Chapter 56 - TC POINTS

By the time the sun had climbed higher, the house, no trunk had woken.

The Grangers gathered at the breakfast table, freshly dressed and seated in quiet order. The faint clinking of cutlery and soft morning light filled the room.

Harry sat at one end, still sleepy-eyed but alert, picking at his toast.

Hermione joined him, neat but tired, her gaze occasionally flicking toward her parents.

John Granger looked relaxed, sipping his tea and reading the Daily Prophet, occasionally muttering about how ridiculous wizard politics sounded.

Emma Granger arrived a moment later. She moved a little stiffly, her usual grace slightly off. She didn't meet anyone's eyes, especially not her daughter's. Her cheeks were faintly pink, though she tried to act casual as she poured herself tea.

Then came Nova, walking in with his usual calm. He wore a simple robe, loosely tied, his hair slightly damp. He sat next to Emma without hesitation.

"Morning," he said smoothly.

John smiled. "Morning. You were up early."

Nova nodded. "Had to restore some stamina."

Emma coughed into her cup. Hermione blinked. Harry looked up, curious.

A quiet tension settled over the table—brief, unspoken.

No one said anything more. But Hermione's eyes lingered just a little longer on Nova… and then on her mother.

----

After breakfast, everyone gathered once again in the living room. The atmosphere had settled—quiet, steady, with a hint of anticipation in the air.

John Granger cleared his throat and spoke, "We discussed the contract last night. We've decided—we agree to sign it."

Nova nodded with a small smile. With a casual flick of his fingers, he summoned the prepared contract from his system inventory. The parchment appeared out of thin air in a shimmer of golden light, drawing surprised looks from everyone except Nova himself.

Even Harry blinked. Hermione's brows furrowed, clearly trying to figure out the spell—or mechanism—behind that smooth trick.

Nova handed each of them a copy.

Harry and Hermione sat down with the documents, eyes scanning line by line. Their expressions turned serious as they read, the room quiet except for the rustling of paper and the occasional shift in their seats.

Nova leaned back slightly, watching them read.

After several minutes of silent reading, Hermione looked up first. Her eyes met Nova's.

"It's… detailed," she said carefully, "but fair. There's nothing hidden or vague."

Harry nodded beside her. "Yeah. You even included clause 14-B to prevent magical coercion or forced consent. That's rare."

Nova gave a small shrug. "I don't need tricks. I want allies who choose to stand with me."

With a glance at one another, Harry and Hermione both dipped their quills—Hermione's signature was neat and precise, while Harry's was bold and swift.

As their names sealed onto the parchment, the contract glowed briefly with silvery-blue light. Magic surged for a moment, then faded—binding the terms in full effect.

The contract vanished with a soft pulse of golden light, returning to Nova's inventory.

Nova smiled and said, "Well then, since you both will be my students from now on, here's a gift for you both."

He reached into his system inventory again and pulled out two sleek, metallic rings. Harry and Hermione blinked, still not entirely used to how effortlessly he conjured things from thin air—but their confusion was quickly replaced by excitement as they caught sight of the rings.

"Ooh, are those enchanted?" Hermione asked, her eyes lighting up with eager curiosity. "What kind of spellwork is embedded in them?"

Harry leaned in, eyebrows raised. "They look like something out of a sci-fi movie. Are those runes or circuits?"

Nova chuckled. "These rings are a fusion of magic and technology—crafted by yours truly."

He handed the rings to the teens. They eagerly slid them onto their fingers—only to jolt and yelp in unison.

"Bloody hell!" Harry hissed, shaking his hand. "That stung!"

"Ow—what was that?" Hermione gasped, rubbing her finger with a wide-eyed glare in Nova's direction.

Nova put on a fake apologetic face. "Ah, right… minor detail. I may have forgotten to mention the bonding process. It stings a bit as it connects to your blood and magic."

Hermione shot him a sharp look. "A bit? You could've warned us!"

Nova ignored the glares with the ease of someone completely immune to guilt and continued, voice light.

"As I said, these rings are more than fancy jewelry. First, let's go over the safety features."

