c68: Super Four and Super Blue Can They Exist Together?
When it came to the Great Ape transformation, Luya only knew the basics: that Saiyans needed their tails and exposure to Blutz Waves (often generated from the full moon) to transform into the massive, primal form known as the Ōzaru, or Great Ape.
The Ōzaru state was the most primitive and brutal evolution of Saiyan biology. Once transformed, the Saiyan's power multiplied tenfold instantly. However, this transformation typically came with a cost: the loss of rationality.
But Luya also knew that there was another function tied to the Great Ape transformation the path to Super Saiyan 4, a form seen in an alternate continuity (Dragon Ball GT), where Saiyans reached a new level of power by regaining control over their Great Ape state.
Luya understood the mechanics on a deeper level: the tail itself wasn't directly responsible for Super Saiyan 4. Rather, it functioned as a natural receptor for Blutz Waves. The tail enhanced the body's ability to absorb and process Blutz energy, which triggered the Great Ape form. Once a Saiyan achieved a Golden Ōzaru transformation essentially a Super Saiyan Great Ape they could ascend to Super Saiyan 4 if they retained or regained their consciousness in that state.
He recalled how in Dragon Ball GT, even Vegeta, who no longer had a tail, achieved the transformation. With Bulma's help, he used a Blutz Wave Amplification Device to flood his body with concentrated artificial Blutz energy. The moment his body received enough, he grew a tail momentarily and transformed into a Golden Ōzaru, eventually compressing that energy into the powerful Super Saiyan 4 state.
This clearly implied that the tail was not essential, it was merely a catalyst. With enough external Blutz Wave exposure or technology-enhanced radiation, even a tailless Saiyan could access the transformation pathway.
What the Elder Kai once said about needing the tail to unleash hidden Saiyan power made sense within the context of Z. But that understanding was limited. He didn't realize that Blutz energy itself whether natural or artificial was the true key.
However, Luya shook his head. "This is Dragon Ball Super, not GT. The path of Saiyans now follows the divine route God Ki, not Primal Ki. The original evolution of Saiyans through physical transformation has taken a backseat to divine transformation."
But a thought still stirred in Luya's mind.
> "System, this ape transformation does it follow the GT logic? Can I reach Super Saiyan 4 through it?"
The system responded bluntly:
System: "Host, what exactly do you imagine by 'ape transformation'?"
Luya's lip twitched. "You know... Golden Ōzaru to Super Saiyan 4. Will I be able to do that?"
System: "That path exists. But your current combat strength is too low. If you enter the Ōzaru state now without control, you will likely go berserk and die. Prioritize improving your base strength first."
Luya: "…"
He sighed. This system is a bit stingy.
But it raised a more intriguing thought.
Could Super Saiyan Blue and Super Saiyan 4 coexist?
The two transformations originated from different power systems God Ki and Primal Saiyan Power. One was serene and divine, the other raw and feral. Yet Luya speculated: If one could master both states could they be merged? A God-infused Primal Saiyan?
Was a Super Saiyan 4 Blue form theoretically possible?
Even Vegeta, in the Heroes promotional anime, had showcased something similar in an alternate dimension. But is that possible here in the Super mainline continuity?
Luya raised his eyes to the sky, as the battle continued.

Overhead, Goku and Beerus were still engaged in a ferocious clash. Golden-white and deep violet auras collided, creating shockwaves that rippled across the landscape.
BAM!
Beerus landed a direct punch to Goku's gut, folding him inward. Goku groaned in pain but managed to retaliate, his fist flying toward Beerus's "head."
Beerus tilted his head to avoid the strike but the Monaka headgear was simply too large.
RIP!
Goku's fist grazed the edge of the headpiece, knocking one of Monaka's oversized pink ears clean off!
"Not good!!" Vegeta's eyes widened.
"AAHH!! That was hand-sewn!!" Mr. Satan wailed in despair.
The disguise was breaking.
WHAM!
In an attempt to prevent Goku from seeing more, Beerus quickly delivered a savage roundhouse kick, launching Goku several hundred meters away.
The disguise barely held together.

This scene, even in its absurdity, was escalating into something profound—two of the most powerful beings in the universe fighting at full intent, even if one was holding back drastically and hiding under a mascot suit.
Luya narrowed his eyes.
