Kai looked in shock as students were being attacked by wild vines all across the ground, he glanced and saw a strange creature formed of vines, it was two meters tall with vines coming out of its body. That creature was the source of all the vines that were attacking the students.
Kai looked at the knife in his hand and clenched his fist tight running towards the vine creature. The creature had a pair of flowers on its deformed face that seemed to act as eyes as the flowers turned towards and the creatures entire body followed.
A thick vine flew straight at him a second later, aiming for his head, but he quickly bent backwards barely dodging the vine as the wind whipped his face. He quickly regained balance and continued his sprint.
A vine that had grabbed onto a boys leg suddenly whipped wildly sending the boy flying straight at the sprinting Kai. Kai lept upwards as the boy flew beneath him and bashed his head against a hard tree blood splattering on its surface.
Kai reached the vine creature and jumped into the air as he clenched the knife in both fists aiming for the creatures misshapen face. But as he brought the knife down he felt a sharp tug on his leg as his body was slammed against the ground causing him to spit blood, successfully ending his attack.
He lay on the ground desperately gasping for air and coughing up blood, he looked up at the creature as a large vine cradles him in its tight grasp and started to squeeze his body tightly. He felt the oxygen leave his lungs as his chest tightened, his ribcage compressing under the strong force, coming closer and closer to shattering.
"Uggghhh" he groaned softly as he found it hard to even speak right now. 'No I can't die now, all of this suffering just to die here, no.'
He thought to himself with unwillingness.
'No I won't I must...' his vision became blurry his thoughts sluggish as his heart thumped slower and slower. The life leaving his tired body. The vine creature saw its prey slumping in its tight grasp and started to loosen it, but as soon as it began to release its grip, the vine was forcefully pushed open as the figure held by it shot forward giving the creature a hard punch on its face.
The creature flailed its smaller vines attempting to hit it's target but it want fast enough as Kai dashed away grabbing the fallen knife on the ground. He went away a couple more meters before returning around and facing the vine creature with malice in his half red, glowing eyes.
The vines on the ground flinched away from him as the vine creature felt a sense of silent power and threatening danger coming from his body now that caused it to feel cautious.
You want to kill me, huh?" Kai lowered his stance. "Well as they say in Japanese, Ore Gambare Gambare." He said as a grin formed on his face and he flicked his fingers back and forth at the monster.
The creature seemed agitated by his gesture and sent multiple vines flying towards him. His eyes glanced across the vines and then shot forward quickly, his speed greater than before. He dogded the vines skillfully as he got closer and closer towards the creature, a thin vine shot towards his legs to tip him off balance but he spotted it jumping off the ground to dodge it.
The rest of the vines flew towards him as he was vulnerable in the air, but his body spone grabbing onto one of the vines and using it as leverage to throw himself at the vine creature crossing the rest of its vines leaving it defenseless. His knife flashed in the air as he smiled wide and sliced off one of its eye flowers as the vines flailed in pain, his feet landed on the ground and with a quick turn he plunged the knife straight into the spot where its eye flowers was.
Dark green liquid splashed out of the wound onto him as the creatures vines fell powerlessly and its body fell. He started to laugh wildly towards the sky but suddenly took in large breaths as he turned and clutched his head in pain. The feeling of power was exhilarating but he felt that he was loosing himself in it and changing.
While he was thinking about the strange phenomena the vine creatures body rose up as all of its vines snapped towards Kai at the same time wrapping around his struggling form containing him it's grip tightened as Kai coughed up blood. 'It isn't dead' he thought as he struggled hopelessly for his life.
The creature was stronger than him so no matter how much he struggled he would still be trapped. But several meters away within a tree a figure watched the skeptical unfold with a beautiful bow in its grasp, it's slender fingers pulled the bowstring as a blue ethereal arrow formed on it ready to be fired.
The arrowhead was sharp as the figures eyes flashed sharply before releasing the arrow. The creature was struck in the back as the arrow exploded into blue sparks. The creature was stunned for a second, long enough for another figure to appear with a burning longsword in its grasp as it slashed at the vines holding Kai.
The longsword sliced through the vines as Kai's body fell powerlessly to the ground as he felt his consciousness slipping as the figure holding the longsword started to battle the creature with graceful attacks as arrows flew out from the thick forest striking the creature with frightening precision.
He couldn't hold on anymore as his mind faded and his eyes closed shut.
