Sishu swung his Nichirin Blade, and a swirling vortex of fire appeared in mid-air. With scorching heat, it slammed heavily into the pillar of air.
With a roar, the air pillar was shattered, revealing Kokushibo's figure. His body had expanded, and the demon blade in his hand had undergone a major transformation. Previously, its length and shape were similar to a Nichirin Blade. But now, it was over a meter long, covered with branch-like blades, and pulsing with living flesh. It was a true alien blade!
So this is Kokushibo's trump card.
Sishu carefully observed the evolved demon blade and noticed that while it was different from the one in the Infinity Castle arc of the original story, it already had the general shape. It made sense; the demon blade evolved with Kokushibo's strength, and at this stage, he hadn't reached that level of power yet. The number of Moon Breathing forms he knew was far less.
But with the evolved demon blade, Kokushibo's techniques were greatly amplified.
Moon Breathing, Seventh Form: Mirror of Misfortune, Moonlit
Swinging the evolved demon blade, five giant shockwaves traveled along the ground. As they advanced, smaller, curved shockwaves branched off, cutting into the earth. Wherever the shockwaves passed, the ground cracked as if hit by a once-in-a-century earthquake. The power of the evolved demon blade was terrifying!
Faced with the approaching shockwaves, Sishu moved. As if committing suicide, he charged straight towards them. The other demons who saw this suspected that this human had been scared out of his mind. A savage grin appeared on their faces, and they rushed towards him. Since this was an opponent that required Kokushibo to personally deal with, he must be a major figure. And at a time like this, these ordinary demons wanted a piece of the pie. If Muzan was in a good mood and gave them more blood, it would be a true leap to heaven.
With this thought, these demons charged fearlessly, swinging their weapons at Sishu.
Kokushibo was initially puzzled. Had Sishu really been frightened by his evolved attack? But then, he saw the sly, triumphant smile on his opponent's face.
Not good!
The hair on his body stood on end. Kokushibo realized that he and the other demons had fallen into a trap. Before he could say anything, Sishu, who had been charging towards the shockwaves, drew his Nichirin Blade.
Then, his figure vanished. In its place, a dragon of fire appeared on the battlefield. Its fiery body contained immense heat, and its scales and whiskers were so detailed they were visible to the naked eye. The fire dragon danced, weaving through the demons and shockwaves. It moved as if in an empty realm, with not a single attack landing on it. The demons it coiled around and devoured were all engulfed in sun-like flames.
Sun Breathing, Eleventh Form: Sun Halo Dragon Head Dance
As a high-speed consecutive slash technique, the Eleventh Form was perfect for situations with multiple enemies. Sishu had even improved upon the original, incorporating some features of the Fourth Form: Fake Rainbow. The combination of the two resulted in the attack he had just delivered.
The flames dissipated, and Sishu was revealed once more. The situation on the battlefield had drastically changed. The demons who had tried to attack Sishu had all been turned to ash. This single move had wiped out more than half of the demons brought by Muzan and Kokushibo. Not only that, but Kokushibo's attack hadn't even touched Sishu; instead, it had become the bait for Sishu's trap.
After the attack, the system's notification sounded in Sishu's mind.
Muzan has left the battlefield. Over seventy percent of the demons have been eliminated. The Demon Slayer Corps' annihilation crisis has been resolved.
Mission complete. Reward has been sent.
Congratulations, Host. Unlocked Transparent World (3/3).
Transparent World has been unlocked!
The moment he heard this news, Sishu felt a current of energy flow through his body. His non-essential organs shut down, leaving only those optimized for combat. In Sishu's eyes, Kokushibo's body also changed. It was as if he had an X-ray machine in his eyes; his opponent's body became transparent. The rhythm of his breathing, the tension and torsion of his muscles, even the flow of blood in his veins—all were laid bare before him.
So this is the Transparent World.
He couldn't help but marvel, a flash of excitement in his eyes. Since the mission was complete, it meant the system had determined that Kokushibo could not annihilate the Demon Slayer Corps with him present. And now that he had awakened the Transparent World, his strength had soared once again. In this situation, it was even more impossible for Kokushibo to wipe them out.
While Sishu was comprehending the Transparent World, a strange feeling washed over Kokushibo. It was as if he had been stripped naked and thrown into a box to be played with; he felt all his secrets were being seen by Sishu. This feeling was just like when he was a child, and Yoriichi would observe him.
Could it be?!
A thought emerged in his mind, and Kokushibo's six eyes were filled with horror.
However, before he could react, Sishu moved first.
Sun Breathing, Twelfth Form: Flame Dance
He delivered a fiery slash from the front, then stepped forward and delivered another from behind, creating a pincer attack.
Kokushibo saw that the situation was not good and prepared to use the Fifth Form again for defense. But after landing, Sishu used Sun Breathing again.
Ninth Form: Setting Sun Transformation
He instantly flashed into mid-air and delivered a horizontal slash from an inverted position. The flame-wreathed blade closed in on Kokushibo's head, threatening to burn it to ashes.
Moon Breathing, Ninth Form: Waning Moonswaths
With a fierce look, Kokushibo slashed wildly at the air. Countless chaotic slashes intertwined, forming several blade winds. The blade winds collided with the Nichirin Blade, causing a massive explosion.
Smoke and dust scattered, obscuring Sishu's vision. He frowned, knowing the fight was over. Although he felt his last attack had connected, it was clear it wasn't a fatal blow. By his estimation, it had probably only cut about a third of the way through. For a demon of Kokushibo's level, such an injury was not something he couldn't recover from.
So be it. There's still a long time. We can settle the score later.
He sheathed his sword. But just then, a line of characters on the ground caught his eye.
