Hello, my dearest friends!
I am an Iranian, one who has enthusiastically followed and enjoyed diverse Eastern web novels for many years. Currently, I work as a healthcare professional , where every day I face the challenges and beauties of human life. But today, for the first time, I have stepped into a new arena: writing a novel. This is a special and exciting moment for me , and the genre that has captured my heart is "Kingdom Building" web novels. This genre, blending time travel, reincarnation, and elements such as industry, aristocracy, modern knowledge, army building, politics, and nationalism, has created an infinitely fascinating world for me.
In my opinion, novels of this style can be divided into two main categories:
Fantasy: In this category, the protagonist is reincarnated into a fictional, often medieval, world ; a world with no connection to real Earth, filled with magic, cultivation (especially in Chinese novels), and mythical creatures such as orcs, elves, genies, dwarves, and even dragons. In this world, by introducing modern knowledge and technology, the individual can bring about immense changes and build their empire.
Alternate History: Here, the main character travels from modern times to the past of real history and alters its fate. For example, imagine someone from 2025, where we are now, dying and being reborn as Wilhelm II, the German Emperor, and, with new strategies, completely changing the outcome of World War I.
Sometimes these two categories creatively intertwine, creating a world that is a blend of real history and supernatural elements. For instance, Chinese authors have created a novel like "Mythical Three Kingdoms," in which a person returns to the Three Kingdoms period but is surprised to find a new world before them; a world where people possess supernatural powers.
However, in recent years, a concerning trend has emerged among some Eastern writers, especially from Korea and China. Many of these novels are filled with intense and sometimes extreme nationalism. Stories often depict scenarios where their country conquers the world or flaunts its superiority by humiliating and shaming other nations. This approach, instead of fostering unity and mutual understanding, deepens cultural divides.
My aim in writing this novel is to challenge this extremist viewpoint. I want to show that excessive nationalism is not only unfair but also unproductive. Every country and nation, including Iran with its glorious 7000-year history, possesses a rich culture and unique identity that deserves respect and appreciation. Our history and culture, with deep roots in the Achaemenid, Sasanian, and other dynasties, should not be ignored or despised. This novel is an attempt to proudly portray this heritage, while respecting the cultural diversity of other nations.
I hope that with this work, I can promote a more balanced perspective ; a perspective that, instead of divisive narratives, celebrates appreciation and mutual understanding of diverse histories and cultures. This writing journey is not just a literary experience for me, but an opportunity to share a message of peace and solidarity. With you, my companions, I embark on this path, and I sincerely hope you enjoy this story.
