Godwyn and Thalia began searching the entire room, both knowing there was a hidden safe in the room. Half an hour later, both gods looked at each other and saw the helplessness in each other's eyes. They hadn't found the safe!
"It seems he's not that stupid," Godwyn said, after having searched Zeus's entire room; there was nothing, not even a small secret compartment. The whole place looked like an extremely luxurious room, but nothing secret.
Godwyn wanted to use the Divine Position of Order to see if there was anything that wasn't in "order," but quickly dismissed that suicidal idea. This was Olympus; using foreign divine energy was no different from standing before Zeus and shouting that he was a Norse god.
"Could it have been made by my half-brother?" Thalia said in a calm tone, her eyes scanning the entire room with a sharp gaze, trying to find anything that would draw attention, but there was nothing; it was just a normal room.
Godwyn's eyes lit up hearing Thalia's words. Hephaestus was the God of the Forge; he could very well build a secret safe for Zeus. "Often the things we are looking for are right under our noses," he said, looking down.
Thalia and Godwyn searched the walls, where it would be more logical to hide a secret safe, but didn't think of other places like the floor and ceiling.
"You search the ceiling and the floor," Thalia said, before starting to jump, touching the ceiling with her hands, always looking for any relief or even any flaw in the paint. Godwyn didn't stand still and also began to search.
Suddenly, Godwyn noticed a clear difference between the color of the marble. Although it looked the same color, his eyes actually found extremely fine lines in a specific part of the ceramic. The crack was so fine that it couldn't be seen with the naked eye; even to the eyes of the gods, such a small crack was really difficult to notice.
Waving to Thalia and pointing to the floor, Godwyn slid his finger over the line drawn on the floor. When he finished touching the line, a golden light appeared, and the marble moved aside, revealing a passage and a spiral staircase.
Thalia looked at the entrance and said with an amused tone, "We are on a mountain; if there's a safe, it will be built underneath. It seems we watched too many heist movies and unconsciously searched the walls and rooms of the bedroom."
Godwyn agreed; he wanted to slap himself for wasting so much time when it was more than obvious, but it wasn't his or Thalia's fault; they were seeing things through mortal eyes. After all, no human would build a safe in the bowels of a mountain.
Without further delay, Godwyn and Thalia entered the passage and began to descend the spiral steps. However, both gods were cautious; they had watched too many movies to know that safes, tombs, and pyramids were full of traps.
However, the further they descended, the more they discovered there was nothing. "Considering that Greek gods are hard to kill, traps wouldn't do much; at most, they could delay things a bit," Godwyn said in a calm tone, although he felt a pity that there were no traps, as he wanted to be like Indiana Jones.
Thalia rolled her eyes, noticing the slight sadness in his tone. She refused to show that she was also disappointed with the trap-free place.
Finally, reaching the last step, a large marble room appeared before Godwyn and Thalia. Both gods looked at each other and saw the shocked look in each other's eyes.
Taking a deep breath, Godwyn felt his heart beat faster. Ignoring the gold and precious jewels in the place, what caught the most attention were the extremely large metal blocks.
Celestial Bronze, Imperial Gold, Stygian Iron, Bone Steel, and Adamantine!
All divine metals were present in large quantities, even Stygian Iron, which was only found in the underworld.
There were also divine metals from other pantheons in small quantities, such as Fairy Gold from the Faerie Pantheon, Japanese Red Steel, Eternal Blue Gold from the Egyptian Pantheon, and Bone Steel found in the Norse Pantheon.
"We found the material for your weapon," Godwyn said, feeling his heart beating faster. He finally understood why stealing was the easiest way to get rich. This was probably just Zeus's personal collection. He could imagine the amount of treasure in Olympus's vault, all the wealth of Uranus and Cronus accumulated over millions of years.
"Don't let greed blind your mind," Godwyn told himself and finally calmed down. He took a deep breath and pulled the silver horn from his pocket. Pointing the horn's cavity forward, a gigantic suction began to pull everything in front of the silver horn.
Thalia was also happy; she would finally have a powerful weapon, something she had always envied Godwyn for, who had the Destined Death.
Suddenly, Thalia's gaze caught a golden chalice on top of a human statue, but it wasn't the statue or the chalice that caught her attention, but the flame burning above the chalice.
It was golden and burned with a beautiful golden glow. Looking at the flame, Thalia seemed to see the beginning of human civilization. From the creation of fire for cooking, to the flames of war that swept the world for hundreds of thousands of years, and finally, to nuclear bombs.
After sucking up all of Zeus's wealth, Godwyn looked at Thalia and noticed she was looking in a certain direction. Following her line of sight, Godwyn also found the Primordial Flame of Civilization.
Godwyn wasn't surprised to see the flame casually placed on any chalice. After Prometheus gave the flame to humanity, the fire of civilization was no longer good for much, besides always following the center of Western civilization; it couldn't even roast meat.
Godwyn approached and also had the Silver Horn suck up the statue, along with the chalice and the Primordial Flame.
"Now that we've completed our thefts, let's have some fun at the party," Godwyn said, with a smile on his lips. He couldn't be happier at that moment. He had stolen all the wealth of a King God; one could say that when his pantheon is created, his vaults will be full, and he will be able to strengthen his subordinate gods by creating weapons for them!
"You're really bold; after stealing from my father, you still want to attend his party," Thalia rolled her eyes and said with a helpless tone, but she didn't refuse Godwyn's request; she was also happy to provoke her father, even if it was in secret.
Godwyn and Thalia looked at each other and laughed; they thought alike, and provoking Zeus was something they both enjoyed. Especially Thalia, who always resented Zeus for not protecting her little brother, Jason.
Returning to Zeus's room, Godwyn closed the passage and left a playing card in the middle of Zeus's bed.
"He's going to be furious," Thalia said, observing Godwyn's actions; she smiled when she saw the symbol of the Golden Order on the back of the playing card.
"We have to bring some reputation to our self-help group against tyranny," Godwyn shrugged and said with a smile.
"Self-Help Group Against Tyranny." Thalia couldn't help but say with a touch of sarcasm. It was clearly a terrorist group, but Godwyn kept pretending they were a self-help group.
Godwyn also knew, but didn't care; he left Zeus's room and walked through the corridors of the God of Thunder's palace. Thalia followed him while looking at the murals with interest. It was a great way to learn the history of Greek mythology.
Both wrapped themselves in the Cloak of Darkness given by Nyx and walked calmly without fear of being caught. They had to admit, the theft was so easy because of the cloak, as even entering Olympus would be difficult.
Suddenly, Godwyn and Thalia's eyes narrowed, seeing a small figure wrapped in a red cloak and fiery red eyes. She looked like an eight-year-old girl, small, delicate, and fragile.
When both gods passed Hestia, the goddess of the hearth looked back confusedly but saw absolutely nothing, which confused her a bit. She was sure there was a relative of hers extremely close to her.
Godwyn and Thalia noticed this and quickly moved away; they didn't want the goddess to use her powers to check the area. They would definitely be found.
"This Divine Position is very powerful," Godwyn commented with a tone of admiration for the Goddess of the Hearth. "She practically personifies the concept of cohesion and family, making even the Pantheon more solid."
Thalia agreed; it was an essential Divine Position for every pantheon, but not every pantheon had one. Hestia was one of the few deities who possessed this type of divine position.
Seeing that Hestia didn't move and started walking again, both gods sighed with relief, but didn't see the deep look in the Goddess of the Hearth's eyes.
