Chapter 136 - We are Family.

The private jet touched down in London under a pale morning sky. Zayan and Nora were finally home. The drive back to the estate was quiet, peaceful—Nora still asleep in the backseat, wrapped in warmth and calm.

As they arrived at the mansion, Aveline and Catalina rushed outside, their eyes widening with joy at the sight of Zayan holding a tiny bundle wrapped in soft blue.

"His name is Liam," Zayan said softly, his eyes full of pride and wonder. "Baby Liam."

The family erupted into joyful cheers. Even the walls of the mansion seemed to embrace the new life brought into the world.

But the celebration was short-lived.

Aaila stepped inside the room to check on Nora—and froze. Her voice shook.

"Ash… Ash! Come quick!" she yelled.

Asher and Zayan rushed in, hearts pounding.

"She's not moving," Aaila whispered, her face pale. "She's breathing… but she's not waking up."

Zayan's body went cold. His heart sank as panic overtook him.

"Get the car!" he barked, his voice cracking.

They rushed Nora to the hospital. Injections. Monitors. Bloodwork. Tests. The machines hummed and beeped, but none of it brought peace to Zayan's soul.

Hours passed like years.

Then… her fingers moved. Her eyes fluttered open.

"Z…" she whispered weakly, her voice barely audible.

Zayan leaned closer, eyes wide with hope.

"I don't know if I'll make it," she said, breathing slowly, her strength fading. "But I beg you… our babies… take care of them. Please. I'll try to get better—I swear. Just promise me."

Tears spilled down Zayan's cheeks. "I promise you, Nora. I'll protect them with everything I have. Just don't leave me… don't leave us…"

She smiled softly, pain etched into her expression. "Be cold to the world… but not to them. Not to our kids…"

Her voice trailed off. Her eyes closed.

"Nora? …Nora?! NORA!!" Zayan cried, shaking her gently.

Doctors rushed in. Machines beeped faster. Arion entered moments later, pulling the team together.

"She's not dead," he said gravely. "But she's in a coma."

The room fell silent.

Asher punched the wall, his voice filled with rage. "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN A COMA?!"

Shaw held onto Zira tightly. The boys—frozen, shocked, broken.

Zayan sat in silence, his heart shattered. He remembered Nora's words. Take care of them… always be together…

"How?" he whispered, gripping Asher's hand. "How do I do this without her?"

Asher knelt beside him. "She's strong, Z. She'll wake up. She has to."

The entire family gathered, even the gang. They placed their hands together and spoke as one:

"We are family."

That night, Zayan returned home. He found the twins sleeping beside baby Liam, their small hands resting gently on the infant.

Zayan walked over, eyes burning with silent tears.

"I swear to you, Nora," he whispered, kneeling beside them. "I will take care of them. No one will ever replace you. Never."

And with those words, the devil in Zayan stirred once again—retreating into the darkness, cold and quiet… but always watching.

The next morning, Zayan sat beside Nora in the hospital, her hand in his.

"Good morning, my love," he said, placing a gentle kiss on her fingers. He stroked her cheek, her skin cold but still full of life.

What Zayan didn't know… was that a miracle was about to unfold.
