As the enemy Shinobi rapidly darted towards him and sent a flurry of Jutsus, Katsuro quickly initiated 'Lightning Style: Thunderclap Impulse' (which by now required only 2 handsigns), and managed to evade all the attacks by jumping up into the air.
They're nowhere near quick enough, Katsuro thought in mid-air, but just to be sure… and to set an example
"Wind Style: Wind Chakra Mode!"
Wind solidified around him, wrapping around his body in an armour of white and green, diverting and throttling aside Jutsu sent at him by the Root Shinobi.
Now, it's my turn.
Katsuro immediately went on the attack with his sword, stabbing, slashing, slicing at the Root, endlessly dodging and spinning away from their attacks.
Parry. Dodge. Slash.
The Root Shinobi, despite their overwhelming numbers, Jutsus and attacks, stood no chance before the man hailed as the Stombreaker, and soon their headquarters was painted red.
Katsuro didn't stop for a second, however. No matter how these people came to the unfortunate situation of being Root Shinobi, it didn't matter - they had been brainwashed, and wouldn't hesitate to kill him. They've been killing and capturing my clan members, Katsuro thought to himself angrily, as he slashed through the torso of one Shinobi, and then beheaded another.
I've waited far too long for my vengeance - for justice!
Danzo, you and your precious Root will pay, here and now!
"Combination Jutsu: Susanoo no Mikoto!"
The wind and lightning around Katsuro began to merge around him, and the surrounded Root Shinobi, despite all their training and emotional suppression, couldn't help but cease their attacks in a mixture of amazement and terror.
There stood the man hailed as Stormbreaker and Emperor of the Wind, and the proof was undeniably in front of them. The combined wind and lightning around the Senju Patriarch was akin to a storm, tinged with the same green in the man's murderous eyes.
"This man…" one of the Root Shinobi breathed, as he experienced fear for the first time ever in his life.
But Katsuro wasn't a man of bark and no bite. Instantly, he dashed forward, his speed exponentially increased. If the battle wasn't hopeless before, it certainly was now. Before the Patriarch, no man could stand, and fingers, hands, arms, legs and heads of the Root flew all around the battlefield. Katsuro didn't even have to use any other Jutsu - merely Susanoo no Mikoto and his sword were enough to deal with what seemed like the entire Root force. That being said, however, Susanoo no Mikoto was a Jutsu composed of 2 S ranks working in tandem, and Katsuro's efficiency with the Jutsu, and prowess at Kenjutsu, meant that he was truly a whirlwind of destruction and death. His speed alone was off the charts, even experienced Jonin struggled to see him clearly.
But suddenly, amidst the chaos and bloodshed, Katsuro sensed another presence - stronger.
Katsuro smiled coldly, and the Root clearly sensed the presence too, and ceased their attacks momentarily.
The chaos and dust finally settled, and it was apparent who had appeared.
"You've finally done it, you arrogant brat. It's over for you now."
Shimura Danzo had arrived at the battle.
"No, Danzo. It's your scheming, your murder, your life that's over now."
Scoffing, Danzo wasted no time to advance, instantly shouting, "Wind Style: Vacuum Sphere!"
Dumb*ss, Katsuro thought, as the Susanoo no Mikoto scattered the feeble attempt.
Looks like Wind is his Chakra Nature. In that case…
"Fire Style: Cry of the Vermillion Bird!"
A bird of fire ejected from Katsuro's mouth towards Danzo, and despite the leader of the Root's attempt to block using a Wind Style Jutsu, it was futile - the fire bird shattered the Jutsu, and struck Danzo squarely in the chest. Katsuro smirked. Doesn't this idiot know that Wind Style's weak to Fire Style?
The battle intensified. If there was one thing the Root was proficient at, it was teamwork - as expected of essentially brainwashed slaves. Under Danzo's orders, 4 members instantly moved to surround Katsuro as he was busy slicing through others who were ordered to give their lives to slow him down with whatever means they could.
Soon 4 purple walls started to erect around Katsuro as they used the purple 4 Violet Flames Formation to try to trap him. Seeing his plan work, Danzo felt more at ease, with this he could buy time so that the messenger he had sent to the Hokage would bring help. But suddenly, he saw Katsuro raise his sword to the sky, and soon wind started flowing towards it, gathering on his sword and extending upwards. It grew higher and higher creating a Katana of dense wind that was almost 10 metres tall. Danzo was undeniably an expert in Wind Style, and he knew how hard it was to control the unruly wind. The expertise in shape and nature transformation to be able to create such a large sword was unfathomable.
