Jacob's surprised gaze darted between the two of them.
Matthew stepped back and sank onto the couch. He reached out, took the laptop from Jacob, and started checking files.
Jacob walked over to the girl and asked softly,
_ "Want me to get you anything?"
Diana shook her head.
Jacob poured a glass of water from the nightstand and handed it to her.
Five minutes passed in silence, broken only by the occasional click of the laptop's keyboard.
+"Alright, it's all set. I'll pass it to Marie."
Jacob nodded and took the laptop back.
Now both of them were staring at Diana.
+"Start talking."
She looked at them with wide eyes.
-Start what?"
+"Who was that guy? What were you doing there? What's your name? I don't have the time or patience for games. So be a good girl and explain everything. No lies."
She let out a bitter smirk, as if forgetting where she was and who these guys were.
-Aren't you some big shot who can dig up everything about me yourself? All you bastards are good at that, right?"
