She was perched at her desk, flipping through files like she owned the place. Technically, she kind of did—the boss's favorite, always ahead of deadlines, always perfect.

I wiped my sweaty palms on my pants.
"Hey, Layla," I began.
She didn't even look up. "Yeah?"
"The new project files… I could help you with them," I offered, voice cracking slightly.
Finally, her eyes lifted, icy blue and unimpressed.
"You?" she deadpanned. "Since when are you helpful?"
Ouch.
But the System whispered tips in my mind. Smile. Posture. Confidence.
I straightened my shoulders. "Since today. New guy trying to make a good impression."
Her lips twitched. Not a smile… but not a dismissal either.
