The door exploded inward with a thunderous crash that shook the entire office.
I stepped through the splintered frame, my eyes immediately finding Evelyn pressed against the wall with Sebastian looming over her like a predator. The sight ignited something primal in my chest.
"Get your hands off my woman," I said, my voice deadly calm.
Sebastian spun around, his face contorting with shock and rage. "How did you get past my bodyguards?"
"They're taking a nap," I replied, brushing invisible dust from my sleeve. "Permanently, if you don't step away from her right now."
Evelyn's eyes met mine across the room. Relief flooded her features, but I could see the fear still trembling in her hands.
"This is a private business meeting," Sebastian sneered, though he took a step back from Evelyn. "You have no right to interfere."
"Business meeting?" I laughed, but there was no humor in it. "Is that what you call attempting to assault my fiancée?"
