I sit there, staring at this ridiculously cute guy, with my jaws slacked.
"Wh- who are you? How do you know my name?" I narrow my eyes.
He sighs deeply, "Mind if I sit next to you?"
I hesitate, still checking him out. He seems pretty harmless, but still...
"Don't worry. We're in public, what could I possibly do you?" He sits down beside me anyway.
"I'm sure you haven't heard of the recent mentions of kidnappings?"
He shrugs, "Forgot those. Now to answer your question," he straightens himself, "brace yourself."
I straighten myself also, staring intently at him, waiting for what he has to say.
"Are you ready?" He tilts his head in my direction.
I nod, my heart skipping beats.
"I'm Ted. Your Fae guardian."
My jaw drops. My eyes almost pop out of their sockets observing him.
"You're kidding," my voice drops to a whisper.
"Would you rather I say I am?"
I pause, letting the question sink in my head.
"To be honest. I.. don't know."
