Chapter 18 - Chapter 17: Chunin exam I

The day of the chunin exams has arrived.

Even though I say that, it's a day like any other where I wake up stuck to the wall for using chakra manipulation while still asleep. The only difference is that today I have to go to a specific place to report.

Every time I wake up like this, I call it a cockroach awakening.

Anyway, I do the same thing as always: get up, take a cold shower, wash my face, and then go to breakfast.

Maki hands me a lunch box, and I proceed to the exam site.

I had already notified Maki that I probably wouldn't be back for a few days because of the second test, so she also leaves with me to accompany me while she gives orders to the rest of the servants.

I feel the breeze caressing my head, but because of my haircut, I feel it completely, which makes me uncomfortable, but it's just a matter of getting used to it again.

The day before, I asked Maki to cut my hair, so now the bottom part of my hair is so short that it looks like it was shaved, while the top part was kept at a length of at least four fingers and then combed back.

It was mainly because it's the haircut I was most used to in my previous life. Now I just need to grow some beard, if this body is capable of it, of course.

I head to the place where the chunin exam will be held, where several other Konoha ninja teams are gathered, one of them being a white-haired boy with a mask covering half of his face.

I knew he would be here, but hey, it's not like I care.

We head to our classrooms for the written exam, but as we walk to the rooms, I notice that there is a barrier that disorients those trying to reach the classrooms.

A genjutsu barrier, huh?

I take a stronger step with some chakra imbued to use the sound as a trigger and thus open a gap in the barrier.

If the illusion depends on the senses, a loud, controlled noise should be enough to force the brain to recalibrate perception, something like the function of hypnosis, where a certain sound puts you into a lethargic state or brings you back to reality.

It's also like when you're lost in your thoughts, a loud sound next to you brings you back to your senses.

I pass through the genjutsu barrier without any problems and enter my classroom.

The rest of the participants are left speechless, as they were about to enter the barrier only to get lost.

But come on, I'm no good Samaritan, so after entering the classroom, I cancel my technique, leaving them confused again.

"hahaha, fuck you" i said.

POV Hokage's office

The jounin were gathered to observe the performance of the exam participants, among them was also the barrier group that placed that barrier to disorient them.

But there was one participant who stunned them, as they did not expect his method of evading the barrier to be to cover himself with his own barrier, which is activated by the sound of his footsteps imbued with chakra.

"Did he really just break through the barrier with another one? What kind of logic is that?"

Some looked at each other, but in the end they just shrugged and continued watching, as this meant that Kenji had passed this test.

Back to Kenji

Well, I was one of the first to arrive in the classroom. I waited a few minutes and other chunin candidates began to enter, including Kakashi.

We don't have a close relationship; we're not friends.

If it weren't for the anime, I wouldn't have the slightest idea who the hell he is.

One might say, "But he's the second youngest ninja to become a genin and take the chunin exam, he's too famous."

Well, how can I tell you that even if they were the most famous in school or even celebrities, I still had no fucking idea who they were?

Even though there were senpai who were high school boxing champions and very popular, I had no idea that the boxing club even existed.

I was so focused on my own world that I didn't understand what was going on around me.

And unfortunately or fortunately, the same thing is still happening to me here, although I don't understand exactly why.

A few more minutes pass and finally several students arrive.

Behind another group is finally the instructor.

"Okay, students, as you know, this is the exam for those teams that were recommended to take the test, which, if passed, will allow them to be called Chunin.

The teacher was in a good mood, not having the same tone as Ibiki Morino from the time of Naruto's chunin exams.

"Here are the written exam papers, which you should answer to the best of your ability," he explained as he passed the papers to the students in front so they could pass them to the students behind them.

"Also, if we catch you cheating, you will be automatically eliminated from the test."

He looked at the clock in the background.

"You have exactly one hour to answer it, so pens up and get answering.

I turned over the exam paper and read the questions to start answering it.

Hokage's office.

The Hokage and the jounin kept their eyes on the screens monitoring the written exam.

The written exam had already begun, with ninjas from smaller villages and Konoha itself taking the exam.

But Hiruzen was interested in two specific candidates.

"Kakashi Hatake and Kenji Furukawa."

An ANBU standing nearby, as if understanding the Hokage, proceeded to explain the background of both candidates.

"Kakashi Hatake, 6 years old, showed great ninja talent at the ninja academy, learned the three basic techniques at age 5, and requested early graduation," said the jounin as he read from the sheet.

