Chapter 33 - Chapter 33 – Shadows of the Past

---

BlueMoon Prison – The Darkest Depths

Chains clanked in the dimly lit dungeon, where the smell of blood and rust lingered in the air like a permanent shadow. A single torch flickered, casting trembling light upon a lone prisoner.

A Heaven Realm guard, once proud and unyielding, now lay bound in enchanted chains. His face was pale, his body frail, but a manic laugh escaped his cracked lips. He looked up at the towering figure before him.

"You think this cage can hold destiny?" he wheezed, the laugh echoing off the damp stone walls.

Dylan stood in silence, his eyes glowing faintly under the cold light. Without a word, he reached forward, choking the man by the neck with terrifying force. The guard's laughter stopped, replaced by gasps.

"You will rot in this place," Dylan growled. "There's no one coming to save you. No realm. No justice. Only silence."

With a final glare, Dylan released him. The guard collapsed, coughing, chained but still smiling.

"You can't find your mother and sister …"

Dylan didn't reply. He turned and walked out.

Ruther stood by the entrance, eyes narrowed. Without a word, he followed his king into the darkness above.

Xander's Chamber – Morning Whispers

Warm morning light streamed through the sheer curtains, falling softly on the golden sheets tangled around two sleeping forms.

Xander lay close to Fiona, the fire of their passionate night still glowing in the soft flush of their skin. Her chest rose and fell peacefully, her hair spilled like silk across the pillows.

Eyes slowly opening, Xander didn't move, choosing instead to savor the moment. He wrapped his arms around Fiona from behind, pulling her into him, skin against skin. Gently, he kissed her neck, breathing her name like a secret.

"Fiona…"

Though her eyes were closed, the corner of her lips curled. She was awake, pretending. Xander smirked, watching her expression from the mirror across the room.

"Caught you," he whispered, his fingers trailing down her side, sliding beneath the sheets. His hand gently caressed her hip, then slowly moved to her stomach, circling her soft bellybutton with playful precision.

Fiona gasped and caught his hand, smiling with her eyes still closed.

"I knew you'd try something…"

"I knew you were awake," he teased, turning her around with ease and capturing her lips in a slow, deep kiss. "I love you, Fiona."

Her smile bloomed. "I love you too."

She touched his face with her fingertips—tracing the lines of his jaw, his nose, his eyelids with tenderness.

"I want a baby boy," she whispered.

Xander laughed softly. "But I want a baby girl… with your eyes." He kissed her eyes.

"Your nose…" Another kiss.

She grinned. "You're impossible."

As he leaned in again, Fiona placed a finger on his lips. "No, enough. Duty calls, my King."

Xander groaned dramatically. "Yes, my queen…"

He sat up to leave, but Fiona surprised him with a kiss on the lips—short, sweet, powerful.

Xander smiled as he dressed. "I'll return soon… to continue our baby debate."

BlueMoon Kingdom – Dylan's Secret Room

Irin hummed softly as she cleaned Dylan's room, wiping the ancient books, adjusting the blades on the wall, dusting the velvet curtains.

The door creaked open.

Arms wrapped around her from behind—strong, familiar, possessive.

"Dylan!" she said, smiling. "Why so late last night?"

"Just… a small errand," he replied vaguely, kissing her shoulder.

Irin turned, eyes narrowed. "You're hiding something again."

Dylan froze.

Does she know about the Heaven guard in the prison?

He fumbled. "It's nothing serious—"

"I'm talking about your secret room," she said casually.

Dylan blinked, then laughed. "Wait… how did you find that?"

"I found it before you proposed to me, you dummy," she teased.

Dylan chuckled, eyes gleaming. "You tested me?"

"Of course," she said proudly.

He grinned and took her hand, guiding her toward the old bookshelf. Placing his palm on the faded portrait on the wall, a soft pulse of magic activated a hidden mechanism. The wall creaked and opened slowly to reveal the secret room beyond.

Inside, cobwebs and dust mingled with forgotten memories. Relics of war, old scrolls, and one faded photograph sat under protective glass.

Dylan gestured toward it.

"My family," he said quietly.

The photo was aged—blurry. A man and woman with two small children stood smiling under the blue moonlight, their faces mostly lost to time.

"The image is unclear," Irin said gently. "I can't see their faces well…"

"It's old," Dylan said, his voice heavy. "I have no other pictures."

He looked down. "My father… was killed by the Heaven Realm Ancestors. And my mother… my sister… vanished."

Irin's heart clenched. She stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him, holding him tight.

"You will find them, Dylan," she whispered. "I believe in you."

Dylan's composure broke as tears welled in his eyes. He buried his face in her neck, gripping her like she was his last anchor to the world.

"Irin… don't ever leave me."

She kissed his cheek, her own eyes glistening.

"I won't. Never."

The secret room was silent, but their embrace spoke volumes—of pain, of hope, and the promise of healing through love.
