Xander had marked her. The words looped in my head, like a record stuck on repeat until I felt I would go mad. I shook my head back and forth in denial. In my head, Moon was screaming, just like I was.
"He marked her," I groaned, rolling weakly on the floor.
"Yes," Vera moaned softly as Xander, his hands clamped firmly on her hips steadily thrust into her, his eyes mad with lust.
The heat came again in a rush and I screamed and bucked, writhing in agony. I was struggling to breathe and shaking all over. The tremors rocked me and I gritted my teeth in pain, trying hard to survive the night.
My gaze met with Xerxes' but his face had an unreadable expression and I needed no one to tell me that he had chosen to protect Vera over defending me.
"I hate you all!" I lashed out, gripping my gown tight. More tears filled my vision and I groaned louder.
Please, I prayed silently to the moon goddess. Please let me pass out... I can't take it anymore.
