Chapter 1 - Class S: The Hidden Flame

Year 2301.

Humans no longer control the Earth.

After the Great War of Intelligences, the last survivors now live in a world guarded by beings known as the Phoenix. These creatures are mysterious, powerful, and almost divine. They know everything. They can hear the voices inside human minds. And they are the ones who decide who gets to live… and who doesn't.

In this world, countries no longer fight each other. Instead, they've joined together in a global alliance, helping one another survive the growing threat of demonic creatures that crawl in from the shadows of broken dimensions.

Every young person, between the age of sixteen and eighteen, awakens a special gift—a power that becomes their weapon. With that, they're expected to protect their homeland and the people they care about.

Life still had its ups and downs, and people worked hard just to keep going.

Then the bell rang. IT Class.

Students quickly made their way to the tech room.

The IT classroom was packed with top-of-the-line computers—sleek, glowing machines that felt like they came from the future. The entire room was designed with computer psychology in mind—clean, perfect, and almost too quiet.

One by one, the high school students walked in and took their seats.

"Yo, look over there… three new chairs."

"What the heck? Three new students?"

"I saw extra chairs in every classroom this morning… Who do you think they are?"

Just then, the IT teacher walked in—Mr. Sayan. Tall, calm, and a little too cool for a teacher. As he entered, the students all stood out of respect.

Leaning casually on his desk, with a breeze from the open window brushing through his dark hair, Sayan spoke in his usual laid-back but serious tone.

"Alright. We've got three new students joining us today."

"Oh crap, I totally forgot about the transfer exam…" one student thought.

Mr. Sayan smirked.

"And no, Brian. I didn't forget the transfer exam," he said without even turning around.

Yeah—he could read minds. That was one of his talents.

At that moment, two boys and one girl walked into the room.

Raven, Ashen, and Alice.

All eyes turned. The three of them had a strange presence—like they didn't belong here, yet somehow fit in perfectly. Quietly, they each took a seat.

"Alright, you three. Come up here and introduce yourselves to the class," Sayan said.

He turned to the girl and smiled slightly.

"Ladies first."

Alice stepped forward confidently, eyes bright.

"Hey everyone! I'm Alice, I'm 17 years old… and these two are my brothers. My gift is called Living Archive!" she said, full of energy.

The room froze. Whispers spread like wildfire.

A Living Archive?

Alice was a slim girl with long, light brown hair that reached her waist and striking blue eyes. She had a sweet voice, a curious spirit, and was totally obsessed with energy drinks and old books about human history. She awakened her gift exactly on her 16th birthday—one of the few who did so on the dot.

Because of her high-class potential, every elite academy—especially the ones behind the Heavenly Gates—had tried to recruit her. But Alice… she was still waiting for something. Something important. And until that happened, she wouldn't move forward.

[Level: 1]

Alice can absorb memories and skills from anyone she touches—or even gets close to. She can copy their powers or techniques and use them in battle.

As time goes on, she grows stronger, because she's always collecting new knowledge.

She doesn't need to be the strongest. She just needs the right memory… at the right time.

"Daaamn, that's insane," said Roxy, one of the class's most popular girls, totally stunned.

Mr. Sayan chuckled and pointed to the taller boy.

"Alright, your turn, man."

Raven stepped forward. "I'm Raven. I'm also 17. And my gift is… Echo of the Void."

Raven had jet-black hair, dark eyes, and a quiet, intense vibe. Just like their mother. He was the kind of guy who always tried to be the best—not out loud, but deep inside. He hated losing.

[Talent: Echo of the Void]

[Class: B+]

[Level: 1]

Raven can bring back echoes—of sound, energy, or even memories—from a certain place or time.

In silence or darkness, he becomes a true hunter.

He can sense what his enemies are thinking before they even move.

Sometimes, he uses his own voice's echo to create sound-based weapons that can tear through an enemy's memory.

"Nice. Take a seat. And you—" Sayan looked at the last boy, "—you're up."

Ashen stood. His steps were calm, but heavy.

Ashen had light brown hair like Alice, deep blue eyes, and a strong build. His face looked cold, like he didn't care about anything—but anyone who looked deeper knew there was something different about him. He was quiet, smart, and sharp as a blade. Just like his uncle.

"I'm Ashen. I'm 17, and… um…"

"What's your gift?" Sayan asked.

Ashen looked down. "I… haven't awakened it yet."

The room exploded with noise.

"What? But they're triplets, right?"

"I heard people who don't awaken by sixteen never do!"

"What a waste… he's too good-looking to be powerless!"

Sayan walked up to Ashen and gently placed a hand on his shoulder, his voice a little more serious now.

"Well, Ashen. We're all hoping you awaken soon. You do know what happens to those who never awaken… right?"

Ashen nodded, his expression unreadable.

He returned to his seat, silent. But before he could sit—

SIRENS.

A blaring alarm echoed through the city.

Dimensional breach detected.

Target: Vel'Tharok × 3

[Level: 2]

These weren't just monsters. Vel'Tharok were creatures born from the decay of time and mankind's sins—not fully alive, not truly dead. They looked like twisted dragons, formed from forgotten memories, forbidden tech, and the shadows of human thoughts.

All awakened students, from the academy and nearby zones, rushed outside.

As a Class A, Alice didn't hesitate. She knew it was her duty.

She began mimicking Vel'Tharok's movements, copying their strange powers.

But before she could react, one of them moved faster than expected—grabbing her, holding her tight. She struggled, but couldn't break free. She hadn't been trained yet.

The other students hesitated. They weren't ready for this.

Raven had pulled back, shocked, frozen.

Ashen… just watched.

He didn't have a gift. He couldn't help.

But he couldn't just watch either.

He dropped to his knees—

And screamed.

The Vel'Tharok flinched. Alice dropped to the ground, free.

Then… something strange happened.

The Vel'Tharok writhed, screeched, and suddenly collapsed—blood, thick and glowing, oozing out like solid crystal. The blood didn't fall. It floated, then slowly began sinking into Ashen's body as he lay unconscious.
