Chapter 4 - The seven great clans (ii)

The atmosphere suddenly shifted, and the environment darkened as if the light itself was being absorbed by an unseen force. Not even seconds later, a shadow wolf emerged, its body shrouded in a dark aura that seemed to ripple and distort the air around it. The wolf pulled a procession of black carriages, their dark exteriors seeming to blend seamlessly into the shadows.

A hushed murmur ran through the crowd as they beheld the shadow wolf and its accompanying carriages, their arrival casting a palpable sense of foreboding over the gathering. The air seemed to grow heavier, weighed down by an unspoken sense of mystery and unease.

The crowd's murmurs grew louder, and whispers of "Night Clan" and "Shadow Clan" spread like wildfire. Many eyes turned to the black carriages, their curiosity piqued by the arrival of this enigmatic and feared clan. The shadow wolf's dark aura seemed to grow more intense, as if sensing the attention, and the Night Clan's presence cast a palpable air of intrigue over the gathering. The Night Clan's reputation preceded them, and their presence sent a shiver down the spines of many in attendance.

It was whispered that they were not to be trifled with, and those who crossed them often met with disastrous consequences. The air seemed to grow heavier, as if the very darkness itself was warning others to keep their distance.

The Night Clan was a force to be reckoned with, and their power was feared by all. Many in the crowd wondered what business had brought them to the Awakening Test, and whether their presence was a good omen or a bad one.The Night Clan was indeed a mysterious and feared group, known for their sinister reputation and formidable power. Their very presence seemed to cast a shadow over the proceedings, and many watched with bated breath to see what would unfold.

Their history was shrouded in mystery, and whispers of their dark dealings and ruthless tactics had earned them a reputation as one of the most feared clans in the land. It was said that those who crossed the Night Clan often met with a grim fate, and many wondered if anyone would dare to challenge them at the Awakening Test.

The Night Clan's motives were unknown, and their actions were always calculated and deliberate. Many in the crowd wondered what lay behind their arrival, and whether their presence would bring about a turning point in the proceedings.

The Night Clan members were known to wield significant power over the shadow and darkness elements, allowing them to manipulate the very fabric of the environment to their advantage. Their affinity for darkness granted them abilities that were both feared and respected, making them formidable opponents in any confrontation.

"It is said that they can create shadow illusions that are indistinguishable from reality," whispered an onlooker, eyes wide with a mix of fascination and fear. "Their control over darkness is absolute."

A seasoned elder nodded in agreement, adding, "I recall a small clan that dared to offend them. The Night Clan absorbed their territory in a single night, and the clan was never heard from again." The crowd exchanged uneasy glances, the weight of the Night Clan's reputation settling over them.

Their affinity for darkness granted them abilities that were both feared and respected, making them formidable opponents in any confrontation.

A golden lion, its mane shining like the sun, emerged from the distance, pulling a series of golden carriages that seemed to radiate an aura of grandeur. The crowd gasped in awe, recognizing the symbol of the Heavenly Golden Body Clan.

"The Heavenly Golden Body Clan is here," someone announced, "it seems the rumours are true, their number one genius is participating in this year's test." The atmosphere grew more charged, with many eyes fixed on the golden carriages. It is to be known that lion-type demon beasts were prideful, which only served to underscore the strength and prestige of the people within the carriages.

A young man in the crowd turned to his friends and whispered, "I wonder what rank I'll be." One of his friends replied, "It doesn't matter, the people from the great clans will take the top ten spots, and you will just have to settle for the rank below this young genius." His friends burst into laughter, ridiculing him, "Ha! You think you'll even get close? The Night Clan and the Heavenly Golden Body Clan are on a completely different level!" The young man's face turned red with embarrassment, and he looked away, muttering, "I know, I know..."

Marcus and his brother, Adrian, stood at the edge of the crowd, their eyes fixed intently on the scene unfolding before them. The arrival of the Night Clan and the Heavenly Golden Body Clan had sent the atmosphere into a frenzy, but the brothers watched with a quiet confidence.

"We'll beat all of them, isn't that right brother?" Marcus said, a grin spreading across his face.

"Every single one of them," Adrian replied, his voice low and steady.

As they spoke, Adrian's gaze narrowed, his thoughts turning inward. 'You all have to bend your backs and become stepping stones for my brother and I on our path to revenge,' he whispered to himself, a cold determination burning in his eyes.

Marcus's grin grew even wider, his eyes gleaming with an otherworldly intensity as he caught Adrian's whispered words. His smile twisted, taking on a sinister cast, like a predator savoring the scent of its prey.

Unbeknownst to those around them, the brothers' demon clan bloodlines were indeed stirring, their latent powers and instincts beginning to surface. The air around them seemed to grow heavier, as if the shadows themselves were stirring, drawn to the brothers' awakening darkness.

Adrian's eyes flicked to Marcus, a silent understanding passing between them. They were no longer just ordinary individuals, but vessels for the ancient power of their demon clans, waiting to unleash their fury upon the world.

In the carriage of the Heavenly Golden Body Clan, a middle-aged man with golden-red hair frowned, his gaze piercing through the walls of the carriage to fix on a particular direction - the same direction where Adrian and Marcus stood, as if sensing something.

A small smile spread across his face, "So they survived after all," he murmured to himself. "The next few years will be interesting...I hope the Demon Sect knows who they have offended, for they are one of the few clans in the eastern continent with a direct connection to the higher planes."

Meanwhile, in the other carriages, similar activities were taking place. Individuals took out talismans, their fingers moving swiftly as they sent messages, no doubt alerting allies and preparing for the unfolding events. The air was thick with anticipation, and the various clans were positioning themselves for the battles ahead.
