Chapter 76 - Omega and Rat Princess Arc: Six

Petun held onto Aticus' hands. It was night fall and about three evenings out from the ambush that was planned to take place on the royal family. They kissed and embraced one another.

"Meet here, in the silence, meet here and I will be here to take you to the palace," Petun said. She wiped the tears away from her lover's s face and forbade her to think negative thoughts. To think anything could wrong would be blasphemous. "You, me, and Poop Poop will have a new life. A protected one. No spies, nothing like that."

She ran her thumb over Aticus' cheek who sniffed. Doing her best to hold it together. She stepped closer into Petun and placed her head on the royal's shoulder. It was where she would have remained if it weren't for the servant boy who came to beckoned his lady.

The young boy stood to the side, his clothes fit for the weather. His facial expression left him with twisted brows and an bit of a puffed up lip, showing just how sorry he was about the ordeal. Of course, it wasn't his fault were looking for power.

He walked forward and bowed to the two women. Petun took that has her sign to go. She placed one more kiss on the lips of the Omega and left with parted words that she would see the Omega soon.

The Princess ran back to the palace while holding the hand of the boy. The palace was in constant motion because of preparations being done for the war. Even if the humans had high confidence in winning, it was still good to be prepared.

Before she could make it to her chambers, a servant came to her with a package.

"For you, my lady." He bowed and quickly departed to deliver more parcels and presents to those in the family. She looked at the package and saw it was from Aticus. Petun wondered why the Omega didn't simply give her the package at the cabin, but ran to her chambers anyway to open it up.

She closed her door and plopped the box on the bed. She opened it to see a frisk of purple liquid and a note. The note mentioned the Omega's love for her, it mentioned to not drink the substance until it was silent in the day.

Petun kissed the letter and placed it back in the box. And when the day came for her to drink it, when the war broke out, and Petun sat in the bomb shelter helping the inside defense commander, she excused herself. Petun went out side into the cold, looked out hearing nothing but silence, for they won this quick and useless battle, she drunk the substance.

Not much time had been wasted before the effects started to take place. Her ears became big, her hands small and pink, her feet long and wide, a tail extruded, fur, her nose long with whiskers, and soon shr found herself in a bundle of her clothes in the snow.

Petun jumped out into the snow. This wasn't happening. She turned to see the frisk laying empty in the snow. She ran around, dumbfounded leaving footprints in the snow.

She ran to the frisk once more and saw her reflection, she was a...a rat. Not much time she was given to look at herself truly, for she was picked up by the tail by a human and placed into a box.

"Oooo," he said. "You're a fat little thang. They gone love you at the pet store in Fornik. Hmm hmm, gone make some good feeder for a snake." Then he marched off into the snow.

Aticus had awoke with a start the morning of the war. She was pulled out of bed by Lora who already had Potel in her arms. Her and the toddler were shoved down into the cellar where they were then shoved into the basement. She heard the sounds of her wife making sure the entries to both the celler and basement were hidden, nondectable.

She looked around and saw Lora had stocked the basement with food and water. She went to go and prepare a meal for Potel, sitting on the bench while she did so.

The basement was dark and damp. She could even hear the sounds of water dripping somewhere and the sound of rodents sprinting across toward the back. But most importantly, she listened for the sounds of war.

At first, she could only hear the Alphas and Omegas transforming into their wolf form. She heard the growls and howls, the scampering of the footsteps in the snow. Then about four hours later, she heard humans. She heard gunshots, artillery, explosions, commands. There was even an helicopter flickering above. She heard the sounds of death, of screams, of fear and...nothing.

The mother remained in the basement for what felt like hours until she thought it safe enough to walk up the stairs to the basement door then proceed to walk through the cellar to the latch that led her back in the house.

With Potel in her arms, she stepped out into a house that was all burn burnt. The latch to the cellar was what prevented the fire from coming into claim her and her son.

They were freezing so she hurried to the cabins. On her way there, she stepped over body parts of wolves and humans. She saw deaths of both Alphas and Omegas, children and even babies. She wished she could close her eyes but she needed them to get to the cabin. To get to Petun.

But when she got there later in the evening, it was just as quiet. The cabins laid untouched and there was no sight of the Princess. She had the nerve to call out for her lover.

"Petun!! WHERE ARE YOU? PETUN!!" She screamed on and on until her voice became hoarse, until she felt she needed to scratch the inside of her throat. Even still, she screamed. She screamed while tears ran down her cheeks. She screamed even when her Omega son placed his hand on his mother's cheek to ask why she was sad.

It wasn't until she saw the moon in the sky that she came to the conclusion Petun would not show. Aticus wouldn't dare go to the palace where they would kill her on the spot.

She wrapped her toddler into a blanket and transformed into a wolf where she carried him into her mouth. Aticus ran on all fours as fast as she could to get away, to get away. Where would she go in Conaska? Surely all the wolves would be dead after such an attack. She was sick of wolves and hadn't the desire to live amongst any new pack including Red Woods. There was a village that was the south of Conaska and northern tip of Nadia. It was right on the border of both countries that it was sovereign. It was a village of fairies. She would go there. What was the name of it? Faelock.

Lora awoke early in the dawn and gathered her wife and son. She guided them to the cellar where she opened the latched. Lora then guided them to the basement and showed them the food and water. She kissed them goodbye and left.

She ran to catch up with the Alpha who stood before the thousands of wolves all over Conaska who had come to serve. It was there time to thrive and they will over take the palace. The commanders of their platoons chanted strength and preseverance. The wolves all changed, the Alphas and Omegas whom were of age to serve, did.

The commander in chief would lead the wolves from the front while Lora would from the flank.

Hours had past with very little action. The wolves were in the mist of walking forward as instructed to cover and gain more ground until meeting with the commander in chief at the palace, but they saw movement in the front through the snow and fog. They squinted until it was shouted, it was the humans.

Big green tanks crushed trees and houses as it came toward them, shooting at them. The humans had armor, they had tanks, and they had silver bullets.

The wolves began to fall one by one, blood just flowing from where they laid. They had agility and they had strength but they lacked power.

"Aach!" Lora was shot on the field. Bullets zipping past her and onto the next wolf. She fell to her knees, feeling the bullet break apart within her body. The silver coursed through her veins, making her skin pimple and turn blue underneath the far. She felt herself losing her breath, unable to breathe.

A soldier, with his combat boots, walked to her. His helmet tilted to the side, a shot gun in his hands, two barrel. He held the shotgun to her head. She was already dying because of the poison but this soldier wanted to make sure.

BAM!

Not much of the wolf's head was left. Not with her brains splatters across the snow. And it was nothing to the soldier. He walked on to the next canine.

It was soon after that Aticus' spirit rose from her flesh. That she remembered why she was still on Earth. She thought maybe she could see her wife and son one more time but when she went to their house, it was burnt down. When she went to the cabin, no one was there even as the moon spread the light over the snow like a spotlight.

Aticus' spirt was pulled by force back to the house in its decrepit form. This was where her spirt was most connected to so this would be where her spirit stayed for all eternity.
