Chapter 135 - CHAPTER 133: After the Spotlight, Before the Peace

As they finished eating, the girls stood up and turned to the boys.

"Guys, we'll go meet our head. You can head out—we'll see you downstairs," Nian said.

The boys nodded as the girls left the room.

Nian and Xuanye walked down the hall and knocked on their chief's door. From inside, his voice called out, "Come in."

They stepped in and bowed respectfully.

"Chief, we've completed the interview," Nian reported.

The chief removed his glasses and smiled. "Good job, girls. I've been watching your hard work for the past three days. I'm very happy to have you in our department."

The girls smiled, grateful.

"Starting tomorrow, you both will have two days off. Come back next week."

The girls' eyes lit up. They held each other's hands and bowed deeply.

Xuanye asked, "Chief, when should we air the interview?"

He leaned back. "Next weekend. That'll give us the best reach."

The girls nodded and exited the room.

Outside, Xuanye took a deep breath. "Nian, we've finally completed one of our biggest projects."

Nian jumped with joy. "And now we have time off! Let's rest—and maybe visit the boys' dorm!"

They laughed heartily and ran toward the elevator.

Meanwhile, the boys were sitting in the van, waiting for the girls. Freshly dressed and relaxed, they listened as Zheng stood by the door.

"Boys, you can head back to the dorm now. You're free for the next few days. I'll let you know when the next schedule comes up."

The boys cheered.

Zheng turned to leave when Woozi asked, "Zheng, where are you going?"

Zheng paused with a sheepish smile.

Joshua smirked. "Woozi, don't ask him. You already know."

Woozi chuckled. "Oh~ so that's why you look so happy."

Zheng blushed. "Yah, don't mock me!"

Jeonghan grinned. "Zheng, tell your wife we'll come meet your family soon."

Red-faced, Zheng waved them off and left as the boys laughed.

Outside, the girls stepped out of the building and spotted the van.

Nian called DK.

"Loudie, we're out. You guys go ahead—we'll come in our car."

DK grinned. "Okay! Let's go, guys! The girls will meet us at the dorm!"

The boys screamed joyfully in the van, and Nian held the phone to Xuanye's ear so she could hear the chaos.

Xuanye smiled. "These guys are happier than we are."

Nian chuckled, and the girls got into their car.

Once they reached the dorm, the boys stepped out and stretched their arms. The girls parked nearby and got out too.

Xuanye looked up at the familiar building. "It's been a long time since we came here."

The boys stood smiling at them under the glow of the setting sun.

Scoups opened the door, and everyone went inside together.

The boys collapsed onto the sofa, while the girls settled on the couch, taking in the quiet around them.

Xuanye turned to Nian. "Hey, it's so quiet here… even though we just arrived."

Nian looked around. "Yeah… Remember the first time we came? It was quiet too. And then when the boys surprised us, we spilled food all over this floor."

She laughed at the memory.

Xuanye joined in. "They were naughty even back then. But looking back… those are such beautiful memories, Nian."

They both turned to watch the boys, who were laughing and joking around together.

Nian smiled softly. "Xuanye… we used to think their families were lucky to have them as sons. And now, we're part of their lives too. Watching them like this, I know they'll make wonderful husbands one day."

Xuanye elbowed her and whispered, "Nian, we're lucky too. We're DK and Minghao's girlfriends now."

The girls giggled.

The boys looked over with bright smiles.

DK tilted his head. "What's so funny?"

Nian just smiled and shook her head.
