Taking deep breaths, I held a block of deepslate in my left hand, with my diamond pickaxe held on the other.
Just now, I dug the block in front of me—what awaited were two creepers. Thankfully, I was already baptized by them in this world. Because here, creepers can cause chain explosions. Either way, now that I've dug to this creeper infested area, I knew I dug a little too far.
Going back a few steps while also filling in the tunnel I dug, I once more tried mining upward. One block… two… three—
A zombie fell in, followed by a baby zombie. After quickly blocking the hole in the ceiling, I equipped my shield and diamond sword, blocking the baby zombie that ran at me. With a quick slash, the mini undead was beheaded—but it wasn't dead yet. It just ran to a wall.
As for the regular zombie… well, with a few more slashes, both zombies became xp points.
With that, I went back a few paces, before filling up the space that I came from. At this point, I didn't even know where I had started. After starting to dig, I've been constantly blocking the path behind me with deepslate.
Looking at my inventory… I smiled. I have two sets of diamond equipment. One was enchanted—the other wasn't. The reason was simple:
[xp level: 8]
I didn't want to run dry of xp, so I stopped after doing some basic enchantments. After all, in the shinobi world, xp is a lifesaver.
A while later, I gathered enough courage to mine the block above my head. Luckily, there wasn't a mob nearby. Then, towering up, I raised my shield, looking quietly behind me.
There, the unlit portal seemed to seduce me.
Not just that, I heard bone clicking nearby—there was no time to waste. I switched to by bow, notched an arrow, pulled back the string, and—

Kinko Takahashi gazed beyond the windows of his estate. As the daimyo of a small land owned by his clan for centuries, he had many things to worry about.
Money. Manpower. Alliances. Conflicts. War… but today, he couldn't help but feel as though his age was catching up.
Granted, he was barely in his 30s, in this world, he was old enough to be a grandfather. However, what does one do when they meet… something unnatural?
Days earlier, disaster struck. It started all too suddenly. He was patrolling his territory, checking up on the farmers and his samurai, when all of a sudden, space itself began to shift.
A portal suddenly manifested, and threw out a man. A very tall man—two meters tall. His seven samurai guards tried to subdue him, but all it took to kill each of them were two strikes.
Never in his life had he seen a proud samurai to be bisected with two mere strikes—not to mention, the man also looked like a samurai. If he looked like a ninja, he would've understood it easier. But the problem was, the man was no ninja either.
That day, he soiled himself. Stripped of his dignity and courage, he had closed his eyes, awaiting death, only for the man to help him stand. The man told him that he needed help.
"Ha…" Kinko sighed. "Even though he's already so powerful, he still seeks these arts?" He muttered, looking at the scrolls in his hand.
They were ninjutsu scrolls, five of them—one for each basic chakra nature.
Shaking his head, he could only pray that the man's next enemy wouldn't despair too much.
Entering a private room—once his personal office, he saw the man sitting on his couch. He was staring into blank space, until he entered, that is.
"Here are the things you wanted," Kinko said, handing out the scrolls. His lips trembled as the man grabbed them. The man told him that he'd leave after gaining the scrolls, and he was counting on it.
Thankfully, the man seemed satisfied. As he opened one scroll, a sinister smile appeared on the man's face.
