Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Starting with a Great Swordsman System, My Master is Yoriichi Tsugikuni

It was the dead of winter. A recent snowfall had draped the world in a thin, silvery-white film. Despite the frigid temperatures, the final match of the World Swordsmanship Tournament proceeded without a hitch.

Inside the national stadium of the Huaxia Nation's capital, the championship battle was reaching its climax.

On the competition floor, a young man was unleashing a fierce assault on his opponent, Hans. The attacker had short black hair and an exceptionally handsome face, with eyes as deep and mysterious as a starry sky. A faint smile played on his lips as he launched his attacks, completely unflustered.

His footwork was like a nimble serpent, effortlessly dodging his opponent's strikes.

Then, the wooden sword in his hand transformed, pouncing like a fierce tiger. A single blow sent his opponent flying to the edge of the arena.

Seeing he was on the verge of defeat, Hans's eyes turned bloodshot, glaring as if he wanted to tear the young man apart.

Damn it, this guy's swordsmanship is stronger than God's! How could the Huaxia Nation produce someone like Si Shu? I can't win against him! This guy… he's a monster!

Though he desperately wanted to surrender, the thought of the consequences of failure made Hans abandon the idea. He secretly pulled a small metal plate from his clothes. At an extremely tricky angle, Hans flung the plate forward.

Die, you monkey! The title of World Champion is mine!

Watching the metal plate fly at high speed, Hans's eyes filled with a crazed excitement. Although the plate was thin, if it struck a vulnerable area like the eyes, it could easily cause permanent injury or even death.

When the audience saw Hans's despicable tactic, they erupted in fury.

"What a piece of trash! Playing dirty because you can't win!" "Get out! You don't deserve to be in this competition!" "Referee?! Get out here and call a foul!"

Some of the calmer spectators managed to suppress their anger, their concern now focused on Si Shu's safety. As the most talented genius from the Huaxia Nation in nearly a thousand years, Si Shu was their last hope for winning the world championship.

Si Shu was their light.

The reflection of the speeding plate flickered in his eyes. Si Shu sighed softly.

"And here I was, wondering what your trump card might be. Turns out, it's just cheap tricks."

A cold sneer touched his lips. Si Shu stomped his left foot hard on the floor and raised the wooden sword, gripping it with both hands.

With a thunderous BANG, the wooden sword swung down.

Slash!

The wooden sword cutting through the air created a piercing sonic boom. A pale white arc of energy—a slash of pure force—shot out from the blade and instantly shattered the metal plate. Without losing any momentum, the slash continued onward, flying towards Hans like a vicious demon.

The audience and the announcer saw this and went into a frenzy.

"Sword qi! That's sword qi!" "The legendary sword qi of Huaxia! It has appeared once again in Si Shu's hands!"

In stark contrast to the crowd's wild excitement, Hans was under immense pressure. All his attempts to block were useless; he could only watch helplessly as the arc of energy flew toward him.

"NO!"

Hans raised his wooden sword in front of him, attempting to block the attack head-on. But the moment they made contact, the pale white slash shattered the fragile wooden sword and slammed into Hans, sending him flying out of the arena.

His nearly two-meter-tall body was embedded into the wall. Flesh and blood flew from his chest and limbs, making it look as if he had been through a slaughterhouse. His head lolled to the side, and he passed out.

The referee, who had witnessed everything, stood with his jaw on the floor. He had to slap himself hard across the face to snap back to reality.

Clutching his now-red cheek, the referee announced the results.

"The winner is... Si Shu of the Huaxia Nation! Let's congratulate this eighteen-year-old prodigy on becoming this year's—and history's—youngest-ever champion! Not only that, but he has also demonstrated the legendary sword qi of Huaxia! Let's give him a massive round of applause!"

Amidst the thunderous cheers, the award ceremony concluded. Si Shu received his gold medal and the honor he had earned.

On the way back, with a blade of foxtail grass dangling from his mouth, Si Shu began to plan his next move.

"It's finally over. I can finally relax. I think I'll go home and re-watch the Demon Slayer movie."

Sword training was grueling work, and Si Shu had his own ways of unwinding.

As he was crossing a public square, a group of children having a snowball fight threw a few snowballs in his direction. Acting on pure instinct, Si Shu moved. The soft blade of grass in his mouth became like a razor-sharp sword, slicing the snowballs in half.