"Son of Sakumo Hatake, alias 'White Fang of Konoha,' who passed on his sword techniques to him, Kakashi has successfully completed several of his D, C, and B-rank missions.

The ANBU passed the sheet and proceeded to read the information on the next talent.

"Kenji Furukawa, also 6 years old, is the youngest of those who graduated early from the academy, only one month behind Kakashi," he paused to take a breath and continued reading.

"He also showed ninja talent, but in his case, he overwhelmed with theoretical knowledge and even contributed new mathematical formulas and techniques to the educational system, which is why he was known as a loner by his peers.

He turned the page to read the rest.

"The son of unknown parents, his biological mother died in a bandit attack, and he was rescued and adopted by a woman Uchiha, but this woman died in the line of duty while serving in the Uchiha military police.

He was a close friend of the Nine-Tailed Jinchuriki Uzumaki Kushina and a student of Tsunade.

-He managed to capture some spies thanks to his ability to tame ants whose sting is extremely painful, and we do not know if he has other similar techniques, but we suspect that he does due to the condition of the corpses of the bandits and renegade ninjas he brings back.

-In addition, he managed to kill a renegade jounin ninja from the cloud and other chunin with the help of his ants, all under the watchful eye of an ANBU squad and even the jinchuriki Kushina.

All the jounin in the room were both surprised and proud of the young talents taking the chunin exam.

Only the high-ranking officials such as the Hokage and his three advisors, the ANBU, and the clan leaders were in this office, so the information would not be leaked.

The Hokage, satisfied with the explanation from the ANBU at his side, continued to observe the performance of these two talented young people.

Kakashi used some techniques to copy the answers of the other participants and answered the ones he considered easy.

Using the reflection of his pen or even the windows, he managed to pass the test.

In Kenji's case, he released some of his ants to gather information and relay what was written to him. If anyone detected them or tried to kill them, they would immediately sting them, causing them to be disqualified from the test and eliminating some future opponents.

A couple of tiny black ants crawl along the edge of his desk. They are almost invisible to the human eye... but not to Kenji. They crawl across the tables, climb up sleeves and collars, and transmit information with movements of their antennae. The rest of the classroom has no idea that they are surrounded.

In the Hokage's office, there were a few jounin who laughed when they saw how Kenji got rid of the competition and gathered information in the process, so he also passes the test.

A genin falls to the floor, trembling, as he tries to cover his mouth to keep from screaming. His eyes are glassy, and a trickle of saliva escapes between his clenched teeth. Finally, a scream escapes him as he grabs the area that was bitten, and a chunin immediately disqualifies him.

Another boy brought his hands to his neck with a muffled scream. His veins seemed to burn under his skin as he collapsed. A twisted spasm ran through his legs and the floor was stained with saliva.

But inside the office, several jounin wondered why they were screaming so much if they were only stung by an ant.

So the ANBU began to explain.

"According to what we have gathered, their ants are of a special breed whose sting is extremely painful, causing spasms, chills, continuous vomiting, and in extreme cases, cardiac arrest or suffocation."

The face of the one who asked the question contorted, as he did not expect the sting of a simple ant to be so horrible.

"Furthermore, the effects last for at least 24 hours, so it is continuous suffering for a long time."

Some jounin turned pale, as it was no surprise that he had managed to kill a jounin from the cloud.

Side note: in order to get up after being stung several times by these bullet ants, you need a lot of willpower, just watch the documentaries.

They could only imagine how much pain the victim must be in to suffer those symptoms, but in the end, since none of them had been stung by those ants, they couldn't really know.

Some even muttered things like, "If that kid can do this at age 6... what will happen when he's a jounin?"

The elders Utatane and Homura also whispered among themselves, as did a few other jounin in the room.

"That boy Furukawa... how the hell did a six-year-old develop those techniques?

"Don't forget that he has Tsunade as his teacher. And the ants... who knows how he does it.

"What if he keeps growing like this? He'll be a monster when he's fifteen.

And other voices continued to emerge from among them, with intrigue and fear in their tones.

Having finished the first phase of the exam, the genin in the classroom began to leave.

The teachers gave them a break, so everyone took the opportunity to buy some food at the surrounding stalls.

Of course, some of those stalls were owned by Kenji, such as exotic food stalls that in the original world are known as Mexican food or Arabic food.

Unfortunately, they are only imitations, as the real ingredients require a more suitable environment, so they use substitutes that make the purchase cheaper and safer.

