his elevated throne, remained calm—too calm.
Slowly, he rose to his feet, the corners of his lips curling into a smirk filled with disdain.
"Heh… Saiyan warriors, huh?" His tone dripped with mockery. "In the end, they're nothing more than arrogant monkeys who think power alone makes them gods."
He cracked his neck, his aura beginning to flare—a deep emerald light that pulsed like liquid fire.
"Stay here and watch," he ordered, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. "I'll show you how to butcher the last of the Saiyan race myself."
Before anyone could respond, Lux vanished.
In an instant, the Namekian pirate leader was gone from the command room.
Outside, high above the mothership, a green figure appeared amid the swirling clouds—
his energy shaking the atmosphere itself.
Lux hovered in mid-air, his arms crossed, his gaze fixed upon the towering silver Great Ape before him.
Two monsters—one born of rage, the other of cold intent—stared each other down across the silent sky of Planet Arant.
The true battle was about to begin.
