Chapter 94: The Contract
The gigantic demon stared at them in silence for a moment.
"Hmm?" Harry then felt something trying to invade his mind. His eyes met with the demon's. 'It's coming from him…' He had no doubt that this demon was trying to get into his mind.
It was the most powerful mental attack he had felt to this date, and he was forced to use his best defenses to avoid revealing his secrets.
"Ahhhh!" Hermione screamed while grasping her head.
"Oh…" Luna clenched her teeth. "Hurts…"
Harry glanced at the girls and understood something. 'I see. It was not an attack.'
A few seconds later, both Hermione and Luna stopped their complaints and fell into silence. The mental assault had stopped.
Harry turned his attention back to the demon. "Can you understand me now?"
The demon moved his eyes to meet his. "Are you the human who called?" it asked in perfect English.
Harry had realized that what he initially felt wasn't really an attack. The demon was trying to delve into their minds to learn about them.
This was likely something it did often and without thinking, so for the demon, it wouldn't be something he considered an act of aggression.
After absorbing what it needed from Hermione and Luna, the demon released them without killing them, despite the fact that it would have been very easy to do for that creature.
Harry stepped forward with no hesitation. "I am the one who sacrificed twenty thousand mortal souls to bring you into my realm. I wish to make a contract."
The demon didn't have many defined facial features, so it was impossible to tell what it was feeling. "I have made many deals with your kind in the past. But it is the first time someone is capable of bringing my physical body outside the Netherealm… I will listen to your proposal."
"I wish for you to command my demons on my behest, protect my fortress, and kill my enemies until the day comes when there are no more of them left. Then you will be released from your duties and you will return to your world of origin without harming me or killing me." Harry had to be very careful with how he worded his proposal so the demon wouldn't turn against him after his role was complete.
"You want me to serve you…" As the demon said this, the temperature in the area started to rise. "Abaddon is no servant!"
"You will not be my servant!" Harry hurried to say. "You will be my General. The one who leads my army. And before you say no, you will want to listen to what I offer in return."
"And what would that be? I have helped humans before, but the price has to be right, and your soul will not be enough for something like this," the demon said.
Humans making deals with powerful demons in exchange for their souls was not something new. But what Harry was asking was for this demon to directly interfere in this realm.
That was unheard of… at least not for high-rank demons.
"Right now, there are almost six billion humans in this world," said Harry. "I will offer you their souls as payment!"
Hermione was still recovering from the mental invasion, but when she heard what Harry said, she felt her blood become ice-cold.
She had to double-check to make sure that she didn't hear him wrong, but it sounded like Harry was planning on committing a mass genocide on an unheard-of scale.
"That's a lot of people… right?" Luna glanced at Hermione.
"That's… everyone. Every muggle, wizard, and witch in the world," Hermione responded.
The giant demon remained quiet for a long minute, as if he was considering what Harry said. "Almost six billion souls… you will need to exterminate your entire race to make that payment."
"I told you it was a generous offer," said Harry with a wide grin on his face. "Will you help me destroy this disgusting world?"
The demon made a gesture with his hand, and a large piece of paper appeared floating in front of Harry.
It was written in perfect English and was easy for him to read.
Even without using any analysis spell, Harry could tell that this was far from a simple paper. There was something powerful in it, but it wasn't magic… it was something else. Something more primitive and dark.
"Humans are fond of written contracts. Isn't that right?" the demon asked. "A drop of your blood will serve as a signature."
Harry made sure he read every word carefully, but it didn't seem like the demon had placed any traps in the contract. It was exactly what he had proposed and had even used the same wording.
Once everything had been checked out, he pricked his finger with a knife and let one drop of his blood fall at the bottom of the paper.
As soon as this happened, the paper disappeared.
"It is done!" the demon exclaimed as his body started to glow in an eerie red light.
They all became blinded for a moment, and the next instant, the gigantic demon appeared to be gone.
"Where did it go?" Hermione asked.
"He is just behind you," Luna pointed out.
"What?" Hermione turned around and found herself face to face with the demon again, but this time, the monstrous creature was just slightly taller than a normal man. "Ahh!" She fell on her butt.
"I believe this size would be more convenient, yes?" Abaddon glanced at them.
"Yes, that would be correct." Harry had been wondering how he was going to fit this demon in Azkaban, so it was a good thing that it was able to alter its size.
"Well then…" The demon's red eyes seemed to glow with more intensity as he glared at Harry. "Where should we begin?"
