Everything was so messed up that if it were up to me, I'd forget how to breathe.
I met his eyes.
What color were they? Black or gray?
They had a strange spark. What was he thinking to make them shine like that?
It was like he knew every move I'd make.
-"You're not gonna let me go, are you? I have no choice but to stay here. I wanna see how long it takes for you to get tired of me. I bet it won't even be a month."
I didn't mean to put myself in this position so easily.
+"Oh, little one… isn't it a shame for that sharp tongue of yours to end up in the dirt so soon? I wanna see how long you keep talking like a songbird!"
+"You're staying here. Until I'm done with you."
He paused.
+"Until you bore me."
Narrator pov:
Jacob glanced at Matthew. He couldn't guess what was going on in his head.
Not surprising.
They'd been together since they were kids, but the times Jacob could figure out Matthew's thoughts could be counted on one hand.
He walked toward Diana.
He could feel her fear. He didn't know why, but he didn't get a bad vibe from the girl in front of him.
He asked again.
_ "Want me to get you something to eat? You look weak. Your face is pale."
She shook her head again.
She hadn't even looked at him once.
He turned to Matthew.
_ "We're done here. I'll wait outside."
He closed the door softly.
+"Get up and take a shower. I don't like people walking around my house like that."
He nodded toward the door.
+"Second door on the left in the hallway is the bathroom. This isn't the master room, so you'll use the one outside."
-"Is anyone in…"
+"Tonight, the bodyguards aren't in the mansion, so don't worry your little head about it."
-"Can't I… maybe go later? I'm really…"
+"I know enough girls to keep me busy all night. You don't have anything special to make me want you in my bed. I'm sure you'll come to my room on your own and beg for it, kid. I don't like forcing anyone, so spare me the nonsense.
