Chapter 254: What You Just Said… Is It True?
"Could it be that after everything that happened today… we're just going to let it go?"
The Fourth Prince of the Golden Crow Clan spoke hoarsely, his voice filled with unwillingness.
He was furious.
But there was nothing he could do to Li Xun.
Worse still, he even feared that Li Xun might turn on him next.
"If it really doesn't work out, we should report this to the clan. Perhaps the ancestors might have a way to deal with him. After all, with Li Xun's current strength, he's no longer someone we can afford to provoke."
The old Golden Crow let out a helpless sigh as he spoke.
"Alright—"
Before the Fourth Prince could finish his sentence, the void around them suddenly rippled and twisted.
From the distant horizon, eight powerful figures flew toward them in unison.
Their auras were so overwhelming that the very earth beneath began to tremble and sink.
Each of them was surrounded by radiant light, appearing like celestial gods descending from the heavens—divine and awe-inspiring, enough to make any onlooker's heart tremble.
"This is…?"
The members of the Golden Crow Clan all turned to look.
After carefully observing, one of the elders muttered in surprise, "They're from the Sea God Palace… and it looks like there are people from the Star-Moon Divine Sect as well!"
"These two factions… why would they be traveling together?"
The Sea God Palace belonged to the spirit race, though it was not under the Golden Crow Clan's jurisdiction.
They resided deep within the endless Eastern Seas, a force of tremendous heritage that had endured for countless ages.
No one could say for certain just how many experts the Sea God Palace truly had.
As for the Star-Moon Divine Sect, it was a human power.
But long ago, it had been branded by the human race as "demonic."
Still, regardless of reputation, the sect remained a human faction.
Although humans and spirits appeared to coexist peacefully on the surface, in truth, there was constant tension and rivalry between them.
It was exceedingly rare to see powerful figures from both races appearing together, and yet, that was exactly what was happening today.
Such a sight was truly strange.
"Ah, so it's our fellow Daoists from the Golden Crow Clan," A strong man from the Sea God Palace called out with a friendly smile, even though they were still some distance away.
He had a striking, heroic appearance.
Though he looked mostly human, his long hair was a deep ocean blue, and his aura surged like an endless tide.
When he and his group arrived before the Golden Crow cultivators, his gaze swept over the distant Yuyang City, then back to the assembled Golden Crows.
He asked in confusion, "I heard Yuyang City is hosting a grand auction soon. Why aren't you attending? Why linger outside the city instead?"
Although relations between humans and spirits were strained, they were at least civil on the surface.
There was no reason the Golden Crow Clan would be barred from entering Yuyang City.
Besides, in today's world, who would dare block the Golden Crow Clan's path?
Even if they weren't as mighty as their ancient forebears, the clan still possessed genuine imperial weapons—though they rarely used them.
"Li Xun is inside Yuyang City."
The old Golden Crow uttered the words in a deep voice.
At once, the atmosphere turned heavy.
The expressions of both the Sea God Palace experts and the Star-Moon Divine Sect members shifted subtly.
Among the three factions present, every one of them had suffered at Li Xun's hands—especially the Star-Moon Divine Sect, which had lost several of its Divine Palace realm powerhouses because of him.
That hatred… had long since reached the point of no return.
"It seems the Golden Crow Clan has also had some unpleasant dealings with Li Xun,"
A Star-Moon Divine Sect elder said gravely.
Judging by the looks on the Golden Crows' faces, it was clear that things were far worse than "some unpleasant dealings."
They must have suffered a significant loss at Li Xun's hands.
After all, behind the Golden Crow Clan's prince, one of the clan's members was already gravely wounded.
Unsurprisingly, that injury was most likely Li Xun's doing.
"That Li Xun is far too arrogant and overbearing!"
The Fourth Prince of the Golden Crow Clan glanced at the members of the Sea God Palace and the Star-Moon Divine Sect. A flicker of calculation flashed in his eyes before he deliberately spoke with righteous fury:
"At first, I only wanted to avenge the fallen members of my Golden Crow Clan. But Li Xun—just for a single piece of Dao Source Immortal Metal—deliberately stood in our way. If that were all, it might still be tolerable. Yet he even struck and gravely wounded one of our clan's elders!"
"With such a deep enmity between us, there can be no reconciliation. The Golden Crow Clan and Li Xun are sworn enemies!"
"Dao Source Immortal Metal?"
The moment those words left his mouth, the expressions of everyone from both the Sea God Palace and the Star-Moon Divine Sect changed instantly.
At first, they had assumed the conflict between the Golden Crow Clan and Li Xun was just a minor disagreement over some auction item. None of them had expected it to involve something as precious as Dao Source Immortal Metal.
Its value was beyond imagination.
Whether an Emperor would covet it was uncertain—but Saints and Saint Kings definitely would.
"What you just said—can it be true?"
The Sea God Palace's leading figure among them, Pan Zhong, spoke in a deep, solemn voice.
His blue hair glowed with divine light, and his entire presence grew immensely oppressive. It was as if a blazing sun had risen in the void behind him—vast, boundless, and unfathomable.
Beside him, several elders of the Star-Moon Divine Sect exchanged glances, their eyes also showing desire, though they remained silent.
They could tell perfectly well that the Golden Crow Clan was trying to use them as a blade—to have others deal with Li Xun on their behalf.
But to them, that didn't matter in the slightest.
After all, they already bore a blood feud with Li Xun. Adding a little more hatred changed nothing.
"Naturally, it's true," the Fourth Prince of the Golden Crow Clan said confidently.
"In that case…"
Pan Zhong exchanged a knowing look with one of the Star-Moon Divine Sect's elders. A faint smile appeared on both their faces.
"It seems we now share a common enemy."
"To deal with Li Xun," Pan Zhong continued, "unless several top experts join forces—or a Saint personally takes the field—it would be impossible. But if a Saint acts, the disturbance would be far too great. If we fail to kill Li Xun, the consequences would be disastrous for all involved."
"However, if a dozen or so Divine Palace realm cultivators were to strike together—supported by the proper formation arrays—then killing Li Xun might not be such an impossible task."
"A dozen Divine Palace experts?"
One of the Golden Crow Clan's elders frowned and looked around in confusion.
"Where are we supposed to find a dozen Divine Palace cultivators?"
Even counting everyone present, they barely had ten at best. Ten against Li Xun—no one could say for sure if it would be enough.
After all, a year ago, inside the Great Strength Divine Demon Sect's minor world, Li Xun had slain five Divine Palace cultivators in one go.
That battle still lingered vividly in everyone's memory.
Now that Li Xun's cultivation had stabilized, no one could be certain that even ten of them together could defeat him.
More likely than not, Li Xun would simply crush them one by one.
"Heh~"
Hearing the Golden Crow elder's doubt, the members of the Sea God Palace and the Star-Moon Divine Sect all let out quiet, knowing chuckles.
Pan Zhong spoke in a low, meaningful tone:
"Of course, if it's just us, it wouldn't be enough. But…"
"What if we add the Xiao Clan—and the Spirit Clan?"
