Evenings had begun to carry their own magic.

The light dimmed slowly, melting into honey-gold before surrendering to twilight. Within the quiet hush of their home, time seemed to pause—just enough to allow the day's chaos to settle into something tender.

Aria leaned back against the headboard, hair slightly mussed, wrapped in one of Leon's oversized sweaters. The babies had all finally drifted off to sleep, and the nursery camera sat beside the lamp on her nightstand, humming with its soft white light. On the screen, three tiny chests rose and fell in gentle rhythm.

She sipped warm tea from her favorite mug, its painted roses a little faded from years of use, and smiled as Leon entered the room.

He'd just finished a late call, his shirt untucked and sleeves rolled up, but there was a brightness in his eyes—one he never quite wore in boardrooms or conference halls. This one was for home. For her.

And tonight, it seemed especially warm.

"I think Lila's trying to trick me," Leon murmured, slipping in beside her and placing a warm hand over her knee.

"Oh?"

"She pretended to fall asleep on me, then opened one eye just as I started to get up." He gave her a look of exaggerated suspicion. "I swear she smirked."

Aria laughed softly, tucking her legs beneath her and leaning into him. "She's your daughter, all right."

"No," he said with a grin, dropping a kiss to her temple. "She's your daughter. All that dramatic flair? That's you."

"What about Amara then?"

He paused. "That one's definitely your brain in a tiny war general's body."

"And Elias?"

Leon smirked. "That's me. Calm. Calculated. Very unimpressed with how loud his sisters are."

Aria gave a gentle hum of agreement, resting her head on his shoulder. "It's strange… how normal this feels already."

Leon shifted slightly, reaching over to pull a blanket across both of them. "It's our new normal," he murmured. "And I wouldn't trade it for anything."

They sat in silence for a while, watching the soft flicker of the nursery cam. Occasionally, one of the babies would twitch, or a tiny arm would stretch in sleep. But mostly, it was peace. Pure, rare, and hard-earned.

Leon glanced down at her, his thumb stroking the curve of her wrist. "You did something amazing, you know. Carrying them. Bringing them here."

Aria blinked, surprised at the emotion in his voice.

He didn't speak often about the delivery. He hadn't needed to. She'd seen it in his eyes when he held them for the first time. But now, hearing it—his quiet reverence—it tugged something deep inside her.

"I was scared," she admitted. "Even after everything… I still wondered if I could be enough for them."

"You already are," he said firmly, turning to face her more fully. "And if there's ever a day when you doubt it, I'll remind you. Over and over again."

Aria closed her eyes, leaning into his chest as the warmth of his words settled into her bones.

Later, they walked into the nursery together.

The soft overhead stars projected gentle constellations onto the ceiling. Lila stirred slightly in her bassinet, fingers curled around the hem of her blanket. Amara, ever the little officer, lay perfectly straight with one hand resting over her belly. Elias had kicked off his socks.

Leon bent to retrieve them, chuckling under his breath. "This one already hates rules."

Aria adjusted the soft music playing in the background, then ran her fingers over the small bookshelf they'd started filling with storybooks. "I can't wait to read to them."

He joined her, slipping an arm around her waist. "We could start tomorrow night."

She smiled. "Deal."

They stayed a few more minutes, watching over their babies. Breathing them in. Loving them with a kind of quiet awe that never really left.

And when they returned to their own room—fingers laced, hearts full—they knew:

Evenings like this would stay with them forever.