Super Saiyan Blue and Super Saiyan 4 represent different philosophies of power. But if one body could master both… the result would transcend even Ultra Instinct's foundation of calm neutrality.
His heart beat faster at the thought.
Could I become the first in the Super continuity to fuse primal rage and divine serenity? Could I forge a hybrid transformation a new Saiyan peak?
A smirk curled on his lips. But for now, he watched.
The battle was far from over.
Beerus was a little uneasy. Damn it, my ear's been knocked off… What now? If this keeps up, my disguise as Monaka will be completely exposed!
But, as always, Goku's innocent, battle-obsessed mind completely overlooked the missing part of the costume. All he saw was the thrill of the fight and the strength of his opponent.
This battle was giving him everything he wanted!
"Let's go another round!!"
Goku grinned widely, and then his body flared with a powerful aura of ki, his Instant Transmission activating in a flash—zipping him directly in front of Beerus! With a sharp cry, he threw out a punch!
Beerus dodged expertly, leaning back and twisting away, but Goku's leg swept around the next instant, following up with a high-speed roundhouse!
Not good!
Beerus's golden eyes widened, and he twisted again but this time he wasn't quite fast enough.
Rip!
The edge of Goku's kick tore across Beerus' lower costume, and a long, purple feline tail flicked out!
"Oh no!!" Piccolo and Vegeta's eyes widened in horror.
In a flash, both warriors vanished from the sidelines, using their own rapid movement techniques to appear midair between the two fighters.
Goku was pressing forward again, but Beerus, flustered and off-balance, whipped around and nailed Goku with a high-speed kick, sending the Saiyan flying backward.
Of course, Goku wasn't the type to back down from a good fight. Even mid-spin, he corrected his posture and rushed in again with a yell.
In that split-second, Piccolo suddenly threw his cloak over Beerus, covering him completely, while Vegeta shoved a strip of white cloth into Beerus' hands.
"Wrap it quick!" Vegeta growled under his breath.
Beerus, annoyed and mortified, instinctively used the cloth to conceal his exposed tail, finishing just as Goku skidded to a halt.
"Huh? Vegeta? Piccolo? What're you doing?" Goku blinked, baffled.
"Er… ah, yeah! Monaka might… uh, have some strange technique that controls people!" Piccolo stammered, his eyes darting around awkwardly.
He flung his elongated arms outward to wrap Goku up, pretending to struggle.
"Ahh! Why are my arms doing this?! I can't control them!"
Vegeta stared at him. "...That was terrible acting."
Piccolo twitched. "Oh, shut up."
Vegeta cleared his throat, then added, equally unconvincingly, "Uh… y-yeah! Same here! My body's also moving on its own!"
This is getting ridiculous.
Beerus—now composed and with his tail wrapped snorted and, without saying a word, casually tossed both Vegeta and Piccolo aside, as if brushing off insects.
Turning back to Goku, he narrowed his gaze, then smirked darkly. The air around him suddenly surged.
BOOM!
A violent burst of deep violet energy erupted from him, his God of Destruction aura flaring for a split-second despite the limits of the Monaka costume.
"Whoa! Awesome!" Goku lit up. "Now that's more like it!"
"HA!!!"
With a battle cry, Goku surged forward again—but still didn't transform into Super Saiyan. Instead, he powered up his base form to the limit, pure battle instinct radiating from him.
Fwoosh!
In the blink of an eye, Goku vanished again using Instant Transmission, appearing right before Beerus.
But Beerus was ready.
"Got you."
He raised a hand and caught Goku's fist mid-air before it could land.
"Wha—?!"
Before Goku could even process it, Beerus buried his other fist into Goku's stomach, hard.
THUD!!
With a grunt of pain, Goku was blown backwards like a missile, his body skimming through the air!
He flipped mid-flight and managed to stabilize himself—skidding a few meters above the ground, his aura tearing a crater in the earth below from sheer kinetic force.
Hovering above, Beerus curled his finger, motioning mockingly: "Come at me."
"Can't let that slide!" Goku shouted, cracking his neck.
Exploding forward once more, his aura lighting up like wildfire, he rocketed back into combat!
BOOM!
Beerus rushed forward to meet him.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Explosions of raw force erupted with each clash, shockwaves billowing outward. The surrounding air distorted. Mountains trembled. The entire sky seemed to shake.
