Chapter 74 - Omega and the Rat Princess Arc: Four

Too good to be true, one would word it for a spouse to easily over look their wife having an affair with a human. But Lora had her own secrets, her own darkness that she was simply able to keep hidden.

Wolves could be vindictive in such a way. Loyalty was everything to the speicies. For an Alpha or an Omega to break such a bond, to break up the moral standing of a pack, it usually meant they were casted out. The pack when discovering Aticus was having an affair with the princess, did not cast the Omega out. In fact, they all pretended and acted as if they knew absolutely nothing about it whatsoever. Still, the leaders of the pack including the Alpha took advantage of this affair. It was when they began to plan for this war especially since they were able to get eyes on the kingdom.

They had sent out spies and each time a spy saw the lovers together, it was reported back to the pack. And each time Lora had to deal with the emotional humiliation. Her pack did not mock her, they did not tease her because they thought this would all be worth it in the end.

Lora loved her Omega, she gave a child to her Omega and she wanted to give more children to her Omega. That dream was shattered. It was like Lora's entire life was one dream after another getting shattered. She wasn't destined for that a happy ending. Maybe if she hadn't come to terms with it some time ago, she would be having a mental break down.

Lora made sure her documents were in order. She was traveling to Vania, Nadia to see a witch. A poweful one, one so powerful it was said she even taught Hacate, herself, some spells. This witch was getting older though and of course she was, for her to have been old when Hacate had created the school that would mean the witch was in her thousands. Very few anythings lived for that long with the exception of patriarchal and matriarchal vampires. The only other witch Lora knew to have lived that long was the witch of Dimona who recently passed.

Lora was able to cross into Nadia was the border officers confirmed her paperwork. She took a ferry at The Valley of Trey that would go straight down to Vania.

It was cozy and quaint. Not too many passengers at first but as they continued down stream more people came on then off. Luckily, Lora had it in mind to purchase a private cabin for herself since it would take a few days to get to Vania.

Besides for her cell phone and a backpack of clothes, she didn't really bring anything with her. Although she did bring an envelope if cash for the witch. She only assumed the witch would want cash for such a request. The envelope of cash gave her some problems at the border but since it wasn't in don but lars, the currency of Conaska.

In her room, she spent most of the hours just looking out the window and checking her email, reading the emails from her Alpha.

In one instance when she was looking out the window, she saw a tugboat with some barrels on it. There were a man who seemed to be wrestling with a child with wild blonde hair. Her held her as she waved her arms and legs frantically.

A sweat dropped appeared next to her brow, a small smile forming. She really hoped Potel didn't grow up to be a brat.

Ring, ring!

She looked at her phone to see Doureena Apex calling her.

"Ayo!" Lora's Atin wasn't the best but not many spoke Den Den since Conaska lacked a sizable population compared to its neighbors. She spoke what she could of Atin.

"You were bold to reach out to me behind your Alpha's back," Dourenna started off. "Do you plan to fight in this war?"

"I wouldn't call it bold when it was you who pushed for my Alpha to start this war to begin with." She heard Doureena laugh on the other side.

"Do you enjoy doing that? Building up confidence of wolves, only to watch them be torn to shreds for incompetence." She hated this Alpha. An Alpha who manipulated and charismatically encourage behavior that any logical person could see through. But wolves weren't known for being the most logical species.

Doureena laughed some more. "Your Alpha tells me you're going to Vania."

"Yes."

"Hmm, when done, come to Red Woods. We can talk."

"Is that all?"

Doureena chuckled. "Relax, will you." Lora could tell she was smiling on the other side of the phone. Just enjoying all of this while Lora's people were in the mist of going into a war they would surely lose.

The phone cracked, Lora realized she was holding it too strong. She loosened her grip and lent back in her seat.

"Red Woods have plenty of Omegas whom you can mate with. Our Omegas are very loyal."

That was because anything else would mean death to that Omega. Red Woods was a beautiful wolf sanctuary on the outside but their darkness was so deep within that pack's blood, one would have to kill them all then start from the bottom.

"You have a spot for my Omega?"

"Tsk, your Omega is a wanderer and you want us to allow her in our pack if you die?" Lora remained quiet. Thats what she told her Omega. Flee to Red Woods. If Red Woods wasn't an option then where could she go? Nadia. Flee into Nadia?

The conversation ended soon after and Lora spent the rest of the hours lying in her bed and trying to get some sleep on the ferry.

She walked onto the dock and into the trail that led into Vania. It was day so when she got into the city, the only species who were out and mingleing were the witches and wizards. Not many though but when Lora arrived to the city, she was told by the ferry docker that all those going into Vania needed to be careful, that there was a basilisk roaming on the outskirts.

Lora went took the instructions that led her to the side of the city that turned into a make shift town of witches and wizards, children played and some adults were out and about. The witch she was looking for was said to live a bit higher up and to follow the sounds of ravens that gawed.

She walked up a stone brick path coming across purple flowers that fell downward. It was absolutely gorgeous. She stood there looking up completely in awe at the leaves. The ravens she saw in the trees but they remained quiet. If she were tall enough to reach, she would absolutely touch the-

"Wishteria..."

"Lovely, aren't they?"

Lora looked up to see a little woman with white hair, and small eyes. She was in fact old and a bit chubby. She carried a bloom as she wore a simple black gown.

"Yes, I thought they were from the east. I'd never expect to see any here."

"Your accent tells me your from Conaska." The old witch noticed. Lora nodded her head, but remained where she stood. It felt right to appoarch only if she had permission. "You like plants?" Lora nodded her head once more. "Yet you're the second in command for your pack. Hacate would have been a good school for you to learn herbology."

Lora casted her head down, getting an education like that and plus not having a sponsor nor the funds to afford such a school, it was left out of her hands.

"What do you seek from me?" The witch asked.

"My Omega has a lover that I want to be gone."

The witch nodded her head. "The Princess comes from a loving family." Lora's eyes got wide, realizing just how powerful this witch was. "Not many countries have equal rights for all species. Even here in Vania, the vampires are the highest. Yet in Conaska, wolves and humans have the same opportunities. Your pack seeks to destroy that." Lora remained quiet once more. "I can give you a potion that if the Princess drinks, she will turn into a fat little rat." The witch paused. "However, I don't want your money. I'm too old to travel to exchange the lars into don. You will die on the battle field and you will not cross over. Your spirit will remain on this Earth as a result of such a selfish request." The witch met her eyes at Lora to see if this was something Lora truly wanted to do. And it would seem so. The witch placed her hand out, outstretched it, and a purple bottle of potion appeared. The bottle floated to Lora and she took it within her hands. "No voodoo priestess will be able to cross you over, you will remain on this Earth for all time."

A selfish act for a lonely eternal.