He held up a matching ring on his own hand. "Each ring contains a personal shield module. It can block physical attacks and most common magical spells. But don't get overconfident—it has limits."

Harry tilted his hand, rotating the ring and inspecting it. "That's wicked… you sure we're not going to explode wearing this?"

"Extremely sure," Nova said dryly.

"Second," he continued, "the ring monitors your health in real time. If your vitals drop too low, it'll trigger a portkey to a preset safe location."

Hermione's confusion gave way to fascination. "That's… actually brilliant. It's like a wearable failsafe."

"There's more," Nova said, eyes glinting. "Toxin detector, it's your emergency toolkit and communication system, similar to telephones, you can contant others using the ring."

Harry's eyes widened. "Wait—so we can talk to each other through these too? Like… instant messaging?"

Nova nodded. "Voice call or chat, depending on your preference."

Hermione looked downright stunned. "You just casually built a magical health monitor, shield system, and long-range communication device into a ring?"

Nova gave a modest shrug. "But that's not the major function of this ring."

He paused to build the tension, watching the two teens lean forward with interest.

"This ring also acts as an interface to a system I've designed," he continued. "It connects your magic to a digital library, I created."

Harry blinked. "A digital library? Like… full of magical books?"

Hermione froze. Her mouth parted slightly, eyes locked on Nova. "Wait… what kind of library are we talking about?"

Nova gave a faint smile. "Every spell, enchantment, and theory I've come across—magical or otherwise. It also includes my own modifications of spells and potions. Inside, you'll find specialized fields like Artifact Creation and Magi-Tech. Not only that, it even contains science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths and more. Let's just say… it's a vast database of knowledge—both magical and scientific."

Hermione blinked slowly, staring at the ring again. "That's… a lot."

Harry gave a half-laugh. "You're telling me this thing has school subjects too? Like actual muggle science stuff?"

Nova nodded. "Yeah. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths… even engineering basics. You'll find a bit of everything in there. But—"

Hermione looked up sharply. "But what?"

Nova smiled. "Most of it is locked for now. You'll need either permission or progress to access those areas. Currently, you can only view the Hogwarts curriculum from Year One to Year Seven, for all core subjects."

Hermione groaned," Seriously locked? How can we unlock those books/topics?"

Nova chuckled at her reaction. "You'll need to pass a test."

Harry groaned. "Seriously? A test?"

Hermione leaned forward. "What kind of test are we talking about?"

Nova shrugged. "The standard will be similar to the O.W.L. level. Not exactly the same, but close enough to measure your readiness."

Harry slumped a little. "We haven't even started fourth year yet…"

Hermione's brows furrowed, lips pressing into a tight line as she stared down at the ring.

"A test makes sense," she said slowly, thinking aloud. "You don't want just anyone accessing advanced material they can't understand... but still..."

She looked up at Nova, clearly torn. "You could've at least given us a study guide."

Nova smirked. "That would defeat the purpose. The system is the guide."

Hermione huffed softly, somewhere between annoyed and impressed. "Of course it is."

Then, a spark lit in her eyes. "But if this really includes Year Seven material... I could technically start preparing for my O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s now. I could be years ahead of schedule."

Harry groaned beside her. "Only you would get excited about harder homework."

Hermione didn't even look at him. She was already planning, already calculating.

She turned back to Nova. "So, once we pass… it unlocks more advanced subjects? Like university-level magic? Cross-discipline theory?"

Nova nodded, amused at how quickly she'd shifted into academic overdrive. "There are other ways to unlock those topics before taking the tests."

Hermione's eyes sharpened with interest. "Other ways? Like what?"

Nova leaned back slightly. "By using TC points."

Harry questioned, "TC points?"

[PS: TC→ TRADE & CONTRACT. BASED ON MC'S SYSTEM]

Harry titled his head slightly," TC points?"

Nova answered, "TC points are a type of currency, like galleons in the magical world and pounds or dollars in the Muggle one. These TC points are a special currency for a special shop, but it's too early for you to know about that shop. Anyway, this library is not mine; I just contributed knowledge to it and gained many benefits. So, my advice is to earn TC points."
