Chapter 243: The Annihilation of the Hidden Mist Forces!
While his clones were cleaning up the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, Nara Keisuke and the Five-Tails, Kokuō, officially entered the battlefield.
"Kokuō! Use steam!"
Steam? Could it be... Kokuō understood immediately. It continued its charge, but now began to release massive plumes of high-temperature steam. The beautiful white beast galloped across the land, leaving a soft, fluffy white trail that stretched into the sky, gradually forming a thick, dark cloud. The steam from the earlier clash of fire and water jutsu was still in the air, and now, fed by Kokuō's Boil Release, the updrafts connected, expanding the storm cloud's width and depth.
But very few on the chaotic battlefield below noticed the change in the weather. Their attention was fixed on the charging Five-Tails.
Keisuke, riding Kokuō, used its massive body and raw power to forcibly split the battlefield in two. Under his careful control, the Konoha ninja were completely unharmed. The Kiri forces, on the other hand, broke and scattered. Under remote command, the Konoha shinobi rallied behind their leader, forming a large phalanx. The Kiri ninja could only run for their lives, trying to get as far away from the Shadow of Darkness and the Five-Tails as possible.
The battlefield, which moments ago had been filled with the roar of battle, was now eerily silent, as if someone had pressed a stop button. The main forces had disengaged. The only fight still raging was at the center of the field.
But a careful observer would have noticed that Suikazan Fuguki, who had been supporting the Three-Tails, had already quietly retreated with Samehada. The seven elite Jonin of the Mist were all roughly on the same level. Seeing his comrades slaughtered so miserably... Fuguki would be lying if he said he wasn't terrified. The Seven Swordsmen could "mow the grass" when fighting Chunin and Genin. But the Shadow of Darkness's "mowing" of the Seven Swordsmen was even more effortless. All he did was lift a finger, and his teammates dropped dead. Even with Samehada in his hand, Fuguki didn't dare to fight him.
'At least we still have the Three-Tails...' he thought, his eyes shifting from Kokuō to Isobu, who was still wrestling with the Susanoo. 'As long as it's here, we won't be completely wiped out... At least we can escape, right?'
On the other side, Keisuke's attention was also focused on Isobu. He had just wiped out most of Kiri's top-tier command structure. But even so, the masked Uchiha and Tobi had not shown themselves. And, at the same time, he couldn't find any trace of Obito. He knew that their true targets were Shisui and Obito. Shisui was here, but Obito, a Chunin who should have been on the front lines, was gone.
'Did he die as cannon fodder? Or has Madara's plan to capture him already succeeded?'
He had no answer for now. He wasn't particularly concerned about Obito's fate. After this was over, he would head to the Land of Iron to deal with the fake mastermind, the old man. As for the real mastermind, Black Zetsu... he would have to be dealt with later. He was too difficult to find.
'First, I need to deal with the Three-Tails. At the very least, I have to take that big turtle out of the fight.'
He glanced up at the sky. The storm cloud, fed by Kokuō, was ready. He leaped from its back and landed on the ground, flying through hand seals.
[A-Rank Technique: Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld]
[Description: The more you struggle, the deeper you sink! The bottomless swamp of the abyss!]
[Effect: Turns the ground into a soft, wet mud, creating a swamp to restrict the enemy's movements.]
[Evaluation: I'm playing in the mud in Konoha.]
A vast, dark mire spread out from beneath his feet, instantly covering the ground where Isobu and the Susanoo were fighting. The Tailed Beast felt the earth give way and its massive body began to sink into the soft mud until its shell was completely submerged.
Kagami, seeing this, dispelled his Susanoo and flew into the air.
"Damn you, ninja!" Isobu roared, struggling to poke its head out of the swamp. It began to gather chakra, a terrifyingly powerful Tailed Beast Bomb forming in its mouth.
Seeing this, Kokuō's eyes turned cold. 'Keisuke, should I...'
"No—" Keisuke began, then changed his mind. "Kokuō, you start charging a Tailed Beast Bomb, too. But don't fire until I give the signal."
The Kiri ninja, who had been quietly retreating, now wished they could sprout wings and fly out of the Land of Hot Water. Enraged, Isobu fired its Tailed Beast Bomb, not waiting for it to reach its full power. It rocketed toward Keisuke and Kokuō.
Keisuke simply reached for the Uchiwa clan's ancestral treasure on his back, the Flame Uchiwa, and, instead of retreating, stepped forward, holding the Gunbai in front of him.
THOOM!
The Tailed Beast Bomb slammed into the fan. The massive sphere of chakra was continuously absorbed, shrinking with every second. When it was nearly gone, Keisuke casually swung the fan, converting all of the absorbed chakra into a ferocious gale.
Uchiha Reflection!
BOOM!
Fed by the massive power of the Tailed Beast Bomb, the resulting windstorm was apocalyptic. The ground itself was torn apart, and a hurricane of wind and rock blasted across the battlefield.
Isobu, with its natural armor, was unharmed. But the fleeing Kiri ninja were not so lucky. Kurosuki Raiga, who had barely escaped the clones, was instantly shredded. The other, weaker ninja had no way to resist the heaven-covering storm and were all annihilated.
When the wind finally died down, the great army of the Hidden Mist had been almost completely wiped out.
