Bianca's POV
I stormed through the police station, fury radiating through every step. The forensic report on my tablet confirmed what I'd suspected—Gideon Thorne died from massive blood loss after impalement. The puncture wound's trajectory indicated someone had pushed him with considerable force.
All evidence pointed to Elara.
Captain Donovan's voice thundered from the interrogation room as I approached. When I pushed open the door, the sight before me made me freeze. Elara sat handcuffed at the metal table, her face ghostly pale under a blinding spotlight. Tears streamed down her face, and she was visibly shaking.
"What the hell is going on here?" I demanded.
Donovan turned, scowling. "Dr. Pierce. You're interrupting an interrogation."
"This isn't interrogation. This is torture." I marched to the wall and flipped the switch, killing the spotlight. "You know this is illegal."
