"Wait," I said, raising my hand as Lucas reached for his phone. "We're not finished yet."
Everyone in the room turned to look at me. Lucas paused, his hand halfway to the device.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"The poison has been purged from your system, but the source is still here. In this house."
Amelia's face went pale. "The source?"
"Someone placed a cursed object in your home. Something designed to slowly drain your life force over months. Until we find it and cleanse it, you're still in danger."
Dr. Blaine stepped forward. "A cursed object? Mr. Hayes, surely you don't believe—"
"Dr. Blaine," I interrupted. "Five minutes ago you watched me cure a man who was dying from an untraceable illness using golden needles that vibrated on their own. Maybe it's time to expand your worldview."
Lucas was already moving toward the door. "Where do we look?"
"Somewhere you spend significant time. Somewhere personal. Your study, perhaps?"
