He came to the correct conclusion, but he wasn't happy about it, not even a little bit .
He did give me quite valuable information though, about the fact that demons can't make use of the leveling system, the power system widely used in this land, he also gave out the fact that all of the weird crimson atmosphere was their doing, they were also unable to come out and roam this land freely, i did witness the Bloodlord from before say and do something similar, but i didn't understand what he meant that time, but now What he said became quite clear to me .
The motives of all the races that were after the Shard are still unknown, but i don't believe that they wanted the Shard for the sole purpose of acquiring the said power system, but what exactly were they after, i don't know and neither did most of the demon race as well, i also wanted to know more about how exactly did they do those experiments of theirs, after all it might be a good reference for me who was trying to change power systems, i didn't want to throw my life away nor getting incinerated .
Another discovery that i made connecting the dots between what they did to the scenery and the fact that they were still sending reinforcement from the other side and in light of the information he just gave me, i was beginning to see what the Demons intended to do more clearly and it gave me quite the shock .
If my conclusion was correct, then the target of the Demons was probably to expand the area under their influence even more and conquer the entire region, intending to force the Shard to appear .
In their pursuit of this goal of their, they will be painting the whole land red, this was their backup like plan to use, if the other Demons that were sent failed to produce results, but i don't know whether this backup plan have already become in motion or was still being put off .
What made me believe that it was the backup plan and not the main was merely a speculation, i deprived from my knowledge of the plot that the king and the crown prince was making and their connection with the Demon King Blazan, who i believed to be a demon from one of the main families just like the guy in front of me and whose mission was that he together with his others accomplices or minion are to try and found out information about the whereabouts of the Shard .
At this point, i won't be surprised if the who was responsible for me appearing here, turned out to be a demon who was in disguise back on the battlefield, he might have been disguising himself as a human or a monster and as i passed by him, he give me a light touch and i was then swept away, that Sullen and his stupid brother are suspects .
At this last thought, i couldn't help but grin and release a soft chuckle in amusement, one that echoed through the current tensed atmosphere, then i felt relief wash all over me, thinking that at least i have grasped a clue about what was really happening behind the scenes, but even though i was relieved, the other guy with me was far from it, the moment that he heard the chuckle, he directly took action .
His Aura flared beyond measure and he took of suddenly and appeared far above me in the air, his movements was as if he was trying to make a distance between us, i can't tell whether he is shocked or more threatened with that movement of his .
Maybe a little bit of both, i guess, he asked but directly took off from the ground without waiting for my response, so i guess he didn't need my answer much, he was pretty much declaring it, not questioning it .
As i looked at him, he suddenly shuddered and rose even more higher as he probably should have remembered, how i took down that team leader of his, but he might not have been aware, but if i really wanted to take off after him, it wouldn't be much of hurdle to jump to him directly in one leap, i can also use Transmutation to make the whole earth beneath me eject me to him, but he was already quivering enough for me to have chosen not to do anything that might make him wary than he was currently is .
I didn't say anything in reply to him and merely nodded my head and looked at him, he who was so high in the air with a grin on my face and motioned for him to come down and talk, he didn't react to my demand at first, still haven't awoken from the shock, but after a minute or so, he began to slowly regain his composure and come down slowly, but he still stood a bit far away in distance from me, i guessed that was him telling me that we can talk but that he was still wary of me .
His eyes wasn't looking at me, they were contracting, his pupils were shaking, making him appear to be quite frightened more than shocked, his body was in no better condition too, his body kept twitching and shuddering each time i stared at him, i don't know what was exactly going through his mind currently, but one thing was certain, the shock he had from finding out that i was a human was so much that had him almost close to losing his sanity, he even forgot the fact that under the binding contract, i won't be able to hurt him, even if i wanted to .
I don't know whether was he too stunned to speak or waiting for me to take the initiative, but what do i even need to say at this point, i had already confirmed with the nod just now that i was a human, will i say sorry for having tricked him into thinking i was someone else, he can't be waiting for an apology, how ridiculous. no i believe that he was currently more or less revising all that had happened today in his mind, trying his hardest to understand what was exactly going on here .
I expected him to being shocked, but it never crossed my mind that he would be shocked by this much, i won't know what is he thinking unless he spoke what in his mind .
I took a step forward and that awoke him from his trance and in response he took a step backward, but his eyes at least become a bit focused thanks to the sudden stimulation, i saw his mouth moving as if in try to muster up words to say, but he was failing miserably, other than a few hums, no actual words came out of his mouth .
The scene become deathly quiet, as other than the stuttering voice of Ludo, there was no actual conversation going on, or any other thing for all that mattered .
