Chapter 93 - : The Twin Flame Theory

Chapter 94

The temple archives had long been abandoned.

Dust choked the shelves. Scrolls faded into silence. But Eliendara knew what she was looking for.

Buried beneath layers of forbidden parchment, beneath prophecies deemed too unstable to teach—

She found it.

The Twin Flame Theory.

"When a soul destined for fire is split too early, the world selects one half to burn bright—and discards the other into darkness."

The page trembled in her hands.

And beneath the old ink, in a scholar's forgotten scrawl:

The discarded half will not forget. It will remember in flame.

Kael rode eastward, faster than wind, his thoughts burning louder than his power.

He didn't remember a twin.Didn't remember a lost child.

But the fire chasing him through dreams didn't lie.

It knew him.

And that kind of knowing only came from within.

Behind him, the fig tree cracked.

Its roots pulled deeper into the earth, as if recoiling from something it couldn't protect him from.

The child of hope sat silently now, no longer glowing—just watching the horizon.

"He's getting closer," the child whispered.

Eliendara turned sharply.

"Kael?"

The child shook their head.

"The cold one."

In the ashlands, the forgotten flame stood atop a ridge.

Beneath them: a village Kael once saved.

It would be the first test.

Not of destruction—

But of memory.

They stepped into the town square, barefoot, quiet.

People turned. Some recognized Kael in the stranger's eyes.

But their warmth was met with silence.

The child raised a single hand.

Flame blossomed.

Buildings didn't burn.

They froze mid-combustion.

Ash turned to stone.

Time fractured at the edges of fire.

"This is what you could've been," the child whispered,"if the world had chosen me."

Kael was still a day away.

But the echoes of that frozen flame already screamed in his bones.

And in the cradle beneath the fig tree…

Hope closed their eyes.

And began to dream of two stars—

one burning blue, the other… turning black.