As he cut through the last one, his keen senses screamed that something was wrong.

Inside it was a rock covered in sharp spikes.

"What the hell?!" Si Shu cursed aloud the moment he saw it. "Whose damn brat are you?! Is this how your parents taught you to have a snowball fight?! Don't they know that kids who put rocks in snowballs grow up with no friends?!"

The moment the rock struck him on the forehead, a strange voice echoed in his mind.

[Suitable host detected. Initiating integration with the Great Swordsman System!] [Commencing teleportation. Countdown beginning...] [3...] [2...] [1...]

Before Si Shu could even process what was happening, his vision went black, and he lost consciousness.

[30%... 60%... 100%...] [Integration complete. Host is slowly waking up.] [Newbie Gift Pack has been delivered. Please select a voice pack: Unlucky Version / Lucky Version.]

Stimulated by the voice in his head, Si Shu slowly opened his eyes.

He was no longer surrounded by familiar skyscrapers, nor was he staring at the white ceiling of a hospital. A bright sun hung high in the sky. Towering, emerald-green trees stretched towards the heavens, and the scent of rich earth filled his nostrils.

"How did I end up in a forest?"

The moment he tried to speak, Si Shu realized something was terribly wrong. All he could produce were the "goo-goo gaa-gaa" sounds of a baby. His arms and legs felt much shorter, as if they had shrunk.

"What the hell?! I've turned into a baby!"

Realizing his current predicament, Si Shu felt as though a flock of crows had just flown over his head.

"Seriously? What kind of ridiculous starting scenario is this?!"

"Whatever," he thought. "Might as well see what's in this 'Newbie Gift Pack'."

His powerful mental fortitude allowed him to calm down instantly, his focus shifting to the so-called gift. Based on the thought that he couldn't possibly get any unluckier, Si Shu chose the "Unlucky Version" voice pack.

[Loading Unlucky voice pack... Load successful.] [Due to your ridiculously stupid method of transmigration, the system took pity on you and has granted you: Basic Swordsmanship.] [Due to your utterly pathetic situation, the sympathetic system has granted you: Basic Physical Arts.] [Because your current appearance is so laughable, the system, currently convulsing with laughter, has granted you: Basic Cooking.]

[Basic Swordsmanship: 0/1000] [Basic Physical Arts: 0/1000] [Basic Cooking: 0/1000] [1000 points required to advance to the next stage.]

[Quest: Swing a blade 100,000 times before the age of ten.] [Current Swing Count: 0/100,000]

Si Shu felt his face twitch. Now he understood what the "Unlucky" voice pack meant. It was basically a narrator designed to roast him.

"And what's with Basic Cooking? Am I supposed to cook for myself as an infant?! The most absurd part is this swinging quest. One hundred thousand times?! Are you kidding me?!"

While he knew the system wouldn't assign an impossible task, Si Shu still felt a dull ache in his gut.

Just as he was pondering what to do next, a figure emerged from the nearby bushes. As the man drew closer, Si Shu found his appearance strikingly familiar.

His eyes were like a pool of still water, seemingly undisturbed by anything in the world. He had long, black-and-red-tipped hair tied back, and he wore Hanafuda-like earrings that served as protective charms. But most notably, on the left side of his forehead, was a deep crimson, flame-like mark.

"Tsugikuni... Yoriichi Tsugikuni?!"

At that moment, Si Shu understood. He had transmigrated into the world of Demon Slayer.

In a world filled with both immense danger and incredible opportunity, he felt the blood in his veins begin to boil with excitement.

I will achieve new glory in this world! I will become the number one in the world! The strongest swordsman!

Noticing the baby at his feet, Yoriichi Tsugikuni bent down and gently picked him up. To find an infant in such a deserted place... even he found it unbelievable.

"Uta left me not long ago," Yoriichi whispered, his voice soft and heavy with emotion. "And now, you appear before me. Is all of this... the will of Heaven?"

Yoriichi held Si Shu tightly in his arms, his body trembling slightly. Even as a baby, Si Shu could clearly feel the profound emotion stirring in Yoriichi's heart.

"From now on," Yoriichi said, his voice firm yet gentle. "You will be my disciple."

Yoriichi turned and began to walk, carrying Si Shu away. And Si Shu, looking up at the man holding him, murmured in his heart.

"My era... is about to begin!"
