Fauna cleared her throat loudly.
"Alright, you two."
She said, voice tight, edged with something dangerously close to possessiveness.
"That's enough. There's no need to start kissing the second we walk through the door."
Hearing this, Anya pulled back slowly, reluctantly, lips shiny and swollen.
But she didn't stop there, as she then turned to face her mother with a narrow-eyed glare which caught Fauna off guard.
"That's...weird." She said flatly. "That's the first time you've ever interrupted us."
"Usually when Mika and I get intimate, you just pull out your phone and start taking pictures, so that you can brag on the group chat to Auntie Yelena and the others about how Mika was confirmed to be your future son-in-law."
She tilted her head, studying Fauna like a puzzle she didn't like.
"But right now you're stopping us. That's extremely strange, Mom."
Fauna swallowed hard.
She realized that she was acting completely out of character.
