Night settled over the mansion, its halls glowing softly under conjured lantern-light. Kaelthar had chosen his attire with Akeno's insistent guidance, finally settling on the crimson and silver coat that carried both dignity and restraint. The weight of the garment felt right, as though it carried a silent promise for the night ahead.

The plan was simple: meet Rias's parents, stand tall, and keep his word. Yet Kaelthar knew well enough that nothing in this world—or any world—was truly simple.

As the hours slipped by, Kaelthar's attention kept tugging toward the edge of the mansion's wards. He'd sensed it since late afternoon—a presence testing the boundaries of his creation, careful but persistent. Whoever it was, they weren't simply wandering by. They wanted in.

By nightfall, the pressure increased, steady as a knock that refused to be ignored.

Kaelthar sat in the grand hall, one hand resting against the armrest of his chair, eyes closed. Akeno and Koneko sat nearby, each pretending to be relaxed but keeping their awareness sharp.

Finally, Kaelthar spoke, his voice calm but edged. "She's been scratching at the wards long enough. Let her through."

The mansion shimmered faintly in acknowledgment of its master's command. A pulse rippled through the air, and then—light flared at the center of the hall. A magic circle carved in sigils of the Gremory crest unfolded, spinning slowly before bursting outward in crimson radiance.

When the light receded, a tall woman stood before them.

Her silver hair gleamed like moonlight, flowing down to her waist. Her figure was statuesque, wrapped in a maid's uniform that hugged her generous curves almost too perfectly—ample chest straining subtly against the fabric, slender waist accentuating her presence, long legs poised in black stockings and heels. But her aura was what marked her most: composed, sharp, and cold as steel.

The woman exhaled softly, murmuring under her breath, "Finally… I've entered."

Her voice was refined, almost melodic, but edged with quiet relief.

Kaelthar's golden eyes opened, locking onto her. "Who are you?"

Akeno rose smoothly, bowing her head slightly toward the newcomer. "Kaelthar… this is Grayfia Lucifuge. She serves as the Gremory family's head maid—and as Sirzechs Lucifer's queen."

Koneko added bluntly, her golden eyes unwavering, "She's been part of Rias's household since before I can remember."

Grayfia's sharp gaze swept the room, finally resting on Kaelthar. There was no fear in her eyes, but a flicker of recognition—she could feel the weight behind him.

Kaelthar didn't rise, nor did he avert his eyes. He studied her as if peeling away layers of reality itself, his presence steady and unmoving.

"Grayfia Lucifuge," he repeated evenly. "You've been pressing against my mansion all day. Why?"

Grayfia straightened, her silver hair catching the lantern light, her chest rising with a slow breath. She met his gaze without flinching, her voice calm but carrying the tone of one who bore countless secrets.

"That," she said carefully, "is a conversation better had without walls listening."

The silence that followed stretched, the air heavy with anticipation.

Kaelthar leaned back in his chair, one hand resting beneath his chin as he considered her.

And then, with a faint, almost imperceptible smile, he said, "Very well. Speak, then."
