Chapter 137 - CHAPTER 135– Sweet Like Pineapple

The next morning, DK and Minghao woke up early, beaming at each other like they shared a secret.

"Why do you look so happy?" Minghao teased, raising a brow.

DK chuckled. "Then why do you look so happy? Something happen last night?"

Minghao blushed, and both giggled like kids.

Their laughter woke up the dorm. Dino, Hoshi, Boo, Jeonghan, and Mingyu peeked out of their rooms, looking at them like they'd just witnessed Jack and Rose in real life.

The other members walked past, pretending they didn't know them.

Just then, Nian and Xuanye stepped out of the bathroom, fresh-faced and glowing. Woozi stared.

"Huh? Why are you two shining so much today?" he asked, giggling.

"We're going on a date," Xuanye replied with a wink.

Woozi froze and covered his mouth in embarrassment. The others turned toward the boys' room.

"That explains it," Wonwoo said, narrowing his eyes. "So that's why they're extra energetic this morning."

The girls laughed, slipping into the kitchen to prep breakfast.

By 8 a.m., the boys were dressed—DK in a loose white shirt with half-blue pants, and Minghao in a soft red shirt with jeans. They stood confidently in the hall, practically glowing.

"You two look good," Dino said, giving them a thumbs-up.

The girls stepped out and blushed when they saw their boyfriends all dressed up.

"We made breakfast," Nian said. "Freshen up and eat before it gets cold."

"Wait!" DK interrupted. "Jun, we're going out for our date, so we'll eat outside."

He spun around like a diva, took Nian's hand, and walked away. Minghao waved, grabbed Xuanye's hand, and followed.

The rest of the members stared after them.

"They really make me feel single," Vernon muttered.

The boys immediately pounced on him like a rice sack.

"Vernon," Mingyu said, hugging him, "we're here for each other. Let's stay single together."

Laughter erupted as they all huddled on the floor.

Outside, DK turned to Minghao. "You take your car. We'll drive separately."

Minghao nodded, and they split up. DK and Nian waved as they drove off, while Xuanye and Minghao got into his car.

As he drove, he asked, "Ye~ where do you want to go?"

"Let's stop by a shopping center first," she replied, watching the city pass through the window.

"What for?"

"Just drive," she said with a mysterious smile.

He looked confused but obeyed.

When they reached the store, Xuanye undid her seatbelt. "Wait here. I'll go buy the things."

"No," Minghao said, catching her hand. "I'm coming with you."

She blinked. "But—"

He smirked, pulling out a scarf from his pocket and tying it around his face like a cartoon thief.

"Hao!" she said, half-laughing, half-scolding. "Don't do that!"

He opened her door, bowed dramatically, and gestured for her to get out. She sighed and shook her head, already sensing chaos.

As they walked in, heads turned. Girls around the store whispered and blushed. Minghao held Xuanye's hand proudly.

She felt a flicker of jealousy. "Are you trying to make me jealous?"

He pinched her nose. "Maybe."

Flustered, she dragged him to the baking aisle.

"We're making cake today," she said while examining butter.

Minghao's eyes lit up. "Really?"

He ran off and returned with a bag. "Here! I found the flour!"

Xuanye laughed when she saw it. "Hao~ this is rice flour!"

"Can't we use that?"

She shook her head. "Let's just try it anyway."

They loaded up the cart with pineapple, sugar, lemon juice, and other ingredients, then headed to the counter. The shopkeeper stared in awe.

Xuanye quickly stepped in front of Minghao. "Please bill these fast," she said sweetly, shielding him. He chuckled behind her.

Outside, she exhaled.

"That was intense."

Minghao smiled. "Still… it's nice going out with you like this."

She held his hand. "Now let's go to your place."

He nodded and drove them to his house. Once there, they brought the groceries inside and moved to the kitchen.

Xuanye tied her apron while Minghao stared at her like she was art.

"Hao~ don't just look at me. Come help!"

He nodded and joined her.

They started with the dry ingredients. Minghao carefully opened the packets and handed them over while she mixed them in. Baking powder, soda, sugar, pineapple essence, eggs… it was a sweet mess of love.

"I'll stir the batter," he said, taking the whisk.

Xuanye chuckled—he was whisking like the batter might cry if stirred too hard.

She placed her hands on his and helped stir. He didn't look at the bowl at all—he was completely lost in her smile.

They poured the batter into the pan, then moved on to the filling—crushed pineapple, milk, butter, yellow color. The kitchen smelled like warmth and sweetness.

Finally, they began whipping the cream.

Minghao cranked the setting too high, and the cream splattered all over them.

"Hao!" Xuanye laughed, wiping her cheek.

Minghao grinned and smeared cream on her face in revenge.

"You're dead," she warned playfully, grabbing a handful and smearing it across his nose.

Their laughter echoed through the kitchen.

After cleaning up, they layered the cake and added cream. Xuanye carefully wrote, Ye loves Flutterhao on top.

Minghao hugged her from behind. "Flutterhao loves Ye," he whispered.

She giggled.

They brought the cake to the living room, sitting on the sofa side by side.

"It came out nice," he said, taking a picture.

Xuanye ruffled his hair, and together they cut the cake, feeding each other piece by piece.

Their first date wasn't a luxury outing.

It was a quiet afternoon, full of smiles, silly messes, shared glances—and love baked into every moment.