"Wind Style: Emperor's Blade."
Katsuro swung down with the massive sword, straight into the barrier which easily cracked and crumbled under the pressure. But the sword didn't stop, continuing towards them. They desperately evaded their impending doom, with most evading the blade itself. But the destruction that followed from the contact with the ground sent those near it flying, with blades of wind shooting out causing cuts over their bodies.
As the sword disappeared, it left a massive scar in the earth in its wake, and Katsuro, wreathed in lightning and wind like a storm god, stood leisurely, tilting his head as if surprised they would even stand up to him.
"I'm honestly surprised. Have you all not learnt your lesson? Look around you."
Katsuro drew himself up to his full height, spreading his arms as he looked around.
"You stand here, broken, bruised and bathed in the blood of your comrades. So tell me - what made you think you ever stood a chance against me?"
Before any of the Root could respond, the Senju Patriarch moved at impossible speeds, cutting down root shinobi like vegetables with just his sword. He didn't even need to use any other Jutsu, and any Jutsu they used was easily dodged.
Danzo called out for some of them to protect him as he performed a Summon, and a massive, part elephant part tapir like creature, which immediately attacked Katsuro by suctioning in the air around him. As Katsuro was being sucked in, he was thinking to himself - Typical of Danzo, sacrificing his people just to buy time for him. He's relying on that Shinobi who probably went for the Hokage. No matter - if the Hokage brings the clan leaders, like I'm expecting him to, this will work out in my favour regardless.
Anyway, about this weird summon - Danzo really is an idiot, isn't he?
Katsuro formed the handsigns for another of his original Jutsu "Fire Style: Fire Dragon's Breath!"
The A rank Jutsu that was unleashed a torrent of intensely hot flames from Katsuro's mouth and unlike other fire styles could be held to continuously spew fire for quite a while, proportionally to the chakra invested. Ultimately, it was an excellent choice - before it or Danzo could realise, the massive stream of fire was pulling right into the belly of the summon due to its suctioning with the rest bathing it in flames.
"Baku!" Danzo roared in warning, but it was too late. Baku was either dead, or very much out of commission.
Sh*t, Danzo thought, as a manically laughing Katsuro advanced on him rapidly. It was just a one on one battle now, the rest of the Root either dead or injured and unable to battle, Katsuro had consciously made a decision to take them all out of commission before focussing on Danzo.
Desperately Danzo tried to retreat desperately using his Wind Jutsu trying to avoid Katsuro. He spewed Justus like Wind Style: Great Sphere and Vacuum Wave, but Katsuro with his Wind Chakra mode was quite possibly the worst match up. Any Wind Jutsu that was below A rank completely failed to even affect him, the armour of wind acting as a natural defense to its own element.
Quickly Danzo realised that escaping Katsuro was becoming impossible, he changed tactics, and began to exhale wind to create a sharp sword made completely of wind with the Wind Style: Vacuum Blade.
Seeing Danzo commit to a confrontation, Katsuro felt something off. It was in Danzo's favour to drag this out even if running was hopeless but had decidedly turned around instead. Katsuro used his free hand, taking 2 Kunai from his pouch while allowing one to drop to the ground where he was and swiftly threw the other one imbued with lightning chakra nature giving it great speed and piercing power, it was even fuelled by the wind surrounding Katsuro making it even faster than normal.
Lightning style: Storm Kunai, Danzo just about reacting brought his sword of wind up in time blocking and cutting the Kunai before it could cause significant damage, but it still allowed Katsuro to be right upon him. With a flurry of attacks Danzo was left helpless suffering numerous stabs and slices as he tried to dodge, block and retreat.
From his wounds Danzo got slower and slower, and at one point when Katsuro was about to separate his head from his body he was making handsigns completing them in time to use another Wind style: Vacuum Wave. But rather than trying to damage Katsuro which had seemed pointless, he instead used it to propel himself back while jumping.
Then, to Katsuro's side a body of one of the injured root Ninjas moved, making a hand sign. As the Shinobi turned over Katsuro saw the numerous Explosive tags on his body before he saw a blinding light which was followed by a huge explosion.
Danzo smiled seeing the explosion, Heh, just a brat afterall. A direct hit, he's probably clinging for his life right now, some Wind Emperor. Tch- As a user of Wind style himself, Danzo hated that particular title of Katsuro, but that didn't stop him from feeling proud over his perceived victory.
