Ruan Zeqiu, who was pigging through the leftovers, stiffened and turned to look at his sister. He glanced over his shoulder and said, "You were not calling me stinky, were you, sister?"
"Oh, I was," Ruan Chanchan scrunched up her nose and wrinkled her face. She retreated another small step and fanned her hand in front of her nose. "What did you do today? You smell so bad, Zeqiu."
"I do not stink." Ruan Zeqiu shouted; his voice was filled with exasperation. He couldn't believe that his sister was actually calling him stinky. Was this really the correct way for a sister to treat her younger brother?
"Is that so?" Ruan Chanchan took another step out of the cave, and with her voice filled with disdain, she said to the mer, "Then take a careful sniff and you will know how much you stink."
