Chapter 249: Forceful Suppression! Capture of the Eight-Tails!
Keisuke was not yet aware that Killer B had decided to retreat. But since A was already dead, and only B remained, he saw no reason not to press his advantage and see if he could suppress the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki as well.
Though he had just fired one Dark Spiral Annihilation Sphere, he quickly recovered and, after a brief moment of gathering his chakra, a new one formed in his palm. Across the field, B and Gyūki both sensed the renewed threat.
"Eight-Tails! Be careful!" B warned. When a Perfect Jinchuriki entered their full Tailed Beast form, it was the Tailed Beast's chakra that was being consumed, not their own. In other words, the one who had tanked the last attack was Gyūki, not him.
"I know!" Gyūki replied shortly. "The Shadow of Darkness! Hmph!" It furiously gathered its chakra and, as if vomiting, spat out a small but rapidly formed Tailed Beast Bomb. It had sacrificed power for speed.
Dark Spiral Annihilation Sphere!
Keisuke's attack shot across the sky like a meteor. Gyūki fired its own in response. The two black spheres of chakra, one large and one small, collided in mid-air. The resulting explosion was deafening, and a rolling shockwave blasted outwards. The larger Gyūki took the brunt of the blast, but it was far more manageable than a direct hit. Keisuke, on the other hand, was forced to raise his Rashōmon shield to protect himself.
Seeing this, B's eyes lit up. "Eight-O! Now!"
Gyūki, seeing its chance, ignored the shockwave and gathered its chakra again, this time forming a much larger Tailed Beast Bomb.
"Continuous Tailed Beast Balls!"
A volley of black spheres shot out, one after another, slamming into the demonic face of the Rashōmon shield, intending to obliterate it and the Shadow of Darkness behind it.
Keisuke, sensing the massive chakra spike, chose to dodge.
Flying Thunder God Technique!
His figure vanished from behind the shield, but he did not immediately dispel the Rashōmon, leaving it behind as a decoy.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The Tailed Beast Bombs struck, and the un-powered shield was instantly blown to pieces. When the light and dust settled, the black demonic face was gone.
"Is he finished?" Gyūki stared at the point of impact, hoping to see a corpse. "No one can survive a direct hit from my Tailed Beast Bombs..." But to their disappointment, there was no trace of the Shadow of Darkness.
"It doesn't matter if he's dead or ran away," B said, about to tell Gyūki to revert.
"No! B!" Gyūki's urgent warning cut him off. "In the sky! He's in the sky! I can sense his chakra!"
B looked up and saw the Shadow of Darkness, holding a massive, grotesque sword, standing on the back of a creature that was almost invisible against the night sky. The sword was Samehada.
When he had first thrown it, Keisuke had placed a Flying Thunder God marker on its hilt. He had intended to use it as a secondary teleport point, but B's transformation had happened too fast, and the sword had been sent flying by the "Tailed Beast Eight Twists" tornado. Now, that had become his salvation.
"Screee!" Samehada, having gotten a taste of the Eight-Tails' chakra, was eager for more. It began to flare its spikes, trying to force its new wielder to let go. Keisuke, having no time for the disobedient blade's antics, simply sealed it away.
He then looked down at the Eight-Tails and began to gather his chakra once more.
"This is not good, B!" Gyūki said. "He's in the sky! I can't reach him!" Of the nine Tailed Beasts, only the Seven-Tails could truly fly. Against an aerial opponent, the Eight-Tails was helpless. And from that height, Keisuke could easily dodge its Tailed Beast Bombs.
Before they could formulate a new plan, Keisuke released a small amount of chakra from his Yin Seal and fired a simple, black chakra sphere.
Spiraling Shadow Killing Cannon!
It was a feint. Gyūki countered with a Tailed Beast Bomb, and the two attacks cancelled each other out. But that was just to buy time.
Keisuke had been preparing his real attack.
He drew out almost all of the remaining chakra stored in his Yin Seal, mixed it with his own Yang chakra, and formed a new sphere, far stronger than the previous one, with a faint, white planetary ring around it.
"This one..." he said, gently tossing the sphere. "...we'll call it the Great Dark Spiral Annihilation Sphere."
The black comet streaked across the sky, bringing with it only destruction. It passed through the aftershock of the previous explosion and landed squarely on the Eight-Tails.
BOOM—
The resulting explosion was so powerful it would have deafened a normal ninja. A brilliant white light bloomed on the ground, illuminating the dark night. The massive body of the Eight-Tails, the perfect target, was engulfed. The violent chakra tore through it, and its own power was forcibly shoved back into its seal. B, caught in the shockwave, was instantly knocked unconscious.
Keisuke slowly descended from the sky.
The Eight-Tails Jinchuriki: captured.
The AB Combo, along with the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, had been thoroughly erased from the history of the ninja world.
