Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: An Unexpected Identity and a Useless System

Carl blinked in mild surprise as he checked the red envelope history.

He had sent out four shares, intending for each chat group member to receive a thousand points.

But now, only three people had claimed theirs.

The only one who hadn't… was the member called Commander of the Wall Guard.

Maybe they just weren't online?

At the moment

The three girls, Tsunade, Tokka, and Keisha, had gotten a lot more active thanks to the red envelopes.

Princess of the Senju: Come to think of it, points really are great. Thanks, Carl-kun!

What Do I Do, My Sister's a Chuunibyou?: Much appreciated, boss! @GodAmongMen

King of the Heavenly Blade: Thanks, big boss!

GodAmongMen: No need to thank me.

What Do I Do, My Sister's a Chuunibyou?: Speaking of which, why hasn't General Su claimed his red envelope?

King of the Heavenly Blade: No clue. Probably busy.

King of the Heavenly Blade: Didn't we say before? He's always busy IRL.

Princess of the Senju: Sounds about right.

Princess of the Senju: He'll probably be really happy when he sees the envelope.

Princess of the Senju: Wasn't he saving up to buy that "Overlord Aura" thing?

Carl scrolled through the chat log, even more puzzled.

General Su…

Who was that?

Could it be that one member whose identity hadn't yet been revealed?

The one called Commander of the Wall Guard?

But wait... wasn't the Wall Guard Commander supposed to be Mulan?

Carl furrowed his brow.

Of course, he wasn't completely certain.

Back in his previous life, he never really paid attention to the lore behind Honor of Kings.

After thinking for a second, he simply asked directly:

GodAmongMen: Who's General Su? The Commander of the Wall Guard?

Princess of the Senju: That's right! That's him.

Princess of the Senju: You didn't know? He mentioned it over ten hours ago.

GodAmongMen: Must've been during dinner. I wasn't online then.

Ten hours ago…

Carl had either been out grabbing food or curled up with Skye on the couch.

No wonder he missed the message.

Earlier, he'd only skimmed the chat log briefly.

He definitely wouldn't have scrolled back that far unless someone had tagged him directly.

So there was no real need to dig through the whole chat.

King of the Heavenly Blade: Ah, that explains it.

King of the Heavenly Blade: I was wondering why Carl-senpai hadn't said anything earlier.

Princess of the Senju: The Commander of the Wall Guard is a general named Su Lie.

Princess of the Senju: Apparently, he's stationed at the Great Wall, defending the borderlands.

What Do I Do, My Sister's a Chuunibyou?: Yep, that's the gist of it.

GodAmongMen: I see…

So it was Su Lie?

Carl raised an eyebrow, genuinely surprised.

He had assumed the commander would be the cool-headed Mulan, a dignified warrior queen type.

But to think… it was actually General Su?

What Do I Do, My Sister's a Chuunibyou?: Honestly, I was surprised too.

What Do I Do, My Sister's a Chuunibyou?: General Su's world must be one where strength is highly valued.

What Do I Do, My Sister's a Chuunibyou?: I thought he was from a more "normal" setting.

Princess of the Senju: "Commander of the Wall Guard" doesn't exactly sound like an average job, does it?

What Do I Do, My Sister's a Chuunibyou?: Fair point.

Commander of the Wall Guard has received 820 points.

Commander of the Wall Guard: Thanks for the red envelope, Carl-senpai. @GodAmongMen

GodAmongMen: Don't mention it.

What Do I Do, My Sister's a Chuunibyou?: General Su, what happened? Why so late claiming it?

Commander of the Wall Guard: Nothing serious.

Commander of the Wall Guard: I've just been busy with reopening city gates and negotiating trade routes with other nations.

Commander of the Wall Guard: It's a delicate process, has to be handled carefully.

What Do I Do, My Sister's a Chuunibyou?: Ohh, I get it now.

Su Lie seemed really busy and logged off soon after.

Thanks to Carl's red envelope, though, Tsunade and the other two had gotten pretty hyped.

The chat room was lively.

After a while, Tsunade logged off too.

Tokka and Keisha, on the other hand, had plenty of free time.

They kept pestering Carl to send a selfie.

Carl didn't refuse.

After all, he could be sent on a cross-world mission at any time.

It'd be kind of awkward if his fellow group members didn't even know what he looked like.

So, he got dressed and snapped a photo.

Chuunibyou World

In a quiet room, a beautiful woman with long hair and striking crimson eyes sat calmly.

This was Takanashi Tokka, older sister of the protagonist from Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions.

She was the head chef at a high-end restaurant, with superb culinary skills.

At this moment, she was typing rapidly in the chat group, pestering Carl to send a picture.

She even offered to trade photos to tempt him.

Only then did Carl agree.

"I can't wait to see it…"

"Wonder if Tsunade was telling the truth. Is he really that handsome?"

Right then, Carl sent his photo.

"Whoa! He really is super handsome!"

"Black hair and black eyes too!"

"So Carl-senpai's not just powerful, he's a total heartthrob!"

Tokka stared at his picture, eyes sparkling with admiration.

At first

She had asked out of pure curiosity.

But now, she was glad she did.

Totally the right move.

Truth was

It's not just guys who like looking at pretty girls.

Most girls also love a good-looking guy.

Tokka adjusted the angle and snapped over a dozen photos.

She chose the best one and posted it in the group.

Seeing Carl compliment her, she smiled softly.

Carl glanced over the two photos and nodded in approval.

Yup. Just as he remembered them.

Keisha was still in her girlhood, far from the Queen of Angels she'd one day become.

He gave them both a few kind words, then logged off to get some rest.

The Next Morning

Carl got up early.

Not that he needed sleep anymore, his body had long since transcended that need.

But old habits die hard.

And honestly, sleeping still felt pretty nice.

Just then, the system's notification chime rang out.

Carl nodded. "Alright, check-in."

With the familiar sound, a few pieces of clothing materialized in front of him.

He picked them up and gave them a once-over.

They were nearly identical to his Super Suit from the system store.

Same red-and-blue color scheme.

Except this one had a skirt.

And it came with red boots and thigh-high stockings.

"???"

Carl stared at the outfit in his hands, expression deadpan.

System?

What the hell is wrong with you?

Can you not do this?

Last time, giving me a black variant of my super suit was fine, I like black.

But this?

A freaking Supergirl costume?

What, do you expect me to cosplay?

Heh.

Carl rolled his eyes. This system was getting more and more useless by the day.

At that moment, Skye stirred from her sleep.

Still half-asleep, she mumbled, "Morning, Carl…"

Carl looked at Skye…

Then at the Supergirl outfit in his hand…

And suddenly, a spark lit up in his eyes.
