Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 103
As Karlos contemplated, he saw a big yacht approaching the bay harbor, moving steadily across the calm water like a white beast. Almost every fishing vessel had sailed, so the harbor was quiet with a wide space.
Karlos narrowed his gaze and confirmed that this yacht differed from the super yacht Roman had used last time. It had a lower hull, a good height for fishing. The yacht was slightly smaller but enough to accommodate 100 people without a problem.
Once the yacht had docked, Karlos stepped onto the yacht and was greeted by foreigners from different countries, each wearing vacation clothing. Based on their appearances, it was obvious that these foreigners were wealthy and probably influential in their respective industries.
There were 21 foreigners and three interpreters aside from Karlos. Roman nodded at him and talked to him about his job. It was simple: just ensure the foreigners don't feel bored and maintain a pleasant environment for the entire duration of the trip. Karlos nodded.
The yacht set sail. They had no intention of going far, just a few dozen kilometers away from the shore, enough to reach deeper waters where bigger fish could roamed. The yacht was big enough to accommodate 20+ fishermen and to allow them to fish in different sections of the yacht.
Right at the moment, the party started. The crew members had prepared alcohol and dishes for the event. This was nothing but sports fishing, and about half of the foreigners had already set their fishing rods, waiting for a catch. Whatever they caught, they owned it. With a table and chairs, and a cold storage box for fish, they were happily chatting while enjoying the pleasant sea breeze.
Karlos was stationed at the back of the yacht, responsible for talking to the Japanese. So far, they were talking about what fish would be great for sashimi. Of course, Karlos offered his experience. The Japanese were surprised that Karlos was actually a fisherman. Out of curiosity, they gave him a fishing rod. They had a spare one and insisted he join the fun.
As they conversed, Mr. Josuke's fishing rod slightly trembled and he immediately stood up from his chair, almost knocking it back from excitement. He laughed and grabbed the fishing rod.
"Oh, this one seems big."
Fishing was Mr. Josuke's hobby, and when Roman invited him to fish, he didn't hesitate. Unexpectedly, he was the first guy to catch a fish in their group.
His four other friends, all Japanese, clicked their tongues and teased him.
"Old man, are you sure about that? Maybe you just caught a seaweed."
"Hahaha!"
"Hmph! Let's see about that."
Mr. Josuke scoffed and reeled the line. Being experienced, he controlled his strength and adjusted his grip. However, even he was surprised because this fish seemed to be big. Even his friends slowly became serious as they realized how big the fish was based on how the fishing rod bent.
"Old man Josuke, this one might be a big fish." They talked and waited for the fish to show up, leaning closer to the edge to catch the first glimpse.
A few minutes later, a silhouette surfaced in the water.
"That's a huge fish!"
They were surprised, almost speechless, as the size became clearer.
Mr. Josuke laughed as he wiped his sweat.
"Damn, this fish is strong. Probably one of the biggest fish I have caught." He grinned despite his exhausted expression. He smugly grinned at his friends, which made them jealous.
"Damn it!"
"I won't accept that you're the only one who can catch a fish."
"Kukukuku!"
Mr. Josuke laughed like a character from One Piece or something. He showed a mocking grin at his friends.
They gritted their teeth and recast their fishing rods, hoping that they would get lucky.
Karlos watched their interactions and said a few things, mostly polite encouragements and comments about local fish.
As for Mr. Josuke, he huffed as he slowly reeled in the weakened fish. It was big and obviously heavy, and he sweated hard. Once the fish escaped the water, Karlos was prepared and immediately hauled the fish using a long pole that had a hook, specifically made to grab big fish.
Mr. Josuke smiled widely as he looked at the fish, his eyes sparkling as if he'd won a prize. He had been fishing for years, and this fish was definitely one of his biggest catches. No wonder he was happy. However, being a person from Sushi country, he didn't have extensive knowledge regarding the fish in the Adobo country. The best example was right in front of him, Mr. Josuke didn't know what fish he had caught, though he admired its vibrant colors.
"This is a Humphead Wrasse," Karlos informed Mr. Josuke.
"Oh, you recognized this fish, Karlos?"
"Yes, sir. This fish is actually rare and expensive. Congratulations, Mr. Josuke. Even in our fish port, this fish is a rare delicacy."
Karlos couldn't help but be envious, imagining how much money such a fish could earn if brought to the fish port.
"This fish costs 6,700 pesos per kilogram. This Humphead Wrasse is about 1.6 meters long, probably weighing 45 kilograms. Sir, that's 310,500 pesos if you sell it. If converted to dollars, that's about $6,700. Congratulations, sir."
The more Mr. Josuke heard Karlos' statement, the wider his smile got. With a smug look on his face, he made fun of his friends.
"Look at that! $6,700! In just one cast, I caught an expensive fish."
"Tch, fucking braggart."
"$6,700? Hah, I earn that amount per minute, nothing to be proud of."
"You're just jealous, haha!"
As Mr. Josuke laughed, one of his friends also caught a fish.
"Look, look, I also caught one!"
The man's fishing rod was also bending hard, just like what happened to Mr. Josuke earlier, though his technique seemed slightly more frantic.
"Jotaro-san, it seems like your fish is also big."
"I bet it's still smaller than mine." Mr. Josuke believed that catching a 1.6-meter fish was already the best catch today, and it was his.
"Josuke, teme, you bastard, let's see if you can still smile like that once I catch this fish!" Mr. Jotaro glared at Mr. Josuke. He put his attention to the fish, slowly pulling it closer. Based on how strongly it fought back, Mr. Jotaro had to relax his grip, or else the line would snap, and Mr. Josuke would make fun of him, which was the last thing he wanted.
"Sir, let me take a picture for you."
A crew member appeared and talked to Mr. Josuke about taking pictures with the fish. Karlos translated what the crew member said, ensuring the details were clear and accurate.
"Picture? Of course, haha, I want a picture. Make sure to deliver the pictures to my hotel room later."
Karlos translated what Mr. Josuke said and the crew member nodded.
Mr. Josuke, with all his strength, carried the fish, huffing. Karlos was there to help him in case he couldn't carry it completely.
The crew member took pictures of Mr. Josuke, and in the pictures, Mr. Josuke was smiling happily. He had just achieved one of the greatest victories in his fishing life.
