Chapter 255 - Chapter 255: Akainu's House Got Stolen

Chapter 255: Akainu's House Got Stolen

Another stealing skill? Shane was indignant. Is the system trying to typecast me?

...He added it to his cart. Please give me more of these, thank you!

[Gatanothor, the Great Evil God]

[Type: Summon]

[Price: 75,000 Points]

[Description: The ultimate ruler of darkness from the world of Ultraman Tiga...]

[Seller's Note: I've had this listed for ages. Aren't pets supposed to be popular? Why is no one buying my stuff?]

Shane's eye twitched. Who in their right mind would buy that?! And even if they wanted to, who could afford it?!

Next!

[Contingency Scroll]

[Type: Consumable]

[Price: 9000 Points]

[Description: A high-level spell from a D&D-like world. Allows the user to form a contract with up to five individuals. When any of the contracted individuals suffer a fatal blow, the damage is transferred in full to the caster.]

[Seller's Note: Looking to buy the severed arms of strong martial artists! The more, the better! Please list them in the shop!]

What kind of weirdo collects severed arms? Shane thought. But the scroll... was perfect. He had no need for a standard "contingency" spell. He had absolute confidence in his own durability. But this reversed version... this was exactly what he needed. The ability to take any fatal blow meant for the people he cared about... it was a steal at 9000 points.

Must buy.

...The rest of the shop was junk. He checked out, his total spending coming to 19,800 points, leaving him with a balance of 10,600.

He immediately used the Contingency Scroll, linking it to Belle-mère, Nami, and Nojiko. He'd save the other two slots for later. Then, he activated the Random Steal Scroll. Three draws! Let's go!

Three silver chains of light shot into the sky. A moment later, three items fell at his feet.

[You have obtained the fishing rod of the future Marine Hero, Koby.]

[You have obtained the house of Marine Admiral Akainu.]

[You have obtained the personal nightgown of the Lord of the World, Imu.]

THUD!

A massive, traditional Wano-style house, complete with a garden, suddenly appeared in front of him.

"?" Shane stared, his mouth agape. You can steal a whole house?! The family housing district in Marineford must have a new vacant lot... He quickly sacrificed it.

[You have sacrificed Akainu's house. You have gained 6000 points.]

Nice. A year had passed since their last encounter, so the cooldown was over. And 6000 points... Akainu must have really loved his house.

Next...

[You have sacrificed Imu's personal nightgown. You have gained 12,000 points.]

A nightgown... so is Imu a man or a woman? The question had never been answered in his past life. But more importantly... 12,000 points. From a single piece of clothing. That meant Imu's power was on a completely different level, far beyond that of an Admiral or a Yonko. So there is a higher level... A shiver of excitement, not fear, ran down his spine.

And the last item...

[You have sacrificed the fishing rod of the future Marine Hero, Koby. You have gained 1500 points.]

Why so much? Shane wondered. He opened the item description.

[Koby's Fishing Rod]

[Appraisal: The fishing rod that changed Koby's destiny. In the original timeline, it was this rod that led him to be captured by Alvida's pirates, to meet Luffy, to be taken under Garp's wing, and to become a hero of the Marines.]

So, by stealing this, I've completely derailed his life? Shane thought with a grin. Good! The world doesn't need a "hero of the Marines." It needs to be burned to the ground and rebuilt.

The three steals had netted him a total of 19,600 points. His balance was back up to 30,100. The Random Steal Scroll had more than paid for itself.

He spent the rest of the day mastering his new Flight Technique, which, as he had suspected, could be powered by Haki instead of "ki." By evening, he was soaring through the clouds, a feeling of pure, unadulterated freedom washing over him. This is way cooler than Moonwalk.

...

That evening, the welcome feast was in full swing. "Boss, you're finally here!" Smoker said, pulling him aside. He pointed at the two nearly identical swordswomen who were currently engaged in a friendly sparring match. "Where the hell did you find another one of her?"

"You don't recognize her?" Shane said, a little surprised. "She's from the East Blue, too. She used to be one of your subordinates."

"Eh?" Smoker's jaw dropped. He looked closer. Tashigi? Is that really her? He remembered a clumsy, bespectacled girl... not this confident, powerful swordswoman. No wonder she'd looked at him so strangely when they first met.

"They really do look like twins," he muttered, a shiver running down his spine. And they're both swordmasters... this is too much pressure. He'd been on the receiving end of Kuina's "discipline" more times than he could count. Now he had to watch out for two of them? He remembered just that morning, he'd forgotten to put out his cigar in the kitchen, and Tashigi had just looked at him, and he'd nearly had a heart attack...

Just then, the doors to the dining hall burst open. Kuma stood there, pale and sweating, his eyes wide with panic.

"Captain... Bonney... she's gone!"