Author's note: I am Mexican with Arab blood, so in my family these two cultures are mixed in the food, sometimes even fusing them together.

But even though they are imitations, many people gather to eat at these stalls, which are run by some of Kenji's servants.

It's not like they're going to know if they're imitations or not, so there are no complaints in that regard.

The commercial district has been growing lately thanks to investments from Kenji and the Uchiha, as Kenji convinced Fugaku to have the Uchiha clan participate in the formation of several businesses so that the Uchiha clan could grow economically. Furthermore, with the growth of the

Uchiha funds, people would be more hesitant to touch them (especially that Hokage monkey).

There is no power stronger than money, because without it, you can't do anything. No matter how strong you are, without economic or political power, you are easily disposable.

Even as a politician, if you don't have money, you will be seen as incompetent, just like Sunagakure and its situation with its Damyo.

As such, the Uchiha clan has become involved in Kenji's affairs, both by asking the clan for help and by subtly introducing ideas to Uncle Fugaku to convince the clan leader to implement these reforms little by little.

So now there is a new economic district under the name Uchiha, but Kenji is the one who secretly operates it.

Incidentally, Kenji has been observing the growth of a certain individual who loves to make ramen, so he has sent some servants to try to convince him to open his own stall, as they see him as extremely talented.

Does anyone suspect a 6-year-old boy of running a business? Not really, since he shifts the responsibility to his servants and the Uchiha, making them divert attention away from him.

If someone were to ask him directly if he was responsible for all of this, you would only see him play dumb and not really answer while escaping the scene.

But as such, only those involved know about this, and because they also benefit from it, they will not talk about it.

POV Kenji

The agreed time passes and everyone gathers outside the forest of death, where the supervisors were already waiting for us.

The head supervisor turns to look at the exam participants and proceeds to explain.

"Okay, we are all gathered today in front of what we know as the 'Forest of Death' for your second test, which consists of survival for 3 days.

In addition, there will be scrolls that you must fight to obtain, which are the scroll of heaven and the scroll of earth.

We will give each team one scroll, and you must obtain the missing one. The methods you use are up to you."

He takes out several pieces of paper and passes them to the exam candidates.

"These papers are an agreement that releases anyone from responsibility in the event that they die in the forest, so your lives will depend solely on you, so be extremely careful.

If you do not sign, then the exam will end here for you. So if you want to continue taking this exam, sign that agreement."

Some of the genin hesitated, because even though they already knew about this, it was only when they arrived here that they truly felt they could die, so some of them left, taking their teams with them, but there were also others who, despite their doubts, decided to sign.

I sign the agreement and return the sheet to the supervisor.

But now that I turn around and look at the others, I notice that they have expressions that underestimate both Kakashi and me for being single-person teams as well as for our age.

"A six-year-old brat thinks he can do this alone?" exclaimed one of the genin taking the exam.

That guy in particular seems to be wearing the Kusagakure headband... OK, now I know who to mess with in there, so I take the trouble to provoke him.

I point my finger at him, then point at myself and make a vulgar gesture, which literally translates as, "You can suck my dick."

So that genin immediately gets angry and wants to go after me, but his team barely stops him....

For some reason, provoking that genin gave me an interesting boost... I think this could become addictive.

I wonder... will he scream a lot when my ants start working?

After the genin signed the agreement or withdrew, the supervisor nodded to his colleagues and finally exclaimed.

"If there's nothing else, go in now. Remember that once you're inside, you can't come out for three days."

"YES!!"

All the teams entered the forest of death, ready for anything that came their way.

I was already opening my jars with my ants and spiders, as well as preparing my summoning techniques as I entered.

Here I will unleash the true power of these little friends.

"Hehehehehe."

The moment I laughed like that, I noticed the strange looks from some of the Konoha teams, but then I composed myself and entered the Forest of Death.

My ants are already crawling underground... waiting for the order to hunt. In three days, this forest will be their kingdom.

A/N:

LeoCreepy here again.

Well, this time it's taking me a little longer because I've been studying some entomology and other things for later scenes.

I really shouldn't get so far ahead of myself, but I get anxious when I don't have all the necessary information. Even so, I can still make mistakes, so I would really appreciate your comments so I can continue to improve.

Also, I read a comment that already guessed a waifu, so I'll start drawing, even though it was unintentional and just a mention, but you guessed it anyway, so I'll proceed with what I promised.

With nothing else to say, thank you very much for reading.