Seeing that this was not going to lead to anything, i once again took another step forward, this time instead of talking a step back, he flinched but stayed in place, then he finally stopped his stuttering and the first clear and complete sentence that came out of his mouth was a question, saying :
What are you ? .
I looked at him with a raised eyebrow and wondered, whether he had finally lost his mind, as what was he even asking, shouldn't the actual question be who are you, i already acknowledged that i'm a human, the scene and his reaction didn't appear to be as funny as i had previously presumed, he looked at me with so much resentment before, but before i know him it was more or less justified, after all i did obliterated his comrades, only a few hours ago, but after knowing him, i knew that he couldn't care less about their life and death, his resentment was because of the damage that i caused him .
For some reason, i become a bit numb to feeling of killing and the life or death of others, was it because my mind and heart have gotten accustomed to this, or was it because i was in either kill or be killed in most of the situations, it may have also be because the enemies were demons this time, so i didn't feel anything for killing them, my mental fortitude could have gotten a lot stronger .
My Will attribute had been ridiculously rising lately, so was this nonchalant due to that, this leveling system have completely changed me too, so that to might be related, either way, what's gone is gone, the eyes of the guy in front me was looking quite lost .
But i guess he finished organizing his thoughts, since he without even waiting for me to answer, he directly appeared in front of me as if teleported, sizing me up before saying in a bit lamenting tone as if sulking :
Not only did i ended up failing to achieve my sole goal, but i was beaten and my Mana accumulation regressed, but i even signed a Binding Contract with a human and without even knowing he was a human, wasting one of my terms, can my luck get any worse than that ? .
Listening to what he was sulking about, i found it quite amusing, i directly found an answer to the inquiry he just made and said a bit begrudgingly :
You could have not made the binding contract but you might have died and might have lost your chance of getting two levels of the Mind Nourishing Method, so yeah, your luck could have been a lot worse .
He shock his head at my words and said loudly :
I wouldn't have been killed, if a life threatening danger were to come my way, my Seal Of Elders would be triggered instantly and a rescue signal will then be sent to the closest elder of my family, telling him of my approximate location, i myself will be protected by a Space Shielding Seal untill the elder come or me turning it off, even with your strength, it would take more than 10 attacks before it began to break, but that's in itself is my current problem, me not knowing what exactly are you, cough, cough .
Due to him saying all of that yelling, he coughed a bit as he squeezed the last words out of his mouth, i was able to finally understand what he meant by the question he asked me before, he was actually wondering about what was wrong with my not like the other human strength, since unlike him i was in no obligation to answer that, i didn't answer his question, after he finished coughing, he continued to say :
I have never seen a human from here or even back home as strong or cunning as you, even the legendary Human Warrior Rollo might not have been as strong as you, who exactly are you ? .
I chuckled a little at him calling me cunning, wondering whether to tell him that truth too or not, but seeing that he already become numb to these kinds of surprises, i decided to tell him, but i first answered his inquiry about my identity, saying :
Didn't you got most of my information when you used that technique of yours previously .
Huh !?, when did i do such a thing, weren't these information what you wanted me to see, Blood.... , no that can't be possible, what about that plan of yours, the one you had made all of us act like fools in ? .
He finally got a bit of realization of who i am, he believed that i manipulated my thoughts and information, so that i be able to trick him, after all the viability of this line of thought under the premise of me being a Bloodlord was indeed quite strong, but now that i was found out to be a human, it was a different story altogether, he still think that i have set all that up, heck i didn't even know even a fraction of information about this place, only the vague information that Reince gave the others and me before, i can't tell whether was that guy bright in the mind or just delusional to the extreme .
I cleared my throat and said :
I don't know why you believe me to have orchestrated all of this and for what, but even though i feel quite pleased with your high evaluation of me, i can't just take the credit for something that i haven't done, it is a difficult pill for me to swallow you see, but the truth is, that the magnificent plan you wanted to applaud to me for it previously, was the result of you overthinking it, in truth i had even understand what was going on until everything was finally finished and that guy attacked me .
Huh, huh, but, huh, but, but, he reacted as i anticipated, shocked to the core once more, but this time the situation he was shocked on, was completely of his own making, he is shocked because if my words were really the truth, then all that was currently happening was due to the consequences of his poor judgment, he realizing that was beginning to lower his head in surrendering, but as if he found a little bit of hope, he raised his head and said a bit arrogantly as if he found a loophole in my words or something, saying :
But you knew about the Real World, you knew about the Bloodlords and where they lived, surly you are jesting, you must be working as a subordinate of a Bloodlord or for some other race from the Real World .
I guess he still delusional to the end, but for some reason i got a bit angered at him labeling me as someone's subordinate, i was going to let him believe what he wanted, but i now wanted to fully convince him of the truth and see how will he look, so i said :
Your point is that i must be from the Real World or working under someone from there to be able to get my hands on these sorts of information, normally that would make a good point indeed, but to satisfy your curiosity, i will have you know that i acquired this piece of knowledge from an encounter with a real Bloodlord, one that i was fortunate to encounter at the Wicked Forest and i got this information thanks to him misjudging my identity just like you did, your end was better than his, at least you signed a Binding Contract with me, the other guy wasn't that lucky, i killed the clone of his and even got my hand on his magical artifact, he mentioned that its name was Veil Of Shadows, but i lost it when i landed here, my last and final point is why would i go through all the trouble of making such a great scheme, without gaining much from doing so .
As my words fell on his ears, i was able that the confidence he just painfully succeeded in assembling, completely collapsed and crumbled, he again lowered his head completely in defeat, accepting the harsh truth .
I didn't react much on the outside, but i was smiling internally on my success in persuading him .
The scene turned back to being deathly quiet, so i tried to break the ice and asked him to confirm whether he believed me or not, which he replied to by saying with bitterness in his tone :
As you said, it just doesn't make any sense to not believe you, especially when i think about what you could possibly gain from doing something like this, it was all on me and my stupid sense of judgment, but i have one question though, why would you even be willing to share this, doesn't it become more beneficial to you, if i stayed ignorant about this .
First, it doesn't really much for me to tell you about the truth of that matter, second i'm no demon and i can't accept a praise for a thing that i didn't do especially these sort of things, third and foremost we have already signed a Binding Contract, so their is no chance of you spreading words about me, if i said something like all of our conversation are secrets and shouldn't be leaked to anyone and you won't be able to spread the word to any other person out of the two of us here, so that's that i guess .
He stayed silent for a bit then said still bitter about the whole thing of making a fool of himself, he said :
You don't take damage, but i do, can we drop this subject already .
At least, his mind seemed still intact, i nodded at his plead and just as the deathly quiet scene was about to fall on us once more, the guy named Ludo suddenly asked me a weird question, saying :
So, who are you, i know you are a human but i'm actually asking for your name .
Seeing that no problem with answering, i introduced myself to him, saying :
My name is Sakurai Ryuu, i'm 16 years old .
He looked at me weirdly just as i finished my introduction, i thought knowing him he would be lamenting about the fact that he lost to a 16 year old kid, but i was wrong, his next question took me completely off guard, he said :
You wouldn't happen to be the here summoned from another world by the kingdom of Troland and whose wanted poster was currently being put on every corner in Devons , would you ? .
Seeing that no point in denying i nodded weakly and a bit awkwardly, wondering how did he know of ne, but as i heard the rest of words, i was more concerned about the fact that there was a wanted order in my name, what agitated me even more was the fact that he seem to have become a bit tensed seeing me nod in declaration of that i was indeed the hero summoned from another world, my intuition was telling me that the guy in front of me was hiding something from me, but thanks to the binding contract, i'm quite able to delve into what he was trying to hide, i looked at him and directly asked, saying :
What ? .
Nothing, i was just wondering, now i understand why your body seem to be different from the other humans here, he said this and tried to change the subject and even went and tried to widen the distance between us, but i caught his shoulder and fixed him in place, he panicked for some reason, but that action of his made it quite clear that i can't drop this subject, so without wasting any more time i directly said :
Tell me what you know and why me mentioning that i'm from another world, trouble you this much ? .
He kept shifting in my hand a bit before sighing and saying :
You might not know this, but you guys were summoned, so that we become able to come here to this land .
I felt my heart tightened a bit at that and asked him to hurry up and elaborate, his shaking increased at how forceful my tone of speech was, but still hurriedly nodded and continued to say in a grim tone :
You being summoned here was all part of a well devised plan made the moment we demons took our first steps in this land by the Emperor of the demon race .
Huh, what could that possiblity even mean, without waiting for him to continue, i unknowingly fell into thought, wondering what was exactly going on here, what is going on with me all of sudden, was this anger that I'm feeling, no, this wasn't anger, it was something have more burn to it than just anger .
IT WAS RAGE, YES, A BURNING RAGE, THAT I WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS CURRENTLY FEELING, PURE AND UNTAMED RAGE, SOMETHING THAT I HAVE TRULY COME TO TRY, BUT I NOW FEEL IT CLEARLY WITH IN ME, ENOUGH RAGE TO BURN THIS WORLD A FEW TIMES OVER, THOSE DEMONS WILL BE THE THE FIRST TO GET A TASTE OF .
